Chapter 6 - Cheese and Bonds

Danny, Jazz, Tucker, Kim, and Ron were sitting on the couch in the Fenton's living room. Danny was clutching onto Scylla and Charybdis and trying to regulate his breathing. After leaving the lab, did it really hit him hard that he couldn't trust his parents with the lives of Spirits and Ghosts. He didn't even know if he could trust them with his life if it counted on it. After whom knows how long he realized that they could have been seen fighting Skulker.

-

"Kim." He raised his head, not realizing he was leaning on her shoulder. "Did Wade ever cut off the cameras at the Zoo?" He asked, blushing at the contact with his new friend.

-

"He said he did. I didn't have much time to confirm it with him." Kim said, seemingly ignoring the contact.

-

"That's good. I don't want that fight on the internet. It would out me as a ghost." Danny started. "Why did you jump on Skulker? You could have hurt yourself. Are you alright?" He said, worried for the redhead.

-

"Oh please, I do far more dangerous stuff before breakfast." Kim boasted, turning her face away from her friend.

-

"I know, but Ghosts and Spirits are still an unknown factor that could range from harmless to apocalyptic." Danny countered. "While you had the ecto-gauntlets, I'm still the only one who can reliably fight them." He said. "We haven't even tested the gauntlets yet. You had no idea if they would even work. For all we know, the thermos might just be a fluke."

-

Kim let him rant, enjoying that he was genuinely worried for her. Everyone just sees the globe-trotting hero and never asks if she was safe. He was right though; the gauntlets weren't field tested. The only chance she could have before was derailed by the hatred for Aragon. "I know all of that, but I thought you needed help." Kim told him. "Now, are you alright? I saw what that lab looked like." She was worried as Danny was unresponsive for 5 minutes.

-

"I'm fine now." Danny told Kim. "I just, it looked like they were dissecting a dead Spirit, and I wasn't prepared for it." He said, she did not comment on the whole 'dead' spirit part. "I just thought they were going to look over ghost tech and try to replicate it." Danny had tears forming in his eyes and was handed a handkerchief.

-

"We understand. You would never test our parents like that." Jazz spoke up.

-

Danny was then reminded that his other friends were with him and not just Kim. "I would never. Not like that anyway. They were told to scan the tech, and they should've been doing that, but they disassembled it like they were dissecting a person." Danny used the handkerchief to dry his tears again.

-

"Yes, they should've. But you should've known what our parents are like." Jazz countered.

-

"Yeah, I remember your mom telling us a story about how she took apart her family's fridge as a child. Of course she would take apart tech as an adult." Tucker chimed in from the other side of Jazz.

-

Kim's communicator beeped and she answered it after getting the okay from Danny. "What is it Wade?" She asked not leaving Danny's side. "You found Drakken and Shego?"

-

"Maybe. I found a major power drain in Wisconsin in a building made of cheese." Wade told her. "And before you say it, I checked, it's not a building covered with cheese." He said after seeing the question on Kim's face.

-

"Okay. That's just weird." Ron spoke up after hearing what Wade said.

-

"Yeah, let's get ready Ron." Kim said as she got up from the house.

-

"Can I join you? I need something to take my mind off what I saw down in the lab." Danny said as he got up with Kim and Ron.

-

Kim and Ron looked at each other. Ron shrugged at Danny's question. "Sure Danny. We can do homework on the way." Kim told the half ghost kid.

-

"I could always fly us to Wisconsin." Danny suggested to the two heroes as they headed for the door.

-

"Do you even know where Wisconsin is?" Jazz called out from her spot on the couch, which stopped the trio of heroes.

-

Kim and Ron looked at Danny expectantly. "Well, no. But Wade could just give me directions." Danny said, embarrassed.

-

"I'm not going to do that until we know your top speed. Trust me, I always hook them up with good rides." Wade said from Kim's communicator.

-

"That's right, so grab your bag and you can help Ron with his homework." Kim said with a smile on her face.

-

"Ugh, fine." Danny reached out with his aura and telekinetically pulled his bag to his hand before they made their way out of the door.

+

Jack and Maddie came up to only find Jazz and Tucker doing homework in the living room. They were looking to talk with Danny and say that they were sorry for how they handled the spirit's suit.

