Chapter 1 - D-1: The open for new year (pt1)

January 1, 2001

02:21 Am

While everyone was celebrating the arrival of the new year, The first taxi of the year arrived at Eclipse condominium, where the dormitory of the pre-debuting group from Mirae Entertainment was located. "Thank you for choosing Jeonnam Taxis." The taxi driver thanked him, and the man who had been in the taxi got out of the car; he was a tall man, 186 cm, weighing 58kg, straight black hair to the shoulders. The sound of his sneakers filled the stairs up to the 6th floor, he had finally arrived at the door of apartment 33. It was Donghwa

Donghwa (birth name: Kim Beomseok) was born in the Buk district of Ulsan, South Korea, on August 25, 1979, and was going to turn 22 that year. He was the main rapper of K'POP. Donghwa's childhood was anything but easy; He suffered bullying at school since he was a baby, until, at almost 17 years old, he dropped out of school, not only because of that but also because his brother was accepted into medical school at Yonsei University. At home it wasn't much different; his father was an extremely absent shoe store manager, and his mother was a fanatical religious pastor who attacked him for EVERYTHING in the name of God. Donghwa had already made two debuts before joining K'POP; The first one was in 1992, at age 13, under the stage name Jin Jaehwan, in an attempt to escape his family and go to Seoul to pursue his dream of becoming an actor, but his mother eventually found out and, during the fourth performance, assaulted him on national television. The second attempt was in 1997, when he was between 17 and 18 years old, in an independent band called AD, where he performed under the stage name Park Jimin, but the band broke up after only 4 months due to several allegations of indecent exposure. Remember when I said his parents were awful? Well, you know that saying, "conservative parents raise troubled children"? It perfectly describes his life. Donghwa had been smoking since he was 12 years old and drinks since 17, He had frequent fits of rage and would even destroy things, he brought women to the dormitory (and when he did, nobody could sleep) and many other things. But despite that, he was a great hyung, who knows to protect his dongsaengs

"Where did I leave that damn key?" Donghwa grumbled, until he finally picked up the key and put it in the lock. The door finally opened, Donghwa took two steps inside until he was greeted by a startled hug; it was Woohyun's.

Woohyun (birth name: Kim Woohyun) was born in Gangbuk, Seoul, South Korea, on February 2nd, 1983, and was going to turn 18 that year. Woohyun had a normal childhood; loving parents, he studied at great schools and brought joy wherever he went, but he had a problem; he was born with a condition where he possessed both breeders organs, And because the surgery to remove it is VERY EXPENSIVE, his parents decided to leave him as he is. Despite this, it never stopped Woohyun from being and acting like a normal child. Woohyun also dreamed of being famous, his parents supported this dream, and since the age of 3, Woohyun had appeared in theater plays. At age 11, she participated in a children's fantasy and horror film that was a retelling of Hansel and Gretel, where he starred alongside Moon Boryung. But he's also being harassed by someone from the company K'POP is under

"You had another nightmare, didn't you?" Donghwa asked, and Woohyun nodded. Donghwa huffed and grabbed a blanket, a pillow, a cup of tea, and a piece of pie before placing them on the sofa, and took Woohyun to the living room where he wrapped him up. Then he turned on the TV and watched a movie with Woohyun until the sun rise

07:30 am

Donghwa hadn't slept; the bedroom door finally opened. "They woke up," Donghwa grumbled. A person emerged from the room, wearing pajamas that everyone in the dorm recognized; it was Jumin who had woken up.

Jumin (birth name: Kim Jumin) was born in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, on March 1st, 1981, He was about to turn 21; he was the leader, rapper, and dancer of the group. Jumin, at age 2, was diagnosed with Savant syndrome, A rare neurological condition where individuals, often with autism or intellectual disability, exhibit "islands of genius," extraordinary talents in areas such as art, music, calculation, or memory, in contrast to significant difficulties in other areas of functioning, communication, and social interaction, despite this, Jumin never let it affect his leadership spirit. His father was a renowned trot singer who abandoned his career to take care of him. However, despite having a normal childhood, Jumin was constantly pressured and it was common to see him crying in bed at the end of the day because he didn't feel "good enough".

