Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 — Watching the Rise of New Heroes

Through my scrying spell, I observed every moment with meticulous attention. Kai's training had begun in earnest under Master Wu, and he was learning at an astonishing rate. His reflexes, his understanding of elemental flow, and his raw determination all grew exponentially. Watching him, I noted every strength and weakness, committing them to memory for future reference.

Wu introduced Kai to the other ninja—Cole, Jay, Zane, and Nya—and I observed their interactions. Each had unique abilities, personalities, and temperaments. Even now, their coordination was imperfect, but that would improve with time. Every moment of their growth was a lesson for me, a way to anticipate how they would react in future conflicts.

The acquisition of the Scythe of Quakes was the first real test. The skeletons guarding it fell one by one, and I analyzed their movements, Kai's strategy, and the subtle ways he adapted to danger. I noted his instincts, his improvisation, and how he responded under pressure.

Next came the encounter with the Earth Dragon. The creature was a formidable opponent, yet the Ninja managed to evade it with a combination of skill and luck. I observed every spell, every move, and every moment of tension. Mastering Spinjitsu, they managed to escape the dragon's clutches—a feat I cataloged carefully.

Their journey continued. The Shurikens of Ice, hidden in the frozen temple, tested their endurance and teamwork. I studied how each ninja's powers complemented one another, where their flaws emerged, and how the environment influenced their decisions. The precision with which they moved, even in the harsh cold, was impressive—but still far from enough to challenge someone of my level.

Finally, they scaled the mountain to acquire the Nunchucks of Lightning. I watched as they battled natural hazards, traps, and enemies, slowly becoming a cohesive team. Their abilities grew with each acquisition, and I noted the elemental balance of their powers—the fire of Kai, the ice of Zane, the lightning of Jay, the earth of Cole, and the water of Nya.

I felt no fear, only curiosity and calculation. These children were growing stronger, yes—but my own power dwarfed theirs. My armies, my magical mastery, my Oni enhancements, and my command over time and elemental forces ensured that I could intervene—or manipulate events—without ever revealing myself.

For now, I continued to watch. Every training session, every battle, every victory and failure was information. I would remember it all, and when the time came, I could use it to my advantage.

The new generation of Ninja had begun their journey. I would ensure I knew every step they took.

The shadows stretched long across Ninjago, and I remained unseen, patient, and vigilant.

The game had begun, and I was already several moves ahead.