-

"Where's Danny, kids?" Maddie asked her daughter and her son's friend.

-

"He went to Wisconsin with Kim and Ron for a mission." Tucker told them.

-

"Yeah, he said he needed something to take his mind off watching you dissect what was essentially a corpse of a spirit. How's that going by the way?" Jazz asked with a bit of venom in her voice. Tucker put a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.

-

"He went out of the state to go heroing with some girl he hardly knows." Jack summarized what his daughter just said. He didn't like that, but couldn't fault him, or Jazz for the venom in her voice. "Did they say when they'll be back?" He asked, focusing on his son for the moment.

-

"Not really, Kim said her missions range in time from an hour to several." Tucker said, recognizing the avoidance of the dissecting comment from Jazz. "They might just portal back after the mission is done or not, we won't know until they come back." He was a little upset with them as well because they unknowingly made Danny feel.

-

"There's no excuse for leaving the state without telling us." Maddie said, getting a little angry at her son. She may have known what they did was bad for his mental health, but she was still a mother.

-

"Now Mads, we knew something like this was going to happen sooner or later when we heard who Danny made friends with. We just pushed him to do it sooner." Jack tried to reason with his wife. "At least they are still in the country." He said, looking on the bright side.

-

Maddie took a couple of calming breaths. "You're right. It's our fault here. We need to live with it. And they are only a state over. That's better than Japan." She said in a voice that could tell that she was trying to be calm.

=+

Danny, Kim, and Ron were exiting a biplane in Wisconsin. "Thanks again for the ride, Mr. Parker" Kim said gratefully.

-

"It was nothing Kim. It was the least I could do after you saved me from that snowstorm." The pilot, named Mr. Parker, said to the redheaded girl.

-

"It was no big." Kim said her catchphrase as she and the boys got rid of their flight gear.

-

"It sounds big to me." Danny told her as they were leaving the landing area.

-

"That's just one of her catchphrases." Ron told the raven-haired boy, who nodded at that absentmindedly.

-

"Hey, does Wade have access to satellites that can scan an area?" Danny asked with a vacant look on his face.

-

"Yeah, why?" Kim asked as she pulled out her communicator.

-

"As we left the Amity Park area, I felt an absence of something in the air and when we landed I felt it again. I wanted Wade to scan both Wisconsin and Amity Park." Danny explained.

-

"Already on it Danny. And you're right, there's some vague energy surrounding both areas, though the stuff in Amity Park is more spread out." Wade said after typing something on his keyboard. "Maybe it's the Wisconsin Portal causing it. Sidney did say that there was one around here."

-

"I hope that it doesn't cause problems for us." Danny said as they made their way to Wisconsin's largest wheel of Swiss cheese.

=

Danny, Kim, and Ron walked up to the building made of cheese. It really was gigantic, and full of holes. The closest hole was twenty feet high. The trio of heroes were debating on how to get inside one of the holes. Danny wanted to fly them up invisibly, Ron wanted to walk in the front door, and Kim wanted to take the tour and hop off at a hole.

-

"Why not use the hair dryer grappling hook I made you?" Wade asked as the three of them started to argue.

-

"When did you have time to make it?" Kim asked as she pulled out the item mentioned.

-

"I made it before you met the Phantom and all the other Ghosts and Spirits." Wade said before turning to Danny. "We can go over the database Aranea compiled after the mission." He said, which Danny nodded.

-

"I'll use my aura to make us lighter so the grappling hook can lift all of us." Danny told the other two.

-

Kim aimed the grappling hook and shot it at the bottom of the hole. Danny and Ron hugged her tightly to make it look realistic as Danny spread his aura to make everyone lighter. Kim hit the switch to reel them in, and they shot off quickly towards the hole Kim shot at. They crashed and flipped inside the hole and Danny ended up on top of Kim and had both of them blushing as he got off quickly.

-

"Guys! I see Drakken but not Shego." Ron said as he was laying down at the edge of the other side of the hole.

-

Danny and Kim joined Ron as they scanned the area for the glowing green girl. Danny spotted her talking to some goons on the other side of the lair and alerted Kim. "Good Job, Danny. I can barely see her, could be what Mr. Masters said about his ecto-sensors. She might have been affected by something related to the Infinite Realms." Kim told him as they made their way down the wall. Danny grabbed both of them and floated them down rather quickly.

