[IRIS POV]
There were seven people surrounding Martin's bedside― two old couples, a middle-aged couple, and a young girl, all in various stages of panic, their attire in a mess. His entire family must have rushed down to the infirmary the moment they got the news of Martin's condition.
All of them had identical looks of relief when they caught sight of Healer Felix, eagerly shuffling back to make room, but their faces turned furious when they registered my presence beside him.
"How dare you show up here!" the middle-aged woman exclaimed. I guessed that was his mother. "Get lost, you jinx! Or are you here to gloat!" Her voice cracked at the end, and a sob escaped her.
Her cheeks were a splotchy red. Paired with swollen eyes and the wet tear tracks on her face, she clearly had been crying over her son's condition.
