At the hospital, Sora finally managed to calm Liam down and ease him into sleep. He gently adjusted the blanket around his brother and let out a shaky breath.
"I'm so tired…" Sora murmured, rubbing his eyes.
The moment he stepped away from the bed, a sudden shift in the air made him freeze.
The scent. Heavy, thick, and overwhelming.
Before he could react, Ren's hand pressed against the wall beside Sora's head, effectively pinning him in place. His other hand hovered at Sora's waist—not touching, but close enough to make Sora's breath hitch.
Ren's eyes were darker than usual.
His pheromones were leaking uncontrollably. "Sora…" Ren's voice came out low, strained. "Stay still."
Sora's heart pounded. "Ren… what's wrong with you?"
Ren inhaled sharply, jaw tight. "It's my rut. It started earlier than I expected."
