Chapter 2 - chapter one godhood

Some years had passed.

Erythion had spent them simply living his life, mostly trying to stay away from the gods. He walked and walked and walked all the way to the other side of the world. He was trying to figure out the world. He could understand different godheads and the shapes of power around them. He knew about that from Greek mythology and from the theories he had once studied in another life, and he could see these things. The other humans were just boring, serving the Titans. It was not something he would do, and the worship of Prometheus was just too much.

He could see stuff—probably stuff he should not have been able to see. From what he could tell it was energy, energy from everything. He could not use any of it. That irritated him. He lived in a cave, just trying to do stuff, creating stuff. He made chalk and covered the walls of the cave with it. It was just something he was trying to make do something. Erythion felt like something was scratching at his soul. He knew the ways the world was going to go. It was very obvious. He had seen Cronus, Rhea, and the other Titans slowly following the pattern of the world through fate.

Maybe this energy is magic. It can't be right. Magic… look at myself. The magic around everything. The energy is in the food, it's in the ground, it's in him, it's in the air, it's in the earth.

Now he felt something scratching really hard. Not that it hurts—what's going on? I'm understanding something.

The world began to shake. In the lands of Chaos the unseen force known as magic, known as the domain of Hecate, was beginning to expand.

Gods concealed this. Other beings that had a loose connection to it could feel it expanding. Some people didn't care. The god-king Titan Cronus—to him the expansion of magic didn't really bother him. He was a god. The unseen forces felt small compared to him. He didn't really understand.

Chaos, with excitement, was urging the human to say it, to understand it, to understand what was expanding underneath the unseen forces of magic and sorcery, separating them.

Erythion was in pain. He picked up the chalk that he had created, that he had made, and began to write down formulas of different types of magic, of different types of the elements, the science behind it, the mysterious things, the laws of the world. Chaos looked at this specific being, this insignificant being that was not in its grand tapestry of fate, that Chaos had filled before. He wasn't here before.

Prometheus saw something. He saw a prophecy of a human becoming a god—a lower god, but still. He could tell the future of this being. He could dive deeper into it. It was like a mist was over his fate.

Hecate's interest was piqued as the unseen force, the magic domain, was beginning to expand even more. She decided to go find where all the focus of the laws of Chaos were going. She didn't care if there was another Titan or god or anybody trying to gain the godhood of magic. She was just curious. As it was beginning to expand, her understanding of magic and her style of magic was becoming more prevalent. She had a smile. A new birth of a god, even though it came from an unconventional way, brought great interest. Was this a singularity? This unique soul? She made her way to the being Erythion.

He was finally beginning. His body was beginning to break and break. More and more cracks on his skin were beginning to happen. He began to delve deeper into his mind, delve deeper into his well of knowledge of the worlds, of his world—fantasy of dragons, of creatures from the sea. Even though this world had knowledge of some of the creatures, things like dragons were not something they had knowledge of. Things in the world were beginning to fill apart. These creatures were not being created just yet, but now there was a domain for them, for someone who could create them.

Then the big breaking point was beginning to happen. His body was slowly fading away, glowing and turning into something else as he felt his own soul energy, the massive amount of it, being drained. Half of his body was slowly aging faster. He could feel it. If he continued this his body would burn. But everything that was scratching into his soul felt like it was right. This was something that he needed to do. He was making a magic formula. At first the words were crude, but then it started to slowly get better. The language of magic. That's what it was—the language of magic, to understand. His soul began to get bigger. It was up now, like something was trying to break out. Symbols of the elements were slowly heading, going into the middle of the cave. He finally made a drawing of an amulet, some type of crystal. Then he said the name of it.

"The Source Crystal."

When he said that—boom. A large explosion of energy, of divine force. His body was beginning to just rapidly age to the point his body was just earth again. Then it started to crystallize. The dust from it showed a crystal, the same as the one that he drew, began to form—an egg-shaped vessel filled with swirling light, wrapped in organic tendrils, hanging from a chain. His soul, though, was beginning to come bigger, better, as it started to finally understand what was coming to him. The agony of dying from old age to learning what it really means to have a godhood. When his body first walked out he would make it. He was a lower-tier god with great potential. Now he walked out of the cave with the crystal around his neck, his divine artifact, the Source—the understanding of magic. It was not like it was the source of magic, but it was the language and the understanding of magic. That's why he called it the Source. The Crystal of Source is a great tool, a powerful tool to help understand the unseen force, the domain of magic. He looked up into the sky where he could see the cluster of understanding, the cluster of power. The laws of Chaos were focusing on him, to say what he needed to say, to say what he needed to become, to the world of Chaos in the tapestry.

