Gu Shuxin stopped in her tracks and looked at the car that had pulled up in front of her.
At first, Gu Shuxin thought the car had stopped for someone to get in or out, and she was blocking the way. But she quickly realized that wasn't the case.
The car door opened before her. However, the person inside just looked at Gu Shuxin with no intention of getting out, and there was no one around trying to get in.
After a moment, the man in the car looked at Gu Shuxin and spoke.
"Miss Gu, get in."
Gu Shuxin was startled and looked up at him.
"You... you know me?"
The man before her wasn't just impeccably dressed; the car itself was a luxury few could afford.
If she had ever met someone like him, she certainly wouldn't have forgotten.
But she had no memory of him at all, yet he knew her by name.
"Of course. I'd like to invite you to dinner, Miss Gu. I wonder if you would do me the honor?"
"Why... why do you want to treat me to dinner?"
