He's not that good.
Crea thought to herself as she scrutinized the current state of the game before her.
Arianis Legacy was a 5 versus 5 multiple online battle arena or MOBA for short.
It's objective simple...
Destroy the enemy base.
The map was made up of three lanes and uncontrolled territory in between each lane known as the jungle.
Each player has a role in each lane... They included the War Laner who went to the War core lane...
The Hunter who killed monsters in the jungle and went from Lane to Lane to assist in getting kills.
The Siege Holder who manned the middle core lane.
The Hyper Core who stayed in the bottom core lane.
And the Scout who roamed around all lanes, providing support.
Currently, Dylan was playing the Hyper Core using a character that looked like a panther like human. Her name was Bageer, and she wore tactical armour whilst holding a large gauss sniper rifle.
Crea watched as he and his team tried, and failed to kill a giant monster champ that looked like a giant lizard with a spiky carapace.
The enemies war Laner Gra'Ush...
Gra-Ush was a beefy tank that relied on maximum HP to do large amounts of damage in an aoe.
And from the looks of it, Dylan's team wasn't built to kill Gra'Ush.
The enemy was made up of
Gra'Ush as warlaner
Ryver as Hunter
Sylphis as Siege Holder
Mac'intyre as Hyper Core
Reddic as Scout...
A well balanced out comp with Mac'intyre holding what seemed to be a blaster that did heavy damage to Dylan's team.
Dylan on the other hand has a good comp too, it was just that...
'This kid is trolling, who picks the gauss rifle for Bageer when the enemy has Gra'Ush and Reddic... You're asking to lose'
They were made up of;
Thalmor as Warlaner
Vincent Van Hellsing as Hunter
Antoine the Cold as Siege Holder
Bageer as Hyper Core
And... Misha Melone as Scout?
'Wasn't Misha a Siege Holder.... She has no heals or Crowd control (cc) or is even tanky... She's just a burst mage waiting to one-shot her opponents? how the hell did she get through the draft in a supporting role?' Crea thought as she scratched her chin, curious to what happened in picks and bans ...
Crea shook her head and sighed.
Bageer was dressed like a futuristic soldier, currently perched on a building whilst she sniped at the enemy Mac'intyre. But the Reddic and Gra'Ush were in her way of hitting her shots.
"Shhhhh... Damn it... Get out of the way"
Just then, a presence got close to where she was hidden, slowing approaching her.
She noticed this thanks to a scouting ward she had placed not too far away.
"He's here so fast, how did he..."
Suddenly, a water whip rushed at Bageer, who tapped a button on her power armour , turning her invisible for a moment. Then she jumped of the roof to escape the enemy attack... Or so she thought...
Just below the place she had jumped off, a small red spring board device just lay there, waiting for her to land ...
"Reddic trap, no way!" She exclaimed, before being lifted back up into the air
BOUNCY TRAP: CC- Knocked Up (1.5secs)
Bageer was thrown up into the air for a brief moment, but her plan to escape had been ruined.
In fact, the enemy Ryver followed up the CC with his ultimate attack.
AQUA PRISON: CC- Suppression (2 secs)
From the enemies side, a loud roar shook the earth. Gra'Ush charged forward, then leaped into the air with his giant frame and used its mangy claws to grab Bageer through the water ball, smashing her into he ground three times
DECIMATION: CC- Suppression (3 secs)
Finally, a beam of green light flew across the air, smashing into Bageer's body, turning her into a beam of light...
You Have been Slain
Shutdown
All these happened in the space of 2.3 seconds... Most of the time, the Bageer was locked in a crowd control chain that she couldn't break out from...
And her team...
Was currently trying to capture the Left sides pylon...
'They....they... They left me to die for a Pylon?' Dylan thought as he looked at the grey death screen.
The map of Arianis was broad and large, but not continuous.
Every map was usually unique as it was made up of two battle fields mashed together, each with their benefits and downsides.
Whenever a match started, each team was randomly given a battlefield, both battlefield were then merged to form the whole map, creating a contrast between the two sides. The enemy minions would differ form each other as if a team got the Abyss field, they would get Abyss walkers and walkers, whilst if the enemy got the Capital city of Belmont, they'd get the Silver Legionnaires.
Currently his side of the map was a place known as Peridot City, a city with high rise buildings that did well for perched, whilst the opponent had the Lost lands, a battlefield filled with mists and unspeakable horror, making it harder for one to find the enemies easily.
