Wyatt Hawthorne took a step closer to Faye Vaughn. He pinched her chin with two fingers, forcing her delicate, pale face up. "I called you here to warn you: don't get clever. You have no idea what kind of person Zane Shelby is. If I find out you've contacted him again, don't blame me for taking measures."
Wyatt's tone was icy, his gaze chillingly dark. Only now was he showing any real emotion.
Faye Vaughn was forced to tilt her head up. She wrenched her face away, breaking free from his grip. "We can talk about Zane Shelby later. But Joanna Linden—"
Wyatt coldly interrupted her. "Mention that woman's name one more time, and I'll have someone throw her out of the hospital."
Faye Vaughn rubbed her slightly sore jaw. 'So I really did cross his line.'
'Maybe I don't need to worry too much? Joanna Linden is in the hospital, and it doesn't look like she's being denied treatment.'
But for some reason, she couldn't shake a feeling of unease.