-

The three of them hid behind some boxes and they made their way to the control console. "This is pretty easy." Ron said, which made Danny and Kim facepalm.

-

"That's what you think, sidekick." Shego said as she stood above them on some crates. "Who's the new boytoy Kimmy?" She asked in an amused tone.

-

"I'm a temp." Danny answered for his friend.

-

"Really Kimmy, you're replacing your sidekick. How scandalous." Shego said as she jumped down with her hands glowing.

-

Danny threw a punch instinctively as Shego came down and it threw her a few feet since she was in midair.

-

"I like this one. He can fight." Shego said as she lunged at Danny. This time being interfered by Kim with a flip kick. "Two against one? No fair, and I thought you were the heroes?" She asked sarcastically as she snapped her fingers and a bunch of goons appeared.

-

"Look who's talking about fairness." Kim remarked as she and Danny stood back-to-back. Ron hid away somewhere.

-

'Take care of Ron and Rufus for us please.' Danny thought to his ectopi familiars and they obeyed, flying off his shoulders. "You take the ones on the right while I take the left?" Danny asked rhetorically as the two of them started fighting the goons. Shego left them to it.

-

Kim jumped and smashed two goons heads together, knocking them out and one of their staffs falling to Danny. Danny picked it up and started taking out goons to his left and right. The staff stunning them as they got hit by it.

-

"You're really good at that." Kim said to him as she spin kicked another goon in his side.

-

"Yeah." Danny said as he dodged a staff wielded by a goon. "My mother made sure to teach me and my sister how to fight with plenty of weapons." He had spun the staff in his hands and hit the staff wielding goons on the head with the momentum. "Staff like weapons are my specialty." He said as he finished off the last of the goons on his side. "Need any help?" Danny asked Kim as she still had a few goons left.

-

"As if! Go after Shego, I'll be with you in a bit." Kim said as she was dodging some attacks.

-

Danny left Kim to deal with the goons herself and did what she said, finding Shego rather quickly. Or rather, she found Danny. "You're a bit late Temp." Shego said as there was beeping and alarms blaring at the console. This seemed to be what she was waiting for as magma came out of the hole the laser was drilling into.

-

Danny's ghost sense went off, and a large ghost appeared out of a portal. They were hunched in purple and white striped pajamas and had blue skin and yellow hair. The ghost looked at the hero and villain. "Do either of you want to be my friend?" He asked.

-

"Why would I be your friend, hunch backed loser?" Shego growled at the ghost.

-

This made the ghost mad, and a blue energy glowed out of his eyes and hands, and he blasted the green girl and Ice appeared where the blast landed. Danny got an idea. "I'll be your friend if you use your ice to cool down that lava over there." Danny said to the ghost in Gholric, which made the boy smile and immediately flew over and started blasting the magma and melted cheese.

-

Steam filled the area and Shego growled and she broke through the ice and lunged at Danny, only to be met with a swift kick by Kim. "What's with the steam?" Kim asked as she was on top of Shego and holding her down.

-

"I made a friend." Danny said with a grin on his face. "Do you have her?" He got a nod from her. "I'll go after Drakken and maybe find Ron." He said as he jumped off the platform they were on. He was listening around to find Drakken and heard him fighting someone and on closer inspection it was Ron. Danny made his way to them to help Ron.

-

By the time Danny got to Ron, the steam had cleared and he saw that both Drakken and Ron were just flailing their arms at each other. Ron noticed Danny. "A little help please!" Ron yelled just as a blue blast of energy froze both of their legs.

-

The ice ghost appeared beside Danny. "Friend! Did I do good?" He asked, hugging Danny tightly.

-

"Mostly, you froze my friend's legs along with my enemies. Could you possibly fix that for me?" Danny spoke to the ghost in English this time.

-

The ice ghost did just that and flew off to where Kim was supposed to be. He then brought her back in his arms with a frozen Shego. "Sorry. I didn't know who your friends was." The ice ghost said with an upset tinge to his voice.

-

"It's fine. I didn't tell you who my friends were. Thank you for unfreezing them." Danny patted his new friend's large shoulder after he put the girls down.

