The woman's lips pressed tightly together, almost giving her the look of a fish.
Blake's grip only tightened.
The spear had long since fallen to the ground. Now, the woman clutched Blake's left hand with both of hers, struggling to free herself.
"Duty this… duty that… tsk."
Blake rolled his eyes as he stared straight at her.
"My duty? It is to slay monsters."
He paused for only a moment.
"My duty is to offer their bodies to the God of War. My duty is to drink their blood and erase their pathetic existence from this world."
Then he let her go. She fell with a dull thud, landing hard.
"Ouch…"
Her voice was quiet. It was drowned out by Blake's rising intensity.
"My duty is to fight."
The woman could only stare at him.
"So tell me… what duty have I not fulfilled?"
She didn't interrupt this time. She heard him clearly and perhaps understood, just a little.
