After obtaining the trident, Mera felt her power surge. Together with Han Shaoqing, she came ashore and arrived at the base.
"Master, who is this beautiful lady?" Charles asked, his gaze sweeping over the trident as he spoke.
Since the Battle of Cuba, Namor had vanished without a trace. Now that his trident was in the hands of a stranger, it seemed highly likely that Namor had met his end.
Charles felt only mild regret at Namor's fate, having only exchanged a brief glance with the man.
"Mera, an Atlantean. She's come to ask the Sea King to return to Atlantis and restore order," Mera said, having rehearsed the line with Han Shaoqing.
Artoria glanced at Mera standing beside Han Shaoqing, a inexplicable anger rising within her. She let out a cold snort and turned her head away, her ahoge twitching restlessly, betraying her inner turmoil.
"Atlantis? The legendary sunken kingdom actually exists!"
Erik, oblivious to Artoria's mood, turned to Han Shaoqing with a smile. "Master, it seems you truly are the Sea King. Should we pay our respects?"
Han Shaoqing waved his hand dismissively. "No need to stand on ceremony. Who isn't a king these days? Namor is dead, and Atlantis is now leaderless and in chaos. I need to go back and sort things out. I'll leave the matter of Skull Island to all of you."
Alex, half-jokingly and half-seriously, asked, "Master, or Your Highness the Sea King, may I accompany you to Atlantis for a visit?"
Salvador, Hank, and the others also looked on with longing expressions.
Han Shaoqing shook his head slightly. "I'm afraid that's not possible. Atlantis is located in the deep sea, where the pressure is immense and the temperature is frigid. Without specialized protective gear, ordinary people can't withstand the extreme pressure and the underwater environment. Once I've stabilized Atlantis, I'll send a ship to pick you up for a tour."
He then turned to Raven and Darwin. "You two have the ability to adapt through Survival of the Fittest, so you might be able to withstand the deep-sea environment. If you're interested, you can come with me."
"Really? That's amazing!" Raven exclaimed, her personality as lively as ever. She was still very curious about the legendary Atlantis.
As for Darwin, after being saved by Han Shaoqing, he became completely loyal and would not hesitate to help if he could.
Red Tank could also survive in the deep sea, but Han Shaoqing had ordered him to guard the base.
"What about me?" Artoria asked, looking at Han Shaoqing with hopeful eyes.
Han Shaoqing patted her shoulder and said, "You won't be joining this mission. Your abilities aren't well-suited for the deep sea. Stay here and ensure everyone's safety."
"Then be careful yourself," Artoria replied.
Knowing Han Shaoqing's strength, she wasn't worried about his safety. Her gaze, however, swept toward Mera with a hint of hostility.
Mera blinked in surprise before meeting Artoria's gaze, and sparks seemed to fly between them.
"We can't delay any longer. Let's go," Han Shaoqing said, sensing the tension. He immediately used Mind Transmission to activate spatial teleportation, leaving with Mera, Darwin, and Raven.
The matter of Atlantis had been dragging on for too long. If it remained unresolved, unforeseen complications could arise, potentially leading to war between Atlantis and the surface world.
With Atlantis's technology, a single massive tsunami could create a devastating natural disaster, engulfing numerous coastal nations—a outcome Han Shaoqing desperately wanted to avoid.
Moreover, his self-proclaimed title as Sea King lacked legitimacy.
Once he controlled Atlantis, who could deny his right to the title?
Activating Mind Transmission, Han Shaoqing, Mera, Darwin, and Raven materialized above the ruins of Atlantis.
They avoided teleporting directly into the city, fearing Darwin and Raven couldn't withstand the sudden shift in pressure.
Though Han Shaoqing could have created an anti-gravity field to protect them, he had brought Raven and Darwin here to temper their abilities.
Overly protective care would hinder their growth.
The four submerged into the ocean. Darwin quickly evolved gills, allowing him to breathe freely underwater.
Raven grabbed Mera's hand and transformed into her exact likeness, save for the missing trident.
"How did you do that?" Mera asked, astonished at the sight of her identical twin.
In the DC World, Atlanteans look virtually indistinguishable from humans, especially the Royal Family of Xebel. Their physical prowess, however, far surpasses that of humans, and they possess the ability to breathe underwater. A rare few even command special powers.
"You can talk underwater?"
Raven heard Mera's voice and instinctively replied, only to realize she could also speak underwater.
Darwin, on the other hand, could only mimic fish and blow bubbles. Perhaps with enough time, he too could evolve the ability to speak underwater.
"That's an Atlantean ability," Mera explained to Raven.
Though the Atlanteans of DC and Marvel differ in some ways, they share certain similarities that outsiders would never guess.
One dared to speak, the other dared to believe.
Han Shaoqing remained silent. Raven's power was growing at the fastest rate among all Mutants.
She had already simulated the Red Devil's and Darwin's superpowers, and now she had acquired Mera's physique and hydrokinesis. In a real fight, Charles and Erik might not even stand a chance against her.
If Han Shaoqing hadn't restrained her, she probably would have simulated every Mutant in the base by now.
This outcome was likely due to Raven's inability to withstand multiple X-Genes, causing her body to collapse.
After all, both Charles and Erik possessed the potential to become fifth-tier Mutants. For Raven to simulate both their powers in such a short time was still too demanding.
Han Shaoqing advised Raven to progress gradually, focusing on strategic selection rather than trying to simulate every power. Otherwise, the gains would not outweigh the losses.
Since acquiring Darwin's Survival of the Fittest and Evolution abilities, Raven's potential had already increased dramatically.
Given time, as her powers grew more numerous and refined, Raven's future achievements would undoubtedly surpass Apocalypse's.
Among all Mutants, it was estimated that only a select few, like the Scarlet Witch and Phoenix, would be able to suppress her.
As these thoughts swirled in his mind, Han Shaoqing and his team had already infiltrated the deep-sea zone.
Whether it was Han Shaoqing's jinx or simply coincidence, Atlantis was indeed in chaos.
A horde of snarling, ferocious aquatic beasts was attacking the Atlantis Empire.
These creatures were massive, generally exceeding ten meters in length, far more savage and bloodthirsty than sharks. And there were countless of them.