Donghwa didn't pay much attention to his arrival. "I went to try and take a shower now, and Yubin was outside staring at me, looking like a ghost." Jumin grumbled, Donghwa laughed at the same time, "He's always like that."

Yubin (birth name: Lee Inho) was born in Busan, South Korea, On January 5, 1983, he would be turning 18 in a few days. He had severe social phobia; he hardly spoke, and when he did, it was sometimes very softly. His parents were nice people, but he suffered constant bullying from his maternal grandmother. Despite this, he lived a normal childhood... Until April 1994. At age 11, Yubin was diagnosed with a rare and incurable disease that originated in his stomach and would affect his entire body within 11 months, and that, if the stomach removal was not performed, Yubin could die. His parents then had to auction off all their belongings in order to save their son. The surgery was a success, but from then on Yubin could only eat nutritional pills containing the necessary nutrients.

"I'm going to make kimbap" Jumin stated this while already gathering ingredients to make Kimbap. "I think I'll bring Jaeyoon to sleep over tonight," Donghwa stated. That, and that made Jumin lose his desire to cook. "How many times do I have to ask you to stop bringing women here?" Jumin asked.

"You act like they make a lot of noise, Jaeyoon isn't even like that." Donghwa rolled his eyes, Jumin started putting away the food. "You said that when you brought Chanmi, Hyunjoo, Chaewon, Heejin, Siyoon, "And so on," Jumin went straight to the sofa. "Yubin and Woohyun are 17 years old and Yesung is 16," Jumin replied. Donghwa began to laugh sarcastically, "So where the heck should i do this?" Donghwa asked.

"It's not about where you're going," Jumin began, "it's about respect! Yubin stops taking his medication as soon as someone other than us comes here, Woohyun comes crying to the room because he can't sleep, Yesung trembles every time you... You know!" He added. That was enough to make Donghwa thoughtful.

"Okay, I'm not going to do that here today." Donghwa admitted defeat. No celebration from Jumin. "Great," Jumin went back to making kimbap. "By the way, where's Youngwon?" Jumin started asking him while Donghwa was fiddling with the TV. "He wrote on a note on the wall that he was going to spend New Year's Eve with his grandfather in the hospital; his grandfather has been sick for who knows how many years."

Youngwon (birth name: Lee Hyungoo) was born in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, on September 5, 1980, and he was going to turn 21 that year. Youngwon's life was also difficult, but in a different way; His family was extremely poor, the kind of poor where they owed money for the entire house. His mother was an addict who had been fired from her position as a school principal, and his father was a convenience store manager. In March 1990, when she gave birth to Youngwon's younger brother, his mother contracted an illness that left her paraplegic in her arms and legs, forcing Youngwon to abandon his studies to take care of his mom and younger brother and help his father. Youngwon's dream was to become a pediatrician, but one day, during a trip to the United Kingdom with his father, he saw a Pink Floyd performance, which made him want to become a singer. His parents, despite being quite poor, supported him, and his father let him buy a guitar, which Youngwon began playing casually while performing covers for customers at his father's convenience store.

"Also, Jumin, I want to talk to you... about Woohyun," Donghwa whispered, and Jumin just nodded. When they finished having coffee, Donghwa guided Jumin to the room. "So, about Woohyun... I think he has Stockholm syndrome... because of the CEO," Donghwa began. That worried Jumin, but he raised an eyebrow "Why?"

"Have you never noticed?" Donghwa asked "Whenever something... the kind of thing a person in a position of authority shouldn't do to a young person happens, Woohyun says things like 'he was tired and wanted to rest', 'It was my fault, I shouldn't have seduced him', 'I asked for it, he's not to blame for anything'. This is sickening." Donghwa Said

The CEO... The worst creature they could have spoken of. He was a horrible narcissist who always blamed everyone around him and was ready to watch others fall. Furthermore, he was a pervert pedophile, especially towards Woohyun, who was just a child. The CEO always forced Woohyun to have a disgusting relationship with him, otherwise his parents would be killed, and all the blame would fall on Woohyun. Not to mention that he was aggressive and mocking towards the other boys.

