"Security!"
My heels clicked rapidly as I raced to the entrance where the guards stood. "There's an intruder in the building! He got in on elevator three, he just went up!"
Everything happened fast after that. The security team rallied immediately, shutting down the elevator. Loud alarms blared through the ground floor, catching everyone's attention.
My heart was beating so hard I could feel it in my throat. There was something about that man, something about him that reminded me of that night fifteen years ago. I had that same sensation, that crippling, tearing sensation.
"Abby!" Kate rushed beside me, grabbing my arm, "I saw him push you. Are you okay? Come sit down, okay?"
"I'm fine," I pressed the back of my hand against my sternum and breathed through my nose. I was just taken aback, that was all. The asshole had shoved me pretty hard. The guards force the elevator back down, overriding it.