-

A green glow emanated from the frozen Shego and she broke free and immediately went to Drakken, freed him and jumped with him to a hovercraft and flew towards one of the holes. "This is NOT over, Kim Possible. Not by a long shot." Drakken yelled as they made it out of the cheese hole.

-

"I let the bad guys get away. I'm so sorry." Tears started to form in the ice ghost's eyes.

-

"Hey, buddy. It's alright. They were always gonna escape. It's not your fault." Danny tried to comfort the crying ghost.

-

"Yeah, we didn't tell you to freeze them. So how could you think of freezing the hole they were in?" Ron said, recognizing that this was a good ghost.

-

"What's your name?" Kim asked as the four of them made their way out of the cheese wheel.

-

"K-Klemper." The ice ghost, now named Klemper, sniffed out as he was drying his freezing tears.

-

"Okay Klemper. Would it be alright if I scanned you, so we don't hurt you with weapons for our protection?" Kim asked, holding out her communicator.

-

"Okay." Klemper said, and stood (or floated) still for Kim to get his ecto-signature

-

A light shone from the prehensile eye on Kim's communicator and went over Klemper from top to bottom. When the light finished at the bottom of Klemper, the prehensile eye went back into the communicator. "All done." Kim said with a smile.

-

Klemper blinked a few times, seemingly waiting for her to say more. When he realized she meant it he spoke up. "You're much nicer than the other person who scanned me."

-

Danny latched onto that comment and was going to ask when Klemper saw something behind him and flew off. Danny turned around to find a gray-haired man coming towards the heroes. Danny recognized him from one of his parent's pictures from college. It was Vlad Masters.

-

"Was that a ghost Miss.Possible?" Mr. Masters asked as he reached us.

-

"Yes, but he was a good one. He helped save your laser from being enveloped by magma." Kim answered, hoping that this won't be a thing with him.

-

"Amazing. Thank you for letting me see it." Mr. Masters told her. Danny felt that he wasn't being sincere, and his ghost sense was going crazy around him.

-

"If you want to see a lot of ghosts, just come to Amity Park. It's full of ghost animals." Danny told his parents' old friend.

-

"I don't believe we met before. I'm Vlad Masters, and you are?" Mr. Masters asked with curiosity and contempt.

-

"I'm Danny Fenton. You used to be friends with my parents, right? They're really sorry about your accident. My parents cry just thinking about it." Danny said, trying to get sympathy points for his parents to get their old friend back.

-

"Truly?" Mr. Masters said with genuine surprise in his voice. He looked thoughtful for a few moments before looking angry for a split second. "It is sad to hear that. I may need to find a time to meet them in the near future." He told the raven-haired boy, and Danny felt an anger that was deep in its entirety.

-

"I hope so. They truly miss you." Danny told the man as he turned away from the teens. That stopped the man for a few moments and then he continued walking towards a group of vans with scientists in them. Kim pulled Danny away to talk to the police.

=

After the trio of heroes were finished talking to the police, Mr. Masters and his team of scientists had already left with the laser. 'They work fast.' Both Danny and Kim thought at the same time. Wade had set them up with another plane ride, this time a cargo plane.

-

"Okay Wade, you said you wanted to go over the database of Ghosts and Spirits that Aranea acquired right?" Danny asked as he was stretching his sore muscles.

-

"Yeah. Which do you want to learn about first: Ghosts or Spirits?" Wade asked, clicking on his keyboard to pull up the database.

-

The trio of teenagers looked at each other. "Ghosts." They all said in unison

-

"Let's start with the Ghosts we already know about. Box Ghost, the Lunch Lady Ghost, Sidney, and etc." Kim said to her computer friend.

-

"Okay, so the Box Ghost." Wade chose first. "It says that 'He is the weakest ghost in the area. A laughingstock to the other inhabitants. He's capable of manipulating any and all boxes.' Does that apply to all containers or just what are called boxes?" Wade asked, confused at the wording. "'He also has limited control over what is in the boxes he holds power over. He is not motivated to improve or change in any way.' That's gotta suck for you Danny. 'While he may be the weakest of the area, he owns a realm. It is small, but it is still an impressive feat. I wonder how he got it?' It seems that Aranea is putting their own opinions in the files. But that is all he has for him. No proper name or anything." Wade finished talking about the Box Ghost.