The downside of Peridot was that it's buildings could be collapsed, causing damage to the terrain, and for the lost lands it was the fact that some mist had poison zones that affected both teams.
Dylan's team had left the objective of defending the final Fortress that could leave the base open for siege for the Pylon capture.
A bad trade in his opinion.
Now, their fortresses had been taken and the enemy was sieging their final citadel...
And his team was just now recalling.
The citadel's battle towers fired large bolts of blue energy at the enemy Spirit vessels (the lost lands minions), their minions, the Manticores fight bravely, but we're soon wiped out instantly by the enemy.
The Gra'Ush pushed the towers, smashing one easily, whilst the Mac'intyre, a young man with grey hair and dark skin, wielding a white and neon green blaster, and the Sylphis, a fairy like creature with a ball of wind around her made short work of the other.
Soon the enemy base was open for destruction.
Dylan's team had just recalled to make the final stand, but as they left the fountain of life behind the citadel, Reddic, a halfling who looked half crazed, wearing overalls and holding a large monkey wrench suddenly vanished and appeared right in front of them. In his hands was a metallic box with two protruding rods on top of it.
Then with a guttural and crazy cry he yelled.
ITS PARTY TIME!!!
And then, he slammed the box on the floor, sending large area of effect bolt of electricity that stunned the other four players, shredding their armour.
Sylphis followed up with her ultimate
APPROACHING STORM
Another AOE that created a large tornado, knocking up everyone and doing a large burst of damage.
Then Mac'intyre placed his blaster muzzle down and grabbed a handle, pushing it down and twisting its side ways, this was the animation for his ultimate attack.
TARGET ACQUIRED: SPATIAL BLAST
Immediately after, a beam of green light fell from the sky, destroying the whole enemy team in an instant...
ENEMY MAC'INTYRE QUADRAKILL
WAR HERO
ANNIHILATION!!!
DEFEAT!!!
Dylan groaned and collapsed, tired and broken. He'd done everything he could, he got first blood, was in a Killing spree with 5 kills, even helped the team secure first Tower...
Yet it all went down once the Gra'Ush join team fights.
It was like the game turned on its head against him.
"Why is this game so?..this is just a scout diff at this point" he groaned as he put his hand on his keyboard, intending to flame his support for playing badly in the kill score screen.
"Ah-Hem!" A cough startled him, stopping his hands as he felt a large presence behind him. He slowly turned his neck, giving a goofy smile as if he was caught red handed stealing. He looked at Crea, almost blurting out his thoughts.
'She's HUGE!'
"C-c-c-can I help .... You?" He asked, looking at the clock just over head.. it was about 8:54pm, 54 mins beyond his actual time.
"That would be 2 quid for one extra hour, plus we close by 9pm"
"Ah, I'm sorry. I just was so engrossed in the game. You know how it feels right, to be so close to victory, only to be bogged down by bad teammates" he replied passionately, seemingly trying to leave an impression on the receptionist.
Crea looked amused, her lips lifting a mocking smile as she said.
"Yeah, if I actually played well.. but you, that might have been the worst play you could ever make against a Gra'Ush" she spoke quietly before returning to her desk.
Dylan was stunned, he didn't know that the receptionist actually had game knowledge on Arianis.
But then he felt annoyed.
'Did she just say I was bad? How dare she?' he seethed. He looked directly at her and growled.
"Heh, look who's talking, only know how to play E-girl champs and can't carry..."
Crea stripped in her tracks, looked at Dylan with a gaze that could go against the Geneva convention and replied in the most cold voice.
"DonkyDylan... 11pm sharp, I'll send and invite for a 1v1... Then I'll play Bageer. Pick who you want... I'd still win"
Dylan stood there frozen, then he yelled back.
"Fine, we'll see at 11... Hope you don't chicken out on me you she-man... If I win I'm going to talk shit about your useless café"
He rushed out, leaving the glass door open.
Crea sighed. She didn't even bother to remind him about his extra time payments.
Just then, the manager walked out from his office. He looked at Crea and sighed.
"Misogynistic dunce innit? Just don't feel too bad, the last guy here was a victim of worse... Didn't even last 3 days"
Crea nodded and began to close shop.
As she walked out into the street, she looked up at the street light just before her, looking forward to her match at 11pm.
'Time to discipline some noobs'
