Having come this far, Zhao Ling'e had nothing left to hide. She carefully explained why she suspected her father and brother were in trouble. "Your Highness, my father is devoted to teaching and nurturing students, and my brother is dedicated to studying ancient texts. Although they are of the main family line, they don't really concern themselves with clan affairs. Ever since I heard about the trouble in Huizhou, I have been restless, unable to sleep day or night. I had no other choice but to ask Mrs. Zhao to come to the palace to probe for information, but I never expected…"
"I beg Your Highness to plead my case before the Emperor and ask him to send someone to Linfeng to investigate. I ask for nothing else, only that my father and brother are safe. I will never forget Your Highness's immense kindness for as long as I live. For the rest of my life, I am at Your Highness's command, without question."
Song Yunzhao looked at Zhao Ling'e, quite surprised.
