"What do you mean you found nothing?" Finnegan snarled at Gary from the technical department, his eyes flashing in anger.
The clock on his desk read 8:30 am. He was at least thirty minutes early today. The man who had blissfully kissed me last night, before seeing me off home, looked like his veins would pop like a balloon any minute soon with how tense his entire body was.
"We've run the diagnostic test twice, Boss, both times it comes back clean," Gary explained, scratching his head awkwardly. "The system is reading as fully functional."
"The system," Finnegan hissed from behind his desk, "is telling me that the Waybreaker vehicle project does not exist. A project my engineering team spent eight months building."
"So, either your diagnosis is wrong, or my computer has developed amnesia. And we both know it can't fucking be the latter because that just proves the first one is right."
Gary glanced down at his pair of Jordans as if they would save him.
