KAYLA'S POV (Continuing):
The second I stepped inside, I tossed my shopping bags carelessly onto the couch and twirled dramatically into the living room like I owned the place.
Which, honestly, I kind of did.
I caught my reflection in the glass cabinet and grinned.
Then, because the house was empty and I was fabulous, I started singing at the top of my lungs.
"Who's that sexy thing I see over there?"
I pointed at my reflection.
"That's me, standin' in the mirror..."
I spun again, flipping my hair.
"What's that icy thing hangin' 'round my neck? Mm…"
I touched the gold necklace I had just bought and smirked at myself.
"That's gold, show me some respect, oh-ah,"
I strutted across the room like I was on a runway, heels clicking against the floor.
"I thank God every day, uh-huh, that I woke up feelin' this way, uh-huh..."
I threw my arms out dramatically.
"And I can't help lovin' myself"
I pointed both thumbs at my chest.
"And I don't need nobody else, n-no!"
Then I gave myself a full diva spin and belted the chorus like I was performing in front of a sold-out stadium.
"If I was you, I'd wanna be me too.."
"I'd wanna be me too."
"I'd wanna be. me too..."
I was mid-dance, mid-hair flip, and mid-self-worship when I suddenly froze.
There, leaning casually against the doorway like he had been standing there for God knows how long, was Theo.
Watching me.
My soul nearly left my body.
"Theo!" I yelped, clutching my chest. "What are you doing here?! You scared me!"
He looked far too amused for my liking.
"Looks like you forgot I was home too."
I glared at him.
"How would I know? You're either locked in your room or out somewhere. You're never wandering around the house like me."
He folded his arms, still smirking.
"Clearly."
