Chapter 55 - Ch 55 - The Leaders' Invitation

Yossan folded the paper and slipped it into his pocket. David asked him,

"Sir, are you really going to that place mentioned in the letter?"

"Yes. In two days, I'll go. I think Murphy will come too. I'm sure he wants to see the face of the Moon Division leader we've never met before."

"Should I go with you?"

"The letter says I should come alone, so you can't join me."

"That's so annoying. Who does that bastard think he is, sending a letter like that?"

"He thinks he's a leader. Or rather, he is a leader. That's why we really need to give him more importance and stop underestimating him."

On the other side, Murphy had also received the same invitation to the same place as Yossan. The letter was written in Aiden's own handwriting. Murphy decided he too would go there in two days, alone.

As for the Ribwan twins, they returned with Jayden and Melvin to their base after securing Teresa and Xiao in safe places. They also sent the captured enemies to a secret location under Melvin's orders.

When they entered through the main hall, they were surprised to see Chris, William, Sony, Clara and Salvador running toward them, asking a flood of questions.

Chris: "Are you all okay?"

Clara : "Thank God you're back."

William : "How did things go?"

Salvador : "Is it true you captured two enemies?"

Luna: "Three actually. Two leaders and one of their followers. We're fine, everything went well , Why are you asking so many questions? Just let us rest."

Yuna: "Luna, what kind of rude answer is that?"

Yuna shoved Luna aside, then said with an apologetic smile, "Sorry for my dumb twin's attitude but she already answered your questions. Anyway, we should rest now. Thanks for worrying about us."

Jayden : "Yeah, I'm tired too. I want to rest a bit."

Luna and Yuna went to their rooms, and Jayden did the same, finally able to relax after all the chaos. Melvin started leaving as well but Chris asked him,

"Where are you going, Commander?"

Melvin: "I have a few things I need to finish. Unfortunately, we commanders don't get much time to rest."

"Can I help with anything?"

"Actually, yes. Come with me."

"Alright."

Chris left with Melvin, both heading out of the base to somewhere else.

Meanwhile, Kuro woke up to find himself in a cell, tied with icy threads to a chair. He looked to the side and saw Merrick sitting on a bed inside the same cell.

Kuro: "So, are you here to keep me company or what?"

Merrick: "No. I'm here to guard you in case you try to escape."

"Oh, I'll escape for sure. Even if you manage to guard me now, once I regain my strength, I'll break out."

"Listen, we could've just cut off your hands and feet, then had Yuna heal you. She'd do a perfect job. After that, we could've interrogated you. But we didn't—so don't provoke me."

"Yuna has nothing to do with this."

"Shut up."

Merrick smacked Kuro on the head, knocking him out again. Just then, Tristan appeared at the cell door.

Tristan: "Hey, what's all the noise?"

Merrick: "Nothing. Kuro woke up, so I put him back to sleep."

"Good. But be careful, he's a valuable catch."

"Yeah, your turn to watch him will come later."

"Guarding prisoners is so boring."

"Tell me about it."

While they talked, Tia entered and said,

"Boys, I just want to thank you again for helping me capture Kuro."

Tristan: "Anytime, Commander."

Earlier, when the accident happened with Jayden's mother and the twins' friend, two missions had been postponed. But Aiden came up with a new plan. He discovered where Kuro would be, alone and decided to capture him, knowing Kuro was an important member of the National Division.

Tristan and Merrick had gone with Commander Tia to the spot where Kuro was. He had some followers with him but they weren't strong, so the team easily defeated them and captured Kuro.

Afterward, Tia went up to the surface while Merrick and Tristan took turns guarding Kuro. She pulled out her weapon and began training by herself.

By evening, Aiden was sitting on his throne in his palace, talking with Milo about recent events.

Milo: "So, the twins did well with the new invention?"

Aiden: "Yes. It helped them use their powers to the fullest. Both of them fought with four elements for a long time, thanks to that device."

Milo stayed quiet for a moment, then asked,

"What will you talk about with Murphy and Yossan in two days, Chief?"

Aiden: "You might not believe it, but we'll be arranging special matches—if they both agree or one of them agree "

"I don't get it. What do you mean?"

Aiden explained that he had gone to see the Archive scholars . He told them he intended to take back what was stolen from his father and rebuild the Moon Division. They couldn't refuse, since it was his right. But one of them suggested something: organizing several matches between the three divisions, where the winner would control the entire Fauvism.

At first, Aiden hadn't accepted the idea but he said he would think about it. And Murphy and Yossan had to know about this plan and agree too.

That was what Aiden told Milo.

Milo: "They didn't explain what kind of matches these would be?"

Aiden: "No, they didn't. They just said they'd tell us the details if we agreed first."

"In my opinion, that's risky, leader."

"I know. But trust me, it's the best option."

"Why is it the best? Can't we just keep fighting the National and Fighter Divisions without relying on matches we don't even know anything about it ?"

"Because if we win those matches, we'll control everything. The National and Fighter Divisions will officially be under us, whether they like it or not. Also, if we keep fighting randomly—even though we're strong—if Murphy and Yossan join forces properly and figure out our strategy, they might find a weakness and beat us. They're strong too."

"I see. So it's risky either way. But if we win those organized matches, it'll be better than just winning in random battles."

"Exactly. And if we find the matches don't suit us, we won't take part in them."

Meanwhile, the twins were sitting in the kitchen of their base, eating while they talked.

Yuna: "So, Chris and Melvin will keep an eye on Karaido, while Salvador and Clara will watch Tatsuka."

Luna: "Yeah, that's what I heard. And I also heard your brother Kuro got captured. Merrick and Tristan are guarding him."

Yuna's eyes widened in shock.

Yuna: "What?! Did that really happen?"

Luna: "Of course it happened. Do I look like I'm joking?"

"I want to see him."

"Are you crazy, Yuna? Why would you want that?"

"I need to talk to him about something important."

"You're hiding something from me, aren't you, idiot?"

"No, annoying girl. I just want to tell him to leave the National Division and join the Moon Division with us."

Luna chuckled lightly.

Luna: "You won't succeed in convincing him, Yuna."

Yuna: "But—"

"I don't mean to discourage you, but he's not the same boy you grew up with anymore."

Yuna went quiet for a moment, not continuing. Then Luna added,

"Still, you should try. I believe you have a way of persuading people."

Yuna: "Really? Then should we go see him now?"

"Let's go. We'll look for him first."

Kuro was being held in a place not far from the twins' base. After finding out the location, the two of them teleported instantly to get there.

They suddenly appeared in front of the guards at the spot where Kuro was being kept. The place was a flat field with tents for Moon Division followers, a moving wagon, and a small hut.

Luna raised her hand to the people there—who were their comrades too, since they were all Moon Division members—and said,

"Brothers, we're with you. Don't be afraid of us."

One of the men answered,

"You two… the red-haired girls. The famous Ribwan twins."

Luna: "Uh, yeah, that's us."

Luna looked at Yuna and whispered,

"I didn't think we'd become this famous."

Yuna: "Neither did I."

Just then, a voice called out,

"Hello there."

The twins turned to see Commander Tia. They ran to her and hugged her.

Tia: "What brings you two here girls ?"

Yuna: "We came to see Kuro."