-

"I wonder what I need to do to get my own realm?" Danny pondered before Wade continued. "I'll ask Aranea when we get back." He decided quickly, the others only nodded.

-

"The next would be the Lunch Lady Ghost, whose proper name is Eunice." Wade told them. "'Eunice can control lunch meats. What is considered lunch meat? Would she be able to control living beings, humans are made of meat.' Don't like how Aranea wrote that. 'Outside of her lunch meat control, she is capable of temporarily making her body into meat that can separate from itself. Using this ability, Eunice can split her body, and mind I believe, into smaller versions of herself. She does not have a realm, which is odd as The Box Ghost has one. This is probably because of her lack of meat inside the Infinite Realms.' That's all he has on her." Wade said after he finished reading Eunice's file.

-

"It's probably taboo to talk about life before death." Kim suggested as we neared the drop zone. "We probably have time for one more file before we have to drop. We should get ready before we hear about the file Aranea got on Sidney." The others nodded to her and got ready with her. "Danny, have you skydived before?" She asked her raven haired friend.

-

"Not alone. It was mostly with my mother when I was younger." Danny answered automatically as he put on the suit. "Why? Is it hard? I know Ron can do it. No offense Ron." He said as he finished putting on the suit.

-

"None taken, dude." Ron was pretty chill about that. "But it does take practice to control it alone."

-

"Well, I could always fly by myself. Should I do that?" Danny asked as he sat back down. "I could use telekinesis to keep the parachute upright as I go down." He offered the option.

-

"I guess you could do that." Kim bit her lip before she continued. "Or you could strap in with me as we go down, save you from risking outing your ghost powers." Her face was as red as her hair. Ron noticed this and that Danny was blushing just as much and looking away.

-

"I don't know. Are you completely comfortable with that? Scylla and Charybdis could just fly us down." Danny offered another option that could be done.

-

"I'm fine with it. Let's keep the ectopi a secret for now, alright." Kim said with a firmness in her voice.

-

The file on Sidney was forgotten as Wade and Ron looked at Danny and Kim were buckling together their suits. Wade was silently laughing at the duo, and Ron didn't want to tell them that they weren't that close to the drop point yet.

=

Danny and Kim were grumbling at Ron as they walked through a portal into the Fenton's living room. They were still wearing the skydiving gear, but Kim and Danny were unbuckled.

-

"What made you two so angry?" Maddie asked from the couch. Refraining from badgering her son for running off.

-

"I need skydiving lessons." Was all Danny said as he hurried up to his room.

-+

"Do we wanna know what that was about?" Jazz asked, coming out of the kitchen and watching Danny run up the stairs.

-

"Kim and Danny had to be buckled together as we skydived from a cargo plane. They buckled Five minutes before we had to drop. Neither Wade nor I decided to remind them of that fact." Ron explained, barely dodging a swipe from Kim as he was laughing.

-

The Fenton's television flashed and Wade was on it. "Yeah, and somehow they got stuck like that. Not to mention that one of them could have phased out of it." Wade added, chuckling to himself.

-

"Yeah. It was so funny." Scylla told them.

-

"Both of their faces were so red." Charybdis added as both she and Scylla dodged a pillow from Kim.

-

"It's not funny." Kim said even as the others except Jazz in the room were chuckling.

-

"You have to admit it is a little funny." Maddie chuckled out.

-

"What's funny?" Jack asked as he came up from the lab wearing his hood and goggles, wiping the sweat from his mouth and chin.

-

"Just Danny being forgetful about his powers and skydiving buckled to Kim." Jazz answered her father, a bit upset that her brother would take advantage of the situation.

-

"Actually, Danny offered to use his powers in various ways." Kim told his friend's sister. "I just didn't want him to risk revealing his ghost powers to anyone." She explained.

-

"Oh, that's better." Jazz breathed a sigh of relief. "Do you perhaps like him?" She teased the globetrotting hero.

-

"No! I mean yes. I mean, ugh. I'm leaving." Kim stammered and left for the front door.

-

Maddie grinned as the redhead that wasn't her daughter closed the front door behind her. "I guess we know what that means."

