Xin Huohuo stared blankly at the completely empty room. It was quite clean, though—none of the dust, cobwebs, or grimy windows she'd expected to find in a vacant space.
But where was the bed? There had to be a bed, at least!
Seeing Xin Huohuo's stunned expression, Yan Huo suddenly realized the problem too. "How about this? I bought a pretty good sleeping bag for a camping trip. I can get it for you to make do with for now."
"That works for me," Xin Huohuo nodded.
As Yan Huo went to get the sleeping bag, he thought to himself that he was being far too kind to this mortal woman who had brought harm to his Master.
After finally getting settled, Xin Huohuo, surprisingly, still wasn't hungry. She just felt a heat in her stomach that seemed to be rising into her throat, which was very uncomfortable. Moreover, her whole body ached, a deep soreness that felt like it was in her very bones.
