At night, Hogwarts shed the hustle and bustle of the day, revealing a quiet and magnificent beauty.
Lynn set up a small folding chair outside the tent, sitting quietly and gazing at the brilliantly lit Castle across the lake.
"It's already been over two years since I came to Hogwarts..." he couldn't help but sigh, feeling how quickly time flew from his initial ignorance upon entering the world of magic...
"So, is this the deep-seated reason why you're sitting by the lake lamenting life, Master, yet haven't caught a single fish?" Dodo's voice drifted over eerily from the side.
He had also brought a small stool to sit on, holding a simple but sturdy fishing rod. Just as he finished speaking, the float on the water sank. With a flick of Dodo's wrist, a plump trout was pulled from the water.
Lynn glanced at Dodo's "fruitful" results and then looked at his own empty fish basket.
Without changing his expression, he said with unearned confidence, "What you catch is what I catch, isn't it? My fishing gear, my bait—rounding it up, I caught this fish. Perfect logic."
Dodo put the fish into the bucket with a splash. "Dodo cannot refute Master's logic. After all, you are the Master."
Lynn snorted, deciding not to lower himself to his house-elf's level.
He stood up and stretched. The rich aroma of food wafting from the tent was already making his stomach growl.
"Let's go, time to eat. Clean the fish; we'll grill them tomorrow."
Walking into the spacious tent, the air was filled with a mouth-watering fragrance.
"Lynn! We were just waiting for you! Hurry, the meat has almost all been sneakily eaten by Edgar!" William shouted, his glasses fogged up by the steam.
"Nonsense! I'm just helping you guys test if it's cooked!" Edgar defended himself vaguely, his mouth stuffed with meat.
The group sat together and ate heartily.
Fresh ingredients were quickly cooked in succession and dipped into their respective sauces; every bite was pure satisfaction.
After the feast, they slumped into comfortable camping chairs, rubbing their bellies, none of them wanting to move.
"Are we... going back tonight?" Edgar asked lazily after a loud burp.
Lynn looked at the scenery outside the tent and made a decisive call:
"We're already out here. If we don't spend a night in the wild and experience Hogwarts under the stars, wouldn't all this preparation be for nothing? The tent is big enough and warm. We're staying here!"
This proposal received unanimous agreement.
So, after a quick cleanup, the four lay down side by side in the tent...
In the middle of the night, Lynn frowned in his sleep.
He dreamed he was anxiously searching for a bathroom in the corridors of Hogwarts, running past one corner after another until he finally saw a familiar door!
He rushed over, grabbed the handle, and couldn't wait to 'open the floodgates'...
Wait! I'm dreaming, aren't I?!
This thought instantly jolted him awake from his sleep.
Lynn wanted to prop himself up, but his body felt exceptionally heavy, as if pinned down by something.
He struggled to open his groggy eyes and, by the faint light of a nightlight in the tent, took a closer look—Good grief!
Guess what? Edgar had somehow lying spread across the middle of the three who were originally side by side!
His head was pillowed on William's stomach, one leg was draped over Ollie, and the other leg was pressed firmly against Lynn's chest! No wonder he felt heavy!
Lynn pulled out his wand from beside his pillow and pointed it at the ungracefully sleeping Edgar.
The soundly sleeping Edgar floated up lightly.
With a wave of Lynn's wand, he controlled him to 'drift' smoothly to the corner of the tent where the luggage was piled and gently set him down.
Obstacle cleared! Lynn rushed out of the tent at full speed!
It had started raining heavily outside at some point; raindrops pattered against the tent, and thunder rumbled occasionally.
Lynn saw a dense thicket not far away, behind which seemed to be a small earthen slope. It was a secluded spot that looked like it 'needed fertilizing'.
"I can't worry about that anymore! Manners? I'll deal with those after I'm done!" Lynn rushed over in a few strides, impatiently pulling at the elastic of his pajama pants, ready to 'release the flood'.
At this critical, most relaxed, and most vulnerable moment—Lynn felt a tightening in his gut.
He forcefully held back the 'torrent' that had already reached the gates! He didn't even turn to see what it was before his body shot up into the air like a cannonball!
Rumble—!!!
With a dull thud, a massive shadow crashed straight toward the thicket where Lynn had just been standing!
"Holy crap!"
Lynn's wand immediately pointed toward the muddy ground below. He wanted to see exactly what kind of thing dared to launch a sneak attack during his most vulnerable moment! Was it tired of living?!
The thing's size was indeed not small—one could even say huge, like an oversized rhinoceros.
But its skin was a grayish-purple, rough and thick, covered in bumps and horn-like layers.
Most prominent were the two curved, sharp giant horns on its head, which looked very piercing.
Lynn looked closer: "An Erumpent?!"
He recognized this thing; it was recorded in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It was a Class XXXX dangerous creature, thick-skinned, bad-tempered, and highly territorial, usually inhabiting remote hilly regions of Europe.
But how could such a thing appear within the grounds of Hogwarts? Was it something Hagrid raised and then lost?!
Just as his head was full of question marks, a familiar notification sounded:
[Ding! Mission Issed]
[Mission Description: A young Erumpent that has accidentally 'gone astray'. It seems very confused and irritable in the heavy rain and needs a warm 'home'.]
[As a helpful Wizard, please use your 'kindness' to help it find its 'destination'!]
[Reward: Erumpent Charge]
[Effect: Can launch an unstoppable straight-line charge at a target, easily smashing solid rocks, walls, and other obstacles, dealing massive damage and a forced knockback effect to enemies.]
[I never said to help it find its 'original' home. (Wink wink.jpg)]
"Sigh—" Lynn drew out his tone, pointing his wand at the Erumpent, his voice suddenly becoming 'earnest'.
"Look here, little horned brother, it's not that I'm lecturing you, but you're all grown up. How can you still run around at night and get yourself lost? It's so dangerous! In this pitch blackness, it's not good to bump into the flowers and grass, and scaring the children... ah no, scaring a Wizard is even worse."
The Erumpent gave a low roar, its hind hooves kicking hard. Lowering its head, it aimed its two terrifying sharp horns at Lynn again, ready to launch a second charge!
"Don't be in such a hurry, don't be in such a hurry!" Lynn waved his wand leisurely. "You're scared because you're lost, right? You want a home, right? Don't worry, I, Lynn, am the most warm-hearted. I'll arrange a 'warm and comfortable, all-inclusive, never-have-to-worry-about-getting-lost-again'—new home for you!"
Before he finished speaking, the tip of his wand lit up with light, aiming at the massive beast that was about to pounce.
Erumpent: I'm about to jump!
"Flipendo!"
