Chapter 20 - Chapter 20- Loud noise in a hospital

Chris was with the twins and Jayden, and after he explained how he knew Luna, the group was visibly shocked.

Jayden: "I never thought you'd be the wise type one day, Luna."

Luna: "Honestly, I didn't even realize I was being wise when I did that."

"Sounds like you."

Chris: "That wisdom of yours saved me from the despair I was drowning in that day. You may not remember me, but there's no way I could forget your face."

Luna : "But Chris, I didn't sense any magical stone energy from you two years ago."

"That's because I inherited my mother's stone powers four months after our encounter."

"Your mother was a stone wielder?"

"Yes. She kept it hidden from both my late father and me. After she passed away, her powers were passed down to me. When we first met, I was with her on a work trip to another country."

Jayden: "Same here. My father was a stone wielder too, but he never told my mother or me. After his death, one of his close friends took it upon himself to teach me how to use my powers."

Chris : "As for me, my trainer was a woman — a friend of my mother. She taught me a great deal from a book she owns, filled with information to help stone wielders master their powers."

Yuna: "Do you still have that book?"

"Of course. I keep it with me at home always."

Jayden: "Anyway, let's get back to the main issue — the attack on me by the Fauvism agents."

Yuna: "Are you sure they were behind the fire?"

"Not entirely, but Chris says something similar happened to him before, and I trust him."

"So what do we do now?"

Luna: "We surrender and let them kill us."

All of them : "WHAT?!"

Luna: "I'm kidding. We fight back and kick their sorry asses."

Jayden: "But how do we figure out their next move?"

Chris: "If I had to guess, they'll try to attack you again… or someone dear to you."

Yuna: "They didn't attack the baker or the woman who works in your father's bakery. And they haven't touched me or Luna yet."

Luna: "That's odd. Usually, their pattern is predictable."

Jayden: "Wait… there's someone else dear to me they might target."

Yuna: "Who is it?"

"Rossi."

---

Meanwhile, at the hospital, a nurse had just brought Rossi his lunch.

The Nurse : "Here you go, sir. A healthy lunch just as prescribed — eat it and you'll feel better."

Rossi: "Thank you, nurse."

"You're welcome!"

"Could I ask you for a small favor?"

"What is it?"

"I'd really like some chocolate. Or sweets. Anything, really."

"Excuse me?"

"Please — I know it's silly. I'm supposed to be on this diet but I'm so tired of it. Just this once."

The Nurse (sighing with a smile) : "Alright, but only this once. Don't make this a daily thing."

Rossi: "It'll be the first and last time. I promise."

"I'll be right back with something sweet. Eat your lunch in the meantime."

"Yes, ma'am."

She left the room and headed off to get Rossi his request. But while he was eating, a strange man entered the room — someone Rossi had never seen before.

He was tall, muscular, brown skinned with red hair and brown eyes.

His description matched the man who had previously shown up at Jayden's father's bakery asking about him.

Rossi stared at the intimidating stranger and asked him curious

Rossi: "Excuse me, sir… may I help you?"

"I only have one request for you."

"And what's that?"

"It's..."

But before the man could finish, Rossi's phone rang.

Rossi: "Sorry, I need to take this. We can talk after."

The man smirked.

"Go ahead. Take your time."

He stepped out of the room as Rossi answered the call — it was from an unknown number.

Jayden (on phone): "Rossi, are you alright?"

Rossi: "Yes, boss . Why? Is something wrong?"

"Listen carefully — I'm on my way to you. If anything strange happens, call me immediately."

" Actually, a weird guy just came into my room."

"Describe him."

"Red hair. Tall—"

"Brown skinned , muscular, brown eyes?"

"Yes! How did you—?"

"Don't trust him. He's dangerous. Call the police, or run. I'll be there soon."

"Got it."

Just as he was about to hang up, the man re-entered the room.

Rossi: "If you hurt me, Jayden will kill you. And the security cameras are recording everything."

"Cameras?" The man laughed " They won't help you. I overheard part of your little chat — sounds like it involved me, didn't it?"

"I didn't say anything bad about you."

