Looking at the woman standing before him, Javier Sinclair lowered his head slightly and met her smiling eyes.
Through the fabric of her clothes, he could feel the baby moving actively under his hand.
His fingers remained still, but a dazed look crossed his face.
Javier Sinclair believed someone like him was supposed to be cold-blooded and ruthless, incapable of any real emotion. Yet, as he felt the baby's movements beneath his fingers, his heart felt as if it had been scalded, overcome by an indescribable feeling.
Celeste Grant started to laugh.
"So? Is he moving?"
Javier Sinclair gave a calm "mhm" before speaking. "Yes. He's very strong."
"He's fine during the day, mostly quiet. But at night, he's full of energy. I can't sleep well carrying him. Look at these dark circles. I've even been losing a bit of hair lately."
As she spoke, her gaze flickered to his hair.
Javier Sinclair remained silent.
He finally understood why she had been staring at his hair earlier.
