Faye Vaughn watched him, and for some reason, she found it a little amusing, yet also a little infuriating.
She said flatly, "Don't worry, I didn't touch it."
Wyatt Hawthorne frowned at her but didn't mention the hair tie. Instead, he asked in a low voice, "What did you and Zane Shelby talk about?"
Faye chose the part she could share and answered honestly, "He wants me to go to Stellaport. He said he's conducting some sort of miraculous experiment and asked me to come take a look."
Wyatt's tone turned a little colder. "Did you agree?"
Faye gave a noncommittal answer. "I'm still considering it. The terms he offered are very tempting."
Wyatt narrowed his deep, dark eyes and suddenly scoffed. "What terms? Did he promise to help you save Liam Linden and his mother?"
Faye was taken aback for a moment, then snapped angrily, "Did you have someone follow me? Did you plant a listening device on me?"
