As I was picking up my phone from the table, Arvi asked me, "Hey monkey, what's up with that ringtone? That's not your usual one, is it?"
"Yeah, Cutie, I set this one myself. And it's specifically for just one special person," I replied to Arvi, gritting my teeth.
"Who is that person?" she nudged.
"Who else? That Mr. Psycho Jai! I figured as much when you told me about him; it feels like you're up to your neck in anger toward him. But what can we do? You went and got yourself into a mess by crossing paths with him. Anyway, why should I get between you two? Talk to him why he called ?
"Sigh, I really don't understand this 'Cutie' sometimes. Whoever marries her—if he understands her, he's lucky; otherwise, he's definitely going to end up becoming a monk," I thought to myself about aarvi.
Just then, that Psycho called again. I picked up and acted overly humble. "Hello Sir, Good Morning, Sir!" I said, feigning extreme respect.
"What's this? Do I look like a fool to you this early in the morning? Why are you acting so 'extra' humble?" he asked in that deep, commanding voice.
He figured it out! This guy's brain... even Chitti the Robot's brain wouldn't stand a chance against his, I muttered to myself.
"Hey, brainless girl ! Can you hear me or not? Why aren't you speaking? You better be at my house by 10:30 sharp. I don't think I need to remind you that there will be a punishment if you're even a minute late," he said firmly and hung up the call.
Waste fellow! I stood there cursing him under my breath and looked toward Arvi. She walked back into the kitchen, handed me another cup of coffee, and said, "Go get ready quickly and look pretty, you monkey! If his family finds out the truth—that you're just a temporary girlfriend—your job will be at risk again, okay?"
She gave me a playful smile and added, "I'm heading to college now, bye! Breakfast is on the dining table, make sure you eat before you leave," and with that, Arvi walked out.
