Leon's Pov
Noah left earlier in the day. He didn't stay long after everything we talked about. He said he'd check in later and left the house.
After he left, I stayed downstairs for a while. I wasn't doing anything. Just sitting there, then standing up, then sitting again. I didn't feel like going upstairs immediately.
After some time, I stood up and started walking.
I was halfway up the stairs when I stopped.
Caroline's voice came from the balcony area.
At first I didn't pay full attention. She could've been on any normal call. But then I heard something that made me slow down.
"I told you already, just leave it the way it is."
I stopped walking.
There was a pause after that. I couldn't hear the other person, only her side.
"No, don't touch anything else. I'll handle it when I get there."
Then she said something lower.
"Emily—"
I moved my foot slightly and it made a sound on the floor.
Her voice stopped immediately.
I stepped onto the balcony.
