The twins split, each facing an opponent alone.
Luna waited for Kuro to make his move, while Yuna kept her eyes on David. But neither of them attacked.
All of them had sensed another presence—two strong energies were approaching. It was Hinami and Shiro.
The battle had suddenly grown more complicated. Now there were three sides against each other, which meant the fight would not end quickly.
Shiro lunged at Kuro, while Hinami went straight for Luna. Yuna and David, however, continued their duel.
Yuna kept her distance, firing lightning and ice at David but it wasn't enough. With his sharp winds, David easily tore apart her attacks and pressed forward.
Yuna quickly coated her shield and bow with iron she drew from the ruins around them. That way, she could block David's strange weapon with her iron shield and counter with her iron bow. Still, she noticed something odd—David wasn't fighting with all his strength. He was holding something back. Why? She didn't know.
After trading blows for a while, David suddenly vanished with teleportation. Yuna blinked in surprise. She scanned the battlefield, then remembered what Jayden had once told her: David had used the same trick before. When he couldn't land a hit, he had teleported away to surprise William instead.
Her heart raced. Then he must be going after Luna!
She sprinted to her twin's side and found Luna fighting Hinami—and winning. Just as Yuna expected, David appeared right behind Luna, ready to strike her while she was distracted.
"Not happening," Yuna muttered.
She hurled her iron-coated shield, charged with lightning, straight at David. He barely managed to block it with his weapon, stumbling back.
Both Luna and Hinami turned at the sound and Yuna dashed to stand beside her twin.
"Clever idea," Yuna said sharply, eyes on David. "If you took Luna by surprise, you could finish off Hinami easily after she was worn out. But too bad—I ruined your little plan."
David smirked. "Smart girl."
"So," Yuna asked, tightening her grip on her bow, "what now? Will you fight me seriously, or are you still undecided?"
"Fighting you is annoying," David admitted.
"Then I'll make you continue," Yuna shot back.
She launched a flurry of icy arrows, which David slashed apart. In the next instant, she teleported right in front of him and bashed him with her shield, forcing him back several steps.
David growled. Being mocked had pushed him too far. He gathered air energy into his hands and teleported around her, attacking from every direction at once.
Yuna braced herself, blocking with her iron shield, but the winds were too strong. Her shield shattered and David almost touched her with his special weapon—she escaped at the last second. She retaliated with icy arrows but he cut them down easily. Then he sent a swirling storm of cutting winds at her. The blast hit her directly, slashing her body.
She staggered back, trying to heal but David struck again with another storm. Yuna raised an ice barrier, but it shattered and David appeared behind her with teleportation, blasting her with sound waves that sent her crashing to the ground.
He walked toward her slowly as she sat injured on the dirt. "The Ribwan twins aren't strong when separated," he said. "Even if each of you has two weapons and two elements."
Yuna smiled through her pain. "Whoever told you that is either a fool… or doesn't know the truth."
David frowned. "What truth?"
"You'll see."
Suddenly, Yuna vanished with teleportation. David froze—she was using the air element. But that was impossible. Yuna wasn't supposed to have it.
He sensed a huge surge above him. Looking up, his eyes widened in shock. Gigantic icy arrows were raining down, crackling with lightning and infused with air as well.
He tried to block but the force was overwhelming. He teleported away just in time, though the storm of arrows still slashed him badly. Worse—those arrows were chasing him.
Three elements? Ice, lightning… and air? he thought, panic rising.
Dodging frantically, he didn't notice Yuna appear right behind him. With her iron shield, she shoved him hard, throwing him off balance. He stumbled straight into the path of the arrows.
They pierced into his body, knocking him to the ground. David collapsed unconscious.
Yuna stood over him, breathing heavily. Then a memory flashed through her mind.
Melvin's voice echoed: "Listen carefully, girls. In the final match, focus on two things—the goal of the match and surprising your opponents."
"What do you mean?" Yuna had asked back then.
"If the match asks for something specific, like placing a flag on a platform, focus on that. Winning doesn't always mean defeating everyone."
Merrick had added: "And remember, your opponents don't know you can use four elements by blood, They think you only have two. Use that as your advantage."
"Good ideas," Luna had replied gratefully.
Yuna's lips curled into a tired smile as the memory faded. She had followed their advice. Still, she had drained most of her strength defeating David.
Meanwhile, Luna had already beaten Hinami and was searching for more rabbits. But when she returned to their cage, she found it empty. The rabbit they had caught was gone.
"Damn it!" Luna cursed.
Yuna joined her quickly and they both stared at the empty cage.
"Someone must have taken it," Yuna said. "They couldn't have gone far. We need to split up. Use the code if anything happens."
The twins had invented a private code, like Morse by tapping their left arm with a special needle to send a signal to the other.
They separated, each searching desperately. The match depended on finding those rabbits.
Yuna remembered something as she wandered through the city. Since there were three competing teams, their starting points had to be equally distant from one another—forming an equilateral triangle. She also recalled that Kuro and David had come from the right side, while Shiro and Hinami had come from the left. Those were the directions where their starting points were located.
Whether it was Kuro or Shiro who had taken the rabbit, they would surely head back to their starting point. That thought pushed Yuna to head to the right side—the National Division's territory. She searched the area until she found the starting point, just as she had expected. But then she hesitated: should she stay there and wait or should she move on and do something else ?
