I looked up and my eyes met a pair of ocean eyes almost like mine, he had bleached brown hair which made it look brown nd blond, in short he was very cute
i could smell wolfness off him which meant he was a wolf too
"woah" he gasp bringing me out of my 5 second thought Circle. i look right at his perfect face, before smilingly sheepishly
"I-I' m sorry," i whispered, adverting me gaze to the tiled floor beneath me. i hugged my book to my chest, almost like a shield. and fell my hair to almost cover my face, half expecting a vivid slap and a look of pure disgust from this stranger, when nothing came i piped my head up a bit, looking back at his face
He held on a confused look and he's eyes held curiosity?
Bryan's smooth, masculine voice sent a flutter through me. "It's alright. I'm Bryan Williams. What might a pretty lady like you be doing after school this late?" He chuckled, noticing my shocked expression.
"w-what i thought it was p-past 2?" i strutted rotating my head try to find the hall way clock.
My brows furrowed. I was sure it was only 2. He must've caught my confusion because he chuckled.
"It's almost four," he added with a grin.
My eyes widened. Oh no. I usually get home later than most, but not this late. They're going to flip. I'll be their entertainment tonight—their favorite human punching bag. Again.
Bryan's gaze lingered, reading me like an open book. Was this guy psychic?
Byran's expression turned thoughtful, like he was reading my mind. "I guess you're not supposed to be here this late. I can drop you off if you want? But I'd like to know your name..." He trailed off, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.
I hesitated, then gave in. "Lynae morgan. And if you don't mind..." I let my words hang in the air, hoping he'd understand.
Byran's grin was infectious. "Not every day I get to drop off a beautiful girl. I'm sure the guys would be jealous." He guided me towards the parking lot, his hand lightly on my elbow, sending a shiver down my spine
"if only he knew what he was saying" i said inwardly
We chatted as we walked, our footsteps echoing off the empty hallway walls. i was struggling not to run to wherever hes car was
"Ley i think you can calm down ok?" he said i think trying to reassure me
"omg this stranger...I mean byran just nicknamed me" i thought distantly
i just nodded slightly and reduced my pace
"So, are you new?" I asked, trying to keep the conversation light.
"Yeah, I'm starting tomorrow. Just registered today'. He said "What about you? What grade are you in?" He asked
"I'm a senior."
"Seriously? Me too!" he said, eyes lighting up. "Maybe we'll have a few classes together. Though I should warn you—I might be a distraction. A sexy hunk like me sitting nearby? Total chaos."
He waggled his eyebrows playfully, and I couldn't help but laugh. A real laugh. How long had it been since I'd done that?
Today was definitely… strange.
"So, I was wondering if you could take me to your alpha. I'm new here and want to join the pack" I smiled, playing it cool, trying to mask the flutter in my chest.
"Sure. I live in the pack house. I'll take you to him," I replied, my voice steadier than I felt.
"Great!" Bryan said, flashing a grin that made the ride feel lighter than it should have.
The drive was surprisingly easy. We talked back and forth, our conversation flowing effortlessly—small jokes, casual stories, nothing too deep. It was refreshing to speak with someone who didn't judge me or look at me with pity. For once, I felt normal. Too soon, the pack house loomed ahead, its tall structure casting shadows in the fading light.
I led him through the halls, hoping no one noticed I was missing.
My wolf snorted in my head. "They're stuck-up losers. We're better than that."
She was always protective of me, always looking out for me. I guess that's what it meant to have a strong beta bloodline.
We reached Drayton's room, and I hesitated before knocking. Bryan was standing close behind me, making my cheeks flush. The doors opened, revealing Drayton looking... different. His piercing green eyes seemed to bore into my soul, and his chiseled jawline made my heart skip a beat. My hormones were raging, and I blamed it on being a werewolf.
Drayton's eyes softened when he saw Bryan, Bryan's eyes softened when theirs eyes met and hardened almost immediately. "Thanks, Ley," he smiled looking at me, walking past Drayton into the room, after Drayton motioned him to go in. Drayton shot me a look before slamming the door. my heart stringed a bit nd tears pricked my eyes, but I held them back. I was used to this, used to being treated like I didn't matter.
With a heavy sigh, I retreated to my room. At least here, I could breathe. I changed quickly into pants and a sweatshirt, craving comfort, then made my way to Jake's room.
Jake was on the floor with a few of the younger pack kids, toy cars scattered around them. Their laughter filled the room, innocent and pure. I couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.
"Hey, little guy, what's up?" I asked warmly.
"Nae!" Jake cried, leaping up and throwing his tiny arms around me. His head bumped against my stomach, and I rubbed his back gently. Kneeling down to his level, I pressed a kiss to his forehead.
"Glad to see you too, buddy," I said with a smile.
"Nae, can you play cars with me, mike, and Noko? Please, nae?" Jake begged, his wide puppy-dog eyes shining with hope. Those eyes—how could I ever say no
I flopped down onto my hard mattress, I was so exhausted but i still had gone to the kitchen cooked from Jake's room ... all that was remaining were some few dishes and my homework
I had to clean before doing my homework.
I better get to them dishes, I left my room approaching the stairs then i hear him coming
I bit down on my cheek, the metallic taste of blood filling my mouth. as Tears threatened to spill, "you should have stayed inside my room" that was what my brain was screaming at me
why is it screaming when it's meant to be the one thinking. ohh gosh not again, Why does life have to be this cruel?