"Trust me, Jumin, Woohyun was corrupted by that jack." Donghwa announced while Jumin nodded, until he decided to speak. "Let's talk to him." Jumin agreed. The two left the room and returned to the living room, where Woohyun was already awake. Donghwa and Jumin began to explain.

That's when Woohyun became a different person, the one who defended the CEO.

"Why are you all going to keep talking badly about him?" Woohyun began. "He's not the monster you make him out to be! He's always working, managing a company, he's always tired. Everyone expects things from him, am I the only one who has even a shred of compassion for him?" He continued, which left Donghwa and Jumin speechless. "Woohyun, this isn't compassion, it's control! He's a 31-year-old adult, you're a 17-year-old boy!" Jumin started

"Age is just a number, You only see him at work, not when he's overloaded, when he's stressed or when he's sad." Woohyun argued "he never forced me, i was the one who wanted this, because I'm the only one who knows his pain and knows how to make him happy."

Jumin and Donghwa froze when they heard "make him happy" knowing the CEO's Nature

"Woohyun" Donghwa started "A 17-year-old boy should never have sex with a 31-year-old man to make him happy. That's not love, that's rape," he continued. Woohyun continued to get increasingly irritated, "You probably don't even know what that means!" Woohyun yelled

"Respect me!" Donghwa yelled too "You shouldn't be in a 31-year-old man's house doing things for him. You're defending a man who hurt you and stole your innocence!" Donghwa continued, Woohyun rolled his eyes hysterically, "You're acting like I'm panicking. I didn't scream, I didn't ask you to stop, I wasn't dragged, I consented to it!"

"Consent isn't just saying yes," Jumin continued. "It requires fairness, freedom, its about say "no" without worrying" he kept saying, Until Woohyun tried to end the fight in the most lethal way possible, "You must just be jealous because at least he says I'm special!" Then, Woohyun ran to the door of the room, leaving the Dorm

"We pressured him too much." Jumin tried to run, but Donghwa held him back. "No... It was that predator that made him like this," Donghwa replied.

08:15 am

Meanwhile, Woohyun had hidden himself in a restaurant, where he sat in the back and took out his cell phone, opening his conversations with the CEO. It's worth noting that, unlike the other members, who had the CEO's contact saved as "boss" (and in Donghwa's case, as "Jack"), Woohyun had the CEO's contact saved as "my man", just as the CEO had the CEO's contact saved as "my boy". Woohyun started typing for the CEO.

Woohyun: im sorry, oppa

They where mad at me again :(

My man: What happened?

Woohyun: They keep saying bad things about You (╥﹏╥)

They don't understand us. .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.

My man: They are envious.

They say that because they don't know how I protect you.

You've always understood me better than anyone else.

Thats why i love you

Woohyun: thank youu (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤

I just wanted you to be happy oppa (。ŏ﹏ŏ)

My man: And you know how to do it.

Woohyun put his phone down for a moment, until the CEO sent another message, this time asking him to come to his house.

My man: Is it possible to come today?

I had a horrible night.

Woohyun: What happened?

Why did you have such a terrible night? ⊙﹏⊙

My man: I couldn't sleep.

Too many thoughts

Woohyun: Please say it's not because of me 💔💔💔

Because otherwise I'm going to cry sooooo much .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.

Woohyun waited a little longer, his heart aching. And finally the CEO responded.

My man: It wasn't because of you.

It's because I was thinking about everything.

About how people talk.

About how they look at us.

About how hard it is when no one understands.

Woohyun: I don't understand why they hate that we're together, oppa (⊙_◎)

Is it because they hate me? (╥﹏╥)

My man: Don't worry

You always make me happy simply by existing

That's why I want you now.

Woohyun: thaaaanks ^-^

Can I wear the same outfit I wore last time? (◍•ᴗ•◍)

My man: which one?

Woohyun: you know which one (⊙_◎)

That one cute and sexy kitty pajama who showed my body /ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\

Woohyun waited a little longer, and the CEO finally responded.

