KAYLA'S POV (Continuing):
We quickly gathered around, dragging chairs closer, opening the boxes, stealing slices before anyone could properly divide them. The smell of melted cheese and spices filled the room, and for a few blissful moments, life was perfect.
I had just taken the biggest, most satisfying bite of my slice when the classroom door slammed open again.
Luke came sprinting in, out of breath, looking like he had just escaped a crime scene.
"PRINCIPAL IS COMING!"
Silence.
Pure, horrified silence.
Then,
"What?!"
"What?!"
"ARE YOU SERIOUS?!"
Everyone exploded into panic.
Chaos erupted instantly.
Someone nearly dropped a whole pizza.
Someone else shoved a box under a chair.
Leon hissed, "Hide it! Hide it!"
"WHERE?!" I whisper-screamed, clutching my slice like it was my child.
"There's no time!" Anna cried.
Then, in the stupidest decision ever made in human history, someone yelled,
"THROW IT ON THE CEILING!"
And somehow… somehow… that became the plan.
Within seconds, slices of pizza were being flung upward like frisbees.
One.
Two.
Three.
They stuck.
On the ceiling.
Like greasy, cheesy decorations from hell.
I stared in disbelief. "Oh my God… it worked."
"Hide the boxes!" Sevi shouted.
Theo grabbed the empty boxes and shoved them into the dustbin so violently the bin nearly tipped over.
Everyone scrambled back to their seats.
We sat down so fast it was almost impressive.
Hands folded.
Faces innocent.
Breathing heavy.
Just as the principal walked in.
The room went so still you could hear the fan creaking above us.
She stepped inside with a sympathetic expression, hands clasped in front of her.
"Hello, students…"
We all stared at her like angels.
"I'm so sorry to say your teacher couldn't make it today because of her accident…"
She sighed sadly.
"You must all be missing her very much, right?"