"I am the god of sorcery, of understanding the language of magic, born with magic. This is what it covers. This is the Domain of Sorcery."

He said this as the world was beginning to understand, slowly understand. The laws were beginning to enlarge and to make room for two gods of magic, making it stronger as the world. This actually did pick the interest of the god-king. His one eye opened where he was sitting on his throne, understanding this was relating to the other matter. But he realized there was something wrong happening here. There was a human being who stepped into the world of the gods, died, and was reborn as a god. This caused some anger, as no human should step into the world of the gods. He demanded for Prometheus to come here.

Prometheus came, curious on why he was called. He didn't know what was happening in the world of Chaos, but he didn't think it involved something that came from him.

Cronus said, "Why is there a human evolving into a god? Did you give them this? Was it you? Are you trying to create a puppet? More people?"

He said this as around the mountain, in his palace, the pressure of the god-king could be felt pushing onto Prometheus. Cronus showed an image of what was happening.

Prometheus was shocked. "No, my lord. I have not done anything. This is an abnormality. I do not know how he came to be. I could never even see through his fate. It's like a mist."

This brought the god-king to calm. The energy, the pressure, was gone. Now he was trying to think if this was something done by Chaos.

Back to Erythion.

Not realizing he was being watched by four beings that were on a higher tier than him, he began to say the words that would shake the fate of the world of humans, of any being that is trying to delve into magic.

"I govern true names, seals, geometric formulae, and written grimoires. Celestial and astral alignment, astrology, and calculated ritual timing. Binding, summoning, and commanding spirits or daimones through will, intellect, and precise ritual instead of communion, offerings, or night-walking. High or theurgic-style sorcery: elemental mastery through knowledge. The unknowns. Everything. This is what sorcery is to create, to understand. That is the domain. To understand the domain of magic and constantly create systems through magic. To use, to bind, to create. It was somewhat special in a magic system. Personally, that is the main of it. Not a worker of witchery. Of sorcery, different from Hecate, goddess of witchery. I am the god of weaving. The god of sorcery. The god of understanding the Weave."

When he said that the Weave when he called it the Weave, magic the Weave, Hecate began to have an understanding as her style of magic was beginning to go toward her wild magic, which was stronger than what Erythion was getting, but more dangerous. The Weave was coming greater. More domains were appearing, but no one yet to claim them. Since he brought a fundamental force into the world and gave the name to the unseen force of magic, he began to have a greater divine rank, going to the second stage of a low-tier, going straight toward the middle rank.

His body was glowing. His understanding of magic grew. His mind as well was growing, and it was amazing. He felt amazing. He felt like he could do anything. Though he started to realize what was happening. He could see people watching him one person, then two, then three. Cronus cut the feed to see a low-tier god that was just born going all the way up to middle-tier just because he brought in a fundamental force and gave it a name. It was hard for him to walk. He was trying to understand where he was. He did feel the ill intent coming from Cronus even though he couldn't see him. Then she then he saw her. Beautiful. Her three faces, just beautiful. Or was it three? He couldn't really tell. He could see three people, or three faces.

"Beautiful," Erythion said, looking at the goddess Hecate. It wasn't just that he was saying this like she was a god. She was a goddess. Her beautiful figure, her unique facial features it was just beautiful to him in the way that the magic of the world was just surrounding her, the darkness of it, how they were independently of the more clueless side but at the same time more peaceful, orderly, wild.

"Hello, little god. This is very, very interesting. Very interesting to have you be born. It has brought great power to me and to yourself and to the world. It clings to us. Follow me. I think we have a lot to talk about."

She did this not even with a hand gesture. A mist a portal to her domain, where she had other powerful either lower-tier gods or nymphs walked into the forest domain. He began to walk in, feeling the magic around it. It wasn't to his liking how it was her complete opposite, but he liked it in a way.

This is the end to the beginning.
