Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 : Seeds of a new era

Time passed quietly after the fall of the Heavenly Sect.

The world believed Heaven had ended.

But destiny… never truly dies.

One evening, as crimson clouds drifted across the Demon Realm's sky, Li Feng stood beside Mo Zhu atop the Black Citadel. The wind howled faintly, carrying with it something unusual.

A streak of faint golden light flickered far beyond the horizon.

Mo Zhu narrowed his eyes.

"You felt that too."

Li Feng's gaze sharpened behind his mask.

"…Yes."

The golden radiance was weak—but pure. It pierced through the demonic sky like a needle of light.

"Heavenly Sect…" Mo Zhu murmured. "It seems they still have a fragment of hope left."

Li Feng folded his hands behind his back.

"A new seed has been born," he said calmly. "A shift in destiny."

Mo Zhu chuckled faintly. "Do you wish to eliminate it now?"

Li Feng was silent for a moment.

Then—

"Let's see what becomes of it. For now, it is no threat to us."

But deep inside, both of them understood.

The balance had moved.

What Li Feng and Mo Zhu did not know was how carefully that seed had been hidden.

Before the Heavenly Sect's destruction, a pregnant woman—one of the sect's inner disciples—had escaped in secret. Under the protection of a loyal elder, she fled to a remote mortal village.

She carried within her womb the sect's final treasure—

A child born with a Supreme Bone.

A physique capable of rebuilding Heaven itself.

The night the child was born, thunder roared across the sky. Golden spiritual energy gathered faintly around the newborn.

The elder standing beside the mother trembled.

"It's real… The Supreme Bone truly exists…"

The woman, pale and dying, weakly held her child.

"Protect him…" she whispered. "Let him live… even if Heaven falls again…"

Moments later—

Her hand fell lifeless.

The elder's eyes hardened.

He looked down at the infant.

"From today onward… your name is Xu Tianming."

He waited only a few breaths.

Then—

Without hesitation—

He killed the mother's body.

Not out of cruelty—

But to erase all traces.

No evidence.

No pursuit.

Carrying the newborn tightly in his arms, the elder vanished into the mountains.

From that day forward—

Xu Tianming grew in secrecy.

The elder became his master.

Sixteen years of hidden cultivation.

Sixteen years of preparation.

Meanwhile—

Back in the Demon Realm—

Li Feng stood in silence, sensing the faint fluctuations of destiny again.

He turned slightly toward Mo Zhu.

"Brother."

Mo Zhu glanced at him lazily. "You've thought of something."

Li Feng's voice was calm.

"If Heaven has planted a seed… then Demon must do the same."

Mo Zhu raised a brow.

Li Feng continued,

"Yesterday, a child was born within one of our clans. The mother died during childbirth."

Mo Zhu nodded faintly. "I heard."

Li Feng's eyes gleamed.

"Let us adopt the child."

Mo Zhu paused.

"And?"

"We raise him as our own. We make him the Holy Son of the Demon Clan."

A faint smile curved beneath Li Feng's mask.

"If that Heavenly child grows into a future sect leader… he will need a rival."

Mo Zhu laughed softly.

"Your idea is good, little brother."

He turned toward the distant clan quarters.

"Let's go see this child."

The infant lay quietly, wrapped in dark silk cloth.

Despite being newly born, a chilling aura faintly radiated from him.

Not chaotic.

Not violent.

But deep.

Mo Zhu lifted the child carefully.

The baby did not cry.

Instead—

His tiny fingers gripped Mo Zhu's sleeve firmly.

Mo Zhu's eyes softened for a brief second.

"…Interesting."

Li Feng stepped closer.

"We'll name him Mo Yanluo."

Mo Zhu nodded.

"From today onward, I am his father."

Li Feng chuckled lightly.

"And I'll be the strict uncle."

Mo Zhu smirked. "Raising a child won't be difficult for you, will it?"

Li Feng waved dismissively.

"I'll handle it."

Thus—

The Demon Clan gained its Holy Son.

Sixteen years passed.

In the hidden mountains—

Xu Tianming grew under harsh training. Sword practice at dawn. Meditation at midnight. Endless discipline.

His master watched him carefully.

"The Heavenly Sect may be gone," the elder would say, "but you… will rebuild it."

Xu Tianming's eyes burned with determination.

"I will."

In the Demon Realm—

Mo Yanluo grew beneath the direct guidance of Mo Zhu and Li Feng.

Unlike other demon children, he was trained personally.

Sword, spear, demonic arts, mental cultivation—

Li Feng spared no mercy.

"If you hesitate," Li Feng would say coldly, "you die."

Mo Yanluo never cried.

Never complained.

By sixteen—

His aura alone could silence adult demons.

Mo Zhu watched proudly.

"He surpasses expectations."

Li Feng stood quietly beside him.

Far away—

Xu Tianming completed his sword form atop a mountain peak.

At the same moment—

Mo Yanluo crushed a demonic beast beneath his foot.

Two boys.

Opposite worlds.

Both sixteen.

Both carrying the future of their factions.

Li Feng gazed at the distant sky.

"The real battle…" he murmured softly,

"begins with them."

And destiny—

Quietly—

Smiled.