"Oh, really?"

The red-haired man stepped forward slowly. Rossi suddenly felt the air around him grow heavy and tight — like it was strangling him.

The man was an Air Stone Wielder — he was manipulating the pressure around Rossi to choke him.

In pain and panic, Rossi grabbed his lunch tray and hurled it at the stranger, who dodged it easily.

He made a break for the window, but the man grabbed his arm and sneered.

" Where do you think you're going ? I came to visit, and this is how you treat me ? "

Rossi: "You're the worst guest I've ever had."

The man slammed Rossi to the floor and said

"Now… it's time for you to slowly suffocate."

He raised his hand again to manipulate the air pressure, but just then, the nurse returned — holding a bag of sweets.

"Mr. Rossi? What's going on? And who are you?"

The man turned toward her, grinning wickedly.

"You brought me sweets? How kind of you."

The Nurse asked him puzzled

"They're for Mr. Rossi. Now who exactly are you?"

"An old friend. We have things to discuss."

The nurse could tell he was lying. She threw the bag of sweets at him — he dodged it effortlessly.

She rushed to Rossi's side and tried to help him up, but the man struck her in the back, knocking both of them down and commented

"Brave, aren't you, nurse?"

Rossi: "How could you? Hurting a woman like that!"

"I like being scum. Got a problem with that?"

"You bastard!"

The man kicked Rossi, then walked to the door, locked it and said

"This room is large and soundproof. Perfect for some private fun."

As he turned away, the nurse saw her chance. She grabbed a chair and smashed it over his head, leaving a cut — not deep, but enough to stun him.

He held his head, then slapped her hard, sending her crashing to the ground.

Despite his injuries, Rossi lunged with a syringe and stabbed it into the man's shoulder.

He pulled it out, intending to strike again, but the man grabbed Rossi's arm and used air pressure to crush the bones.

Rossi screamed in agony as the man kicked him repeatedly, then planted a foot on his face saying

"If you hadn't resisted, I'd have killed you quickly. But now… it's time to die."

Just then, the nurse — in a final act of courage — stabbed the man in the stomach with another syringe.

He screamed in pain, then shoved her aside, pulled out a battle axe and killed her on the spot.

Rossi was stunned — not just by the nurse's tragic death, but by the sheer power of the man who'd murdered her. She had been kind, gentle, and never hurt a soul… and now she lay dead protecting him.

Rossi wept — from grief, guilt, and fear.

The man stepped over and mocked him.

"Crying? What kind of man are you?"

Rossi: "You're the disgrace, not me. No matter how strong you are, you raised your hand against a defenseless woman!"

"Defenseless? I gave her the chance to flee. But she stayed, like an idiot. That's on her."

"You monster!"

Consumed by rage, Rossi threw himself at the man with his bare hands. He didn't care about the axe or the danger. He had to fight.

The man dodged and blocked Rossi's blows, then countered with a punch to the gut and a kick that knocked him down again.

He raised his axe to finish him…

But then — A powerful punch sent the red-haired man flying through the window.

It was Jayden.

He had finally arrived — with the twins and Chris at his side.

Yuna rushed to Rossi, beginning to heal him.

Jayden stood by the shattered window, glaring at the man he had just punched out of the room.

Chris checked the nurse's pulse… but it was too late.

Chris: "She's dead."

Rossi: (through tears) "It's my fault. If I hadn't asked her to come back, she wouldn't have met that bastard…"

Jayden: "Her death won't be in vain. I'll send that bastard to hell."

Yuna: "You're not going alone. We're a team — we fight together."

"No. This one's mine. You all take care of Rossi. I'm going to go kick that bastard's ass."

He leapt from the window, landing in the hospital garden where the red-haired man lay.

The man stood, as Jayden slowly approached, keeping a calculated distance.

It was the calm before the storm.

Jayden: "Let's take this somewhere else. This is a hospital — not a battlefield."

The Stranger said

"You're the infamous Jayden Durbin. An honor to meet you. Very well… follow me. I know a place."

With great leaps, the red-haired man bounded away from the hospital. Jayden followed — both prepared for a fierce battle.
