Joji kept staring into the forest, sighing now and then as he shook his head.
"Vibe check, you good?" Rizz asked, concern plain in his voice.
Joji had far better night vision than the rest of them, and that was the problem. The forest was far too active. Too many movements. Too many things slipping between the trees.
He looked from the dark woodland to Rizz, then to the six kobolds, and finally to himself. He would likely survive if he pushed in tonight. The others would not fare nearly as well.
He had no intention of risking their safety for his own gain, not for a trip he was already certain would bear no fruit.
"I'm alright, Rizz." Joji paused, then raised his voice so everyone could hear. "We'll set camp right here tonight."
"Aren't we at least going to check it out?" Kobto asked.
Joji looked at them all before answering.
