Morning sunlight spread across the Red Moon territory, reflecting off the sleek glass windows of the pack mansion and the modern houses scattered across the grounds. Cars moved along the wide paved roads while warriors rotated shifts at the gates.
Despite the peaceful appearance, tension still lingered after the recent attacks.
Inside the mansion, Hazel walked through the courtyard carrying a small tray of tea. She had barely slept the night before. Her powers had been restless again, the strange pull of the Eclipse energy humming faintly under her skin.
She was heading toward the sitting room when a familiar voice called gently.
"Hazel, dear."
Hazel turned and immediately smiled.
Gloria stood near the garden entrance, dressed in an elegant dark coat. The older woman's expression was warm, almost motherly.
"Good morning," Gloria said softly.
Hazel walked over. "Good morning. I didn't know you were visiting today."
Gloria chuckled lightly. "I thought you might need some company after everything that has happened."
Hazel handed her a cup of tea. "You're always so thoughtful."
Gloria placed a gentle hand on Hazel's arm.
"You've been through a lot, child. But you are stronger than you realize."
Hazel appreciated those words more than Gloria knew.
Most people saw her as the Eclipse Heir, the prophecy, the future Luna.
But Gloria spoke to her like she was simply Hazel.
And Hazel liked that.
Across the courtyard balcony above them, Ryan stood watching.
Nick stepped beside him.
"She trusts Gloria a lot," Nick said.
Ryan nodded slowly. "Gloria has always been good to her."
Below them, Hazel and Gloria laughed quietly about something Bella had said the day before.
The moment looked peaceful.
But Ryan's instincts were still restless.
Ever since the Devourer's presence had been detected again, something about the air felt wrong.
Later that afternoon, the training grounds were filled with activity.
Warriors sparred in pairs while Liam supervised the combat drills. Klara and Bella stood with Hazel near the edge of the field.
Sera tossed Hazel a training blade.
"Again," Sera said.
Hazel sighed but caught the blade. "You're enjoying this too much."
Bella laughed. "You need the practice."
Hazel rolled her shoulders and stepped forward.
This time her movements were faster. Her balance was steadier.
Nick watched carefully from the sidelines.
"She's improving," he said to Liam.
"Not just improving," Liam replied. "Adapting."
Hazel lunged forward during the sparring drill and knocked Sera slightly off balance.
Sera raised an eyebrow.
"Okay… that was better."
Hazel grinned proudly.
Near the edge of the field, Gloria watched quietly.
When Hazel finished the training round, she walked over, slightly out of breath.
Gloria handed her a bottle of water.
"You're doing wonderfully," she said kindly.
Hazel wiped sweat from her forehead. "I'm trying."
Gloria smiled warmly.
"You don't need to try so hard. Strength already lives inside you."
Hazel laughed softly. "You sound like Ryan."
Gloria chuckled.
"Well, perhaps the Alpha knows what he's talking about."
As evening approached, Ryan called a meeting inside the strategy room.
Liam, Nick, Bella, Klara, and Sera gathered around the large table.
Ryan stood at the head of the room, serious.
"The Devourer is moving closer," he said.
Nick frowned. "Already?"
Ryan nodded.
"Our scouts spotted signs near the northern border."
Silence filled the room.
Bella looked at Hazel.
"That means he's coming here."
Ryan's voice remained calm but firm.
"He wants the Eclipse Heir."
Hazel crossed her arms, trying to stay brave.
"Then we deal with him."
Ryan's gaze softened slightly when he looked at her.
"We will."
That night the pack warriors doubled their patrols.
Vehicles moved across the territory roads while guards stood alert at the gates.
Inside the mansion, Hazel stepped out onto the balcony again.
The moon was bright tonight.
She felt something in the air.
Something dark.
Behind her, Ryan appeared quietly.
"Can't sleep?" he asked.
Hazel shook her head.
"Something feels… wrong."
Ryan rested his hands on the railing beside her.
"It's coming."
She looked at him.
"The Devourer?"
Ryan nodded once.
"Yes."
Hazel inhaled slowly.
Then she straightened her shoulders.
"Then let him come."
Ryan studied her for a moment.
There was no fear in her eyes now.
Only determination.
Far beyond the Red Moon borders…
Deep within the forest…
A massive dark figure stood among the shadows.
The Devourer had arrived.
And this time—
He was not coming alone.