-

"Yeah. I have only ever seen her act that way when she talked about Josh Mankey." Ron said that as if everyone knew who that was.

-

"I don't know who this Monkey person was, but I could definitely feel Danny's heart race as he tried to come up with other ideas." Scylla said after finding Ron not saying any more.

-

Waiting a moment for more information Jazz spoke up. "Do we help them along or wait for them to get together naturally?"

+

Danny was struggling to get out of his skydiving gear and finally got out of it. He was thinking about his options of stuff to do right now. 'I could go on patrol again. I probably need to make that a regular thing.' Danny thought as he crumpled up the skydiving suit and threw it in a hamper. "I wonder if Sid wants to hang out." Danny decided to say to his empty room. Danny wrote a note and made a portal to Sid. After a moment he got an answer and transformed before going to his realm.

-

Danny landed in front of a gray version of his school. Sidney was waiting at the entrance of the building. Other people were staring at Danny as he made his way to Sidney. "Hey Sid. How have you been? Sorry I couldn't hang out earlier today." Danny said to the gray ghost.

-

"Same old, same old." Sid shrugged. "I heard that you had a run in with the hunter Skulker. Tell me, did you win?" He asked as they gathered a crowd.

-

"Uh, yeah. If I didn't I wouldn't be here." Danny answered, getting nervous about the crowd watching him. "Why is everyone staring at us?" He asked, pulling at his collar as if it was getting tighter.

-

"Right, duh. And on the staring part, one, you're made of colors, and two, nobody believed that I made friends with a halfa. This is going to make me so popular." Sidney said with glee in his voice

-

Danny chuckled at his ghost friend's happiness. "Hope you don't forget about me when fame hits you." He said with a smile.

-

That took the smile off Sid's face. "Of course not, friend. I would never stoop so low as to be what you would call an 'A-Lister'." Sid said with finality. "Now, tell me about your fight with Skulker." Danny did just that as he got used to the crowd surrounding the two of them

=

"That reminds me, I need to release him." Danny said after he finished telling about his second battle with Skulker. This was met with a mixed reaction, some people saying they feared for their afterlives, others wanted to see a fight.

-

"Are you sure that's wise?" Sid asked his half alive friend. "It sounded like you only just barely won those two fights. Are you sure you can win a third?" Sidney asked, worried about his haunt.

-

"I'm sure. I didn't suck up his suit body and only got the head. I have a theory that Skulker is actually tiny, and the hunting is an overcompensation of that." Danny explained as he reached into one of his portals and pulled out the thermos. Danny took off the cap and released Skulker. The head was all that came out. Danny picked it up and shook it. I green blob screamed as it fell from inside the helmet.

-

"Damn you, Phantom." Skulker said as he stood back up as everyone laughed at him. "Do you know how long it takes to grow my suit back from nothing?" He said as he started to fly off. He stopped for a moment and turned back to the ghost hero. "You did good. Keep my helmet as a trophy." Skulker then flew off with surprising speed.

-

"Neat." Danny said with a smile as he spun the helmet in the air.

-

"That was Skulker? The famed hunter Spirit that faced Behemoth and walked away? He was so puny." A jock said from the front row of the crowd.

-

"That just goes to show you that the small can always become a threat." Sidney told the jock. "You should be careful around me now, as I have the backing of Phantom, the halfa that defeated Skulker in a fair fight." Sid cringed a little at saying that last part.

-

Danny a hand on Sidney's shoulder. "Yeah. I, Danny Phantom, give Sidney Poindexter my backing and if any of you hurt him I will come after you." Danny said that with the intention to protect his ghost friend, but a light emanated from Sidney as he grew some color and a line of energy came from him to Danny.

-

"Oh, wow. That feels amazing." Sid said as he put a hand onto his chest.

-

"What just happened?" Danny whispered to Sidney

-

"Think when you named Scylla and Charybdis but bigger." Sidney whispered back and Danny nodded.

-

The crowd looked on in awe at what was happening. There were apologies spread out amongst the front of the crowd.

-

"Sidney, why don't you take me somewhere private and explain a few things to my ignorant self." Danny whispered to his formerly gray friend.