Suddenly, she felt the presence of someone approaching. Turning around, she saw Kuro carrying a cage with three rabbits inside. He had gathered them all and all that remained was for him to place them at the starting point, as required.
Kuro looked at Yuna and said,
"I don't want to fight you, Yuna, so just let me finish this."
Yuna : " I thought you were supposed to keep moving forward "
Kuro smiled faintly
"I remember saying that to you before, back when I was your prisoner and you wanted me to leave the National Division."
"That's right."
"And since you seem to want a fight, I'll grant your wish."
He drew out a set of chained cuffs infused with lightning energy and lashed out at Yuna. She dodged his attacks carefully, avoiding direct contact. If the cuffs wrapped around her weapons, she'd be restrained and unable to use them. So instead, she fought using only lightning and ice. She fired icy arrows at him but they weren't as strong as before. Kuro shattered them easily and pressed forward.
She raised her iron-clad shield to block but he knocked her back and hurled a lightning strike that shattered it. Yuna quickly pulled out her bow to fire again but Kuro surprised her with his speed. He dodged her arrows and closed in fast. Forced to retreat, she dropped her bow by accident. Kuro seized the chance and bound it with his cuffs, making both her bow and arrows useless.
Now Yuna had only her iron shield left—but Kuro soon managed to restrain that as well, leaving her literally unarmed.
The two stood facing each other. Kuro remarked,
"I think the result is clear. As I said, let me just finish my task without any trouble."
But Yuna smiled.
"Fine. Try it."
Kuro frowned at her unexpected reply—then felt another presence. Luna appeared suddenly, holding the cage with the three rabbits in plain view. She gave a mocking gesture then vanished instantly with teleportation.
Kuro dashed after her, leaping in long strides but Luna was faster. He hurled bolts of lightning at her, which she dodged with ease. Then icy projectiles struck from behind. He turned to see Yuna firing ice spheres at him. Annoyed, he smashed them with his weapon. But Yuna kept chasing him, hurling more.
"Stay away! I don't want to hurt you!" he shouted.
"You want to hurt my twin and that's enough for me," Yuna shot back.
She fired lightning but Kuro blocked it with a barrier. He knew his priority was Luna but Yuna kept interfering. Even though he had sealed both her bow and shield, she still fought using elements. He realized he had to defeat her to chase Luna properly.
Kuro turned and attacked. Yuna struck with lightning but he blocked it and advanced. She raised an ice barrier, which he shattered, then struck her with his lightning-charged weapon. Seeing her hurt made his heart ache—memories of childhood with her came rushing back but he had no choice ; she wouldn't leave him alone unless he defeated her.
She fell to the ground and he rushed to bind her—only for her to suddenly vanish with teleportation. Her energy signature faded. Kuro was startled, just as David had been earlier. But there was no time to think—he had to catch Luna.
He already knew where she was heading: the starting point, the same deduction Yuna had made earlier. He sped there and found Luna calmly sitting near the marker, holding her weapons.
"So," Kuro said as he walked toward her, "are you waiting for me to fight you, or what?"
"I just want to score the points, that's all," Luna answered.
"I'll make you regret your arrogance."
Luna stood and threw her star weapon, wreathed in volcanic fire. Kuro blocked with his cuffs and pushed forward. She struck him with her iron-and-lightning staff, forcing him back then surprised him with her star coming at him from behind. He barely leapt away in time.
"How are you using lightning? You're only supposed to have air and fire!" Kuro demanded.
"Why should I tell you?" she replied coolly.
"You're really irritating."
"That's what David said to Yuna, right before she beat him."
"So that's why she was worn out and couldn't fight me properly."
"True. But as you can see, I'm not tired."
"Neither am I."
Both had fought earlier—Kuro against Shiro, Luna against Hinami—but neither had exhausted their full strength. They clashed again, their powers evenly matched. But then Kuro noticed strange dot-shaped wounds on Luna's arm—the same kind he had seen on Yuna. Something about them clicked in his mind.
He remembered Morse code. Even while fighting, he tried to read the markings on Luna's arm. He managed to piece together part of it: "While … distract … stupid … cursed …"
It formed a sentence: "While I distract him, put the stupid cage in the cursed starting point."
Kuro realized everything too late. He shoved Luna back and leapt toward the marker, only to find Yuna already there, placing the cage inside. With that, the Moon Division won the match.
Frustrated and defeated, Kuro sank to the ground in anger. Luna walked up behind him with a mocking smile.
" Well, at least you tried "
Kuro shot her an annoyed glance, then stood.
" Congratulations to you all "
" Of course. We're amazing "
But before they could say more, Yuna collapsed. Luna rushed to her side and Kuro followed—despite everything, he still cared for her like a sister. Luna used Yuna's blood to heal her and Yuna slowly opened her eyes.
"Thank you," she whispered.
"You overdid it again, you idiot," Luna scolded gently.
"Yeah…" Yuna murmured.
Kuro stood beside Luna, looking down at Yuna. When she noticed, she said softly,
"So, you came to check on me. I guess you still care about me "
"Yeah… a little," Kuro admitted.
Suddenly, Klaus appeared and announced,
"The match is over. Victory goes to the Moon Division. Now you will all be returned to the facility for treatment, after which the points will be counted."
