Chapter 19 - CHAPTER -19

"What do you mean 'angel ? you are really my wife?" Arjun said, laughing as he teased Vini.

"Hey! Do you even have a brain?" Vini shot back, filled with frustration and confusion. "How do I look to your eyes? You're just imagining things and saying whatever you want. When did you ever tie the mangalsutra around my neck for me to be your wife?"

Arjun replied quickly and with great curiosity, "Why are you saying that, angel ? The moment you accept my love, I will tie the indian marriage thread around your neck. Why wait? If you say the word, I'll be there in five minutes with it!"

"Hello! Hold on right there," Vini said angrily. "Do you think I'll just sit there like a bride while you tie it? Come near me and I'll break your bones!"

Arjun burst into uncontrollable laughter. "Ha ha! My stomach hurts from laughing!"

"Are you crazy? I say I'll hit you and you laugh? Did I tell a joke?" Vini asked crossly.

"If it's not a joke, then what is it, angel ? Does that talk even suit your personality? You look like a skeleton! How can I believe you'll break my bones? Anyway, if you stay this skinny, how will it work, Bangaram (dear)? After our marriage, you have to fight with me, bear my anger, and handle everything. How can you do that like this?"

"Hey, don't irritate me! Just hang up the phone respectfully," Vini snapped.

" Angel what about my lullaby?" Arjun asked playfully.

"If you want a lullaby, go fall in love with a ghost! It'll sing you lullabies in whatever language you want and put you to sleep. Just leave me alone! A hundred salutations to you!" Vini shouted and disconnected the call before Arjun could say another word

Vini was irritatingly replaying the scene in her head. Meanwhile, Arjun thought to himself with a smirk, "Missing you, angel I'm going to give you a shock on Monday. Wait and see."

Vini shared her woes with me, and I laughed so hard that tears came to my eyes.

"Hey! Are you laughing at my pain?" Vini yelled at me.

"Sorry, dear! It just came out suddenly, what can I do?" I asked.

"Mother goddess, you don't have to do anything. Just hang up!" she said and cut the call before I could finish.

"You crazy girl , you never listen to the whole thing," I muttered playfully to myself.

Still, it's true—he's really playing 'football' with Vini's emotions. When I saw his anger, he reminded me of that 'psycho' guy—like they were twins. While that psycho's anger and pride were his whole personality, Arjun seemed soft in other ways, but their 'anger angles' were identical. Especially the way their eyes turned red when they got mad.

As I was thinking this, I started yawning and fell asleep on the bed.

Next morning, Sunday at 9:00 AM.

"Bangaram, wake up! How long will you sleep? You said you wanted to meet your fake life partner family, right? Get up!" my Arvi cutie said, trying to wake me up sweetly.

"Abba, let me sleep for a while, Cutie. Don't disturb me," I mumbled.

"You'll never change. Only God can wake you up," Arvi said, looking upward with her hands folded in prayer.

"Cutie, forget God—even if He comes down, I won't get up! Who do you think I am? This is Hasini! Waking me up is not anyone's cup of tea," I said proudly.

"We'll see about that. I want to see if your Prince Charming wakes you up with a loving cup of coffee or with a few hits!" Arvi said, folding her arms.

"Cutie, I already told you. I don't care if he has money or property. I just need someone who can handle me and my madness. Now go and bring me a strong coffee. You know my day starts with your coffee," I said with my eyes still closed.

"Is that so? We'll see, you monkey! Fine, I'll bring the coffee," Arvi said and went into the kitchen.

Just as she was bringing the coffee to my hand...

"Asura Asura... Asura Asura Ravanasura!"

My ringtone started blaring loudly. Arvi was so startled by the sudden "Ravanasura" song that she jumped, tossing the coffee cup into the air. It crashed to the ground and shattered.