-

"You're right. Let's go to the A.V. club room." Sid whispered back. He turned to the portion of the crowd blocking the entrance of the school. "I need to talk to my backer privately. Could you kindly move aside so we can do that?" Sidney said as the group split in the middle giving enough room for both Sidney and Danny to walk past.

-

The two ghosts made it to the A.V. club room and when they made it inside, Sidney made the door glow twice. "That was to keep it locked and to keep the noise we make from getting out." Sid explained after seeing the question on Danny's face. Danny nodded and sat down on one of the chairs.

-

Danny now got a good look at Sidney's new look. Brown combover hair on top of pale opaque Caucasian skin, white shirt with a dark green bowtie on top of brown plaid pants. "You look good Sid. I like the colors." Danny said as he didn't know how to start the conversation.

-

"Thank you." Sid smiled at Danny. "Now, about what just happened. You officially gave me your backing, which binds me to you. Now before you start worrying about that, it doesn't give you total control over me." He said seeing Danny start to fidget. "Giving someone weaker your backing gives them a portion of what your power is at the time. I now have to practice new powers thanks to it. Could you help with that?" Sidney asked his half alive friend.

-

"Of course. But first, can I try something first? After I named Scylla and Charybdis, I meditated and they grew even more powerful. Do you want to try that?" Danny asked his newly bonded friend.

-

"A chance to get new powers? Yes!" Sidney exclaimed as he sat across from Danny. "What do I need to do?" He asked.

-

"I don't know. I didn't think to ask Scylla or Charybdis what their perspective was about the whole thing, but they weren't involved the first time. You may not need to do anything, but to be safe, just try to clear your mind as you look into your new powers." Danny explained as he pulled up his feet to sit crosswise.

-

"Okay. Whatever you say." Sid copied Danny to the best of his ability.

-

Danny entered his trance quite easily and found the same large orb he made before, but now it was surrounded by new small gray orbs. Danny decided to wait a few moments before doing something and the orbs flew next to him and swirled around a figure that turned out to be Sid after the orbs dispersed back around the large orb.

-

"Whoa. This is mind boggling." Sidney said as he saw all the orbs. "Is that large one yours?" He asked and Danny nodded. "And the small ones are mine then?" He got another nod.

-

"You just need to push them together and that makes it larger. I'd recommend doing pairs at a time, but you should listen to your own energy on how you go about it." Danny explained to his ghostly friend.

-

Sidney was moving his hands, but nothing was changing with the orbs Danny saw. Danny was going to say something before seeing a smile on Sid's face. Danny surmised that Sid was building his own core. 'I'll wait until he's done before messing with the orbs around mine.' Danny thought

-

After a few moments Sid sighed happily. "I got two large orbs of different colors. Do I combine those?" He asked and got a nod from Danny. This took some effort for the newly colored ghost, but after a moment, he accomplished it. Sidney glowed after the effort, so did the orbs surrounding Danny's orb.

-

"Okay, give me a moment to combine the orbs that I theorize symbolize the bond we made. They haven't moved since you started, but are now glowing along with you, so I think they are ready to move." Danny said as he did as he did the last time he meditated. He felt power from each of the orbs he touched as he combined them.

After Danny finished combining the little orbs, he was left with a medium sized orb next to his large orb. "I finished combining your orbs and am now putting it into my orb." Danny informed Sid as he did so. There was little resistance, it was as if Danny's orb was sucking in Sid's orb.

After Danny did that, Sid's glow was blinding and knocked Danny out of the meditative trance. After the glow subsided, the room got some color. Sidney looked taller and had a green tint to his skin, his shirt was silver while his pants were bronze, his tie was glowing a bright green and looked as if it was on fire.

-

"That felt amazing! I feel so much power right now. I think my senses are even sharper than before." Sidney said in Gholric. He caught that he spoke the Spirit's language and pumped both of his fists. "Can I hug you?" He asked in English. Danny accepted and Sidney squeezed him tightly.

-

"You look really powerful right now." Danny said as he was still in Sidney's arms. "I think this affected the rest of your school." Danny informed his ghostly friend.

-

Sidney let go of Danny and really looked around. "Let's go see if this affected the whole school." Sid said as he undid what he did to the door. Danny only nodded and followed the newly empowered ghost.