My man: yes, i remember

Woohyun: you loved (≧▽≦)

I was so cute :3

My man: Don't delay

Woohyun: okay ^_________^

Try to rest a bit while I'm not there.

Woohyun turned off his phone and went to the restaurant bathroom, where he got his pajamas from his backpack.

After finishing changing, Woohyun walked to the CEO's house. He finally arrived, opened the door, and walked a little further, reaching the CEO's room with a smile on his face. "Im here, Oppa" Woohyun whispered, and the CEO woke up, staring intently at Woohyun's pajamas. "Wow, you are so pretty in this kitty pajama" the CEO spoke. Woohyun started to chuckle softly, "Can I play with you? I know you're so tired."

08:30 am

Meanwhile, Youngwon finally returned to the dorm. "Guys, why did Woohyun run out of the building like he was running a marathon?" Youngwon went to the kitchen to eat the Tteobokki that he had left. "...Nothing, Youngwon! He was just stressed," Donghwa replied gruffly, as if the conversation was so exhausting that even he didn't want to hear about it anymore.

"...okay?" Youngwon sat on the sofa to watch TV. "Did Yesung sleep well?" he asked again. Youngwon was always the worried one who always asked about the maknaes.

"Yes, he went to his mother's house at 8:09 AM," Jumin replied while eating the rest of the kimchi. "And Yubin, did he take his medicine?" Youngwon asked again, watching Jumin eat. Youngwon and Jumin had been friends since they were little because their mothers were friends too. "Yes, he took it."

Youngwon felt a little relieved before drinking some water. "So I guess everything's alright," he thought.

08:35 AM

Meanwhile, from receiving so many bites from the CEO, Woohyun's body was already sore. "Ouch, it hurts so much!" Woohyun yelled, which made the CEO stop. "Is your body sore?" the CEO asked.

"You should have warned me!" the CEO said worriedly, making Woohyun a little apprehensive. "It's just that I didn't want to disappoint you, Oppa," he whined in a sweet voice.

The CEO glanced at him before grabbing a towel. "If you want, we can go to Lebanon tonight, they said they're open today," the CEO stated, making Woohyun kneel down in curiosity. "And what am I going to wear?" Woohyun asked

Lebanon wasn't just a nightclub for rich people; it was a nightclub for rich people where promiscuity ran rampant. Only rich people went there, and often these people were wealthy men in their 30s and older who brought younger, very handsome boys, who could eat and drink for free, even if they didn't were old enough. The CEO had been taking Woohyun there ever since they started their relationship in 1999, and it was there that Woohyun wore more revealing clothes and performed acts more obscene than any boy should do.

"I set aside that corset shirt and those black shorts for you." The CEO replied that the idea of going in that outfit wasn't so alarming anymore for Woohyun, who had already gotten used to dressing that way. "Okay, when it's time to go, I'll dress like this," he said.

11:23 am

Meanwhile, Donghwa, after going to the supermarket (which miraculously was open, even though it was a holiday) to buy beer, went to his room. "Where did I put that cigarette?" Donghwa wondered, for a moment he decided to ignore it and take a shower. He took off his shirt and then looked at his back, covered in scars, scratches, and everything else, but there was one thing he hated there; that MS tattoo he'd been forced to get. That cursed tattoo that always reminded him of him; Mr. Shin

Mr. Shin (Birth name: Shin Dokjae) was born in Mapo, Seoul, South Korea on May 10th, 1949, he will do 52 that year. Donghwa knew him well; he was the leader and oldest member of his former band, AD!, which had a greater age difference than mental sanity. But that wasn't even the worst part; Mr. Shin always forced him to do controversial things for the sake of the band's fame, like using hard drugs, performing in just his underwear (sometimes not even that), Performing under the influence of heroin, going to bars, all th

is when Donghwa was 17, almost 18 years old. There were rumors that Mr. Shin had abused Donghwa, but nothing has been confirmed to this day.

When he finished showering, Donghwa wrapped himself in a towel and called Jaeyoon, the girl he was going to pick up that night. "I'll be there at 6:30 PM," Donghwa stated.
