Caught between two attackers and facing a surprise assault from behind, Handsome Guy found himself surrounded. With a swift maneuver, he seized the Skull Lizard on his left by the neck and slammed it into the one on his right.
*Thud!* The two creatures' skulls collided violently, cracking their bony heads and leaving both dazed and disoriented.
At that moment, the Skull Lizard attacking from behind opened its massive jaws and lunged at Handsome Guy's nape.
*Whoosh! Whoosh!*
Just in time, two ten-meter-long Superalloy spears descended from the sky in perfect arcs, piercing through the ribs of both Skull Lizards and impaling them through their lower abdomens, pinning them to the ground.
The attacker was Magneto Eric.
With no distractions, Handsome Guy focused on the two Skull Lizards still within reach.
He locked his arm around the neck of the dazed Skull Lizard in his grasp, lifting it into the air. As the other Skull Lizard struggled to rise from the ground, Handsome Guy stomped down with all his might, crushing its head into the dirt and splattering brain matter.
The Skull Lizard in his grip thrashed wildly. Handsome Guy swung his battle axe upward, cleaving through its belly and disemboweling it before tossing it aside like a rag doll.
"ROAR!!"
Having dealt with the Skull Lizard that had crawled out, Handsome Guy planted his battle axe in the ground, pounded his chest with both hands like a war drum, and let out a deafening roar.
It was as if he were declaring to all creatures that he would forever remain the coolest guy on Skull Island.
"Eric, Handsome Guy, be careful! There are many more Skull Lizards underground, and they're climbing up!"
Charles's voice echoed simultaneously in Eric and Handsome Guy's minds.
"Let them come."
Without his helmet, Eric levitated into the air, surveying the land below with a commanding gaze.
Handsome Guy, battle axe in hand, crept silently toward the area Charles had indicated. He raised his axe, waiting for the Skull Lizards to reveal themselves.
Charles could actually control these massive Skull Lizards, but he couldn't force two of them to kill each other. When he controlled a target, his mental energy formed a link with it, allowing him to share its sensations. In other words, if the controlled target was injured, Charles would feel the same pain.
This pain wouldn't affect his physical body, but the mental anguish still tormented him.
Thus, Charles served as a temporary scout, identifying the Skull Lizards' locations and relaying the information directly into Handsome Guy and Eric's minds.
Handsome Guy lay in ambush, waiting for the Skull Lizards to fall into his trap.
Meanwhile, Eric controlled dozens of Superalloy spears, ready to strike at any moment.
*To do a good job, one must first sharpen one's tools.*
After arriving on Skull Island and learning he would face numerous massive monsters, Eric had prepared these spears for any eventuality.
The Skull Lizards burrowing underground were unaware of the situation above. The soil blocked their senses, allowing them to hear Handsome Guy's earlier roar but not smell him.
Soon, the first Skull Lizard burst through the earth, revealing its grotesque head.
It was met by Handsome Guy's axe.
*Crack!* The battle axe sank into the Skull Lizard's skull, splattering brain matter and bone. The creature died instantly.
Handsome Guy dragged the corpse out and let out a provocative roar down the hole, essentially taunting, "Come and get me!"
"Roar! Roar! Roar!!!"
The Skull Lizard roared back, its message clear: "Stay and fight, you coward!"
After years of dormancy, the Skull Lizard tribe had multiplied, unlike Handsome Guy, who was a lone beast.
Hearing the taunt, they swarmed out of the ground, determined to finish off the last Kong and claim dominance over Skull Island.
After roaring, Handsome Guy retreated a distance. Immediately, seven or eight more holes appeared around him.
These Skull Lizards were cunning. If Handsome Guy hadn't run away in time, the lizards crawling out of the other holes would have instantly surrounded him.
A total of thirteen Skull Lizards emerged from the ground, each larger than the previous ones. The largest among them stood nearly fifty meters tall and measured over seventy meters long, dwarfing Handsome Guy. This was the very creature that had been one of the main culprits in killing his parents.
"ROAR!"
Handsome Guy clearly recognized his enemy. His eyes blazed with fury as he let out a furious roar.
At the same time, Artoria, Charles, and the others rushed to the scene.
"I'll help them!" Angel Salvador declared, preparing to take flight.
"Don't go!" Charles called out. "There are many Icarus Wings nearby. Your defenses are insufficient, and flying into the air would be too dangerous. Leave this to Red Tank and Ravager Alex."
"Understood," Red Tank replied curtly, striding forward.
With his thick hide and immense strength, Red Tank might struggle against a full-grown Titan, but crushing these Skull Lizards would be no problem. Even if a lizard managed to bite him, it wouldn't be able to kill him.
"Finally, I can show what I'm made of," Ravager Alex said, donning his black battle suit and moving to join the fight.
Angel Salvador, Siren Sean, and Beast Hank remained by Eric's side.
Artoria stood with her *Sword of Promised Victory*, not rushing into battle. She believed Eric and the others were capable of handling the trouble.
The battle began with the roar of the Skull Lizards. Handsome Guy, though brave, was overwhelmed when facing all thirteen alone. He opted for a kiting strategy, stretching the battle line to pick them off one by one.
Eric, however, had fewer concerns. Protected by his magnetic field, he soared through the air, immune to the Icarus Wings' aerial attacks. The Skull Lizards couldn't jump that high, allowing him to unleash his attacks with impunity.
*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*
Under Eric's control, superalloy spears flew down like arrows from a drawn bow.
In an instant, three Skull Lizards were impaled to the ground.
*Roar!*
Only then did the Skull Lizards notice the small figure in the sky, but they were helpless.
Their jumping ability was incredible, but they couldn't fly. Eric, perched at an altitude of 500 meters, held the aerial advantage, leaving them vulnerable.
The Skull Lizards dodged and weaved, but Eric's magnetic field allowed him to adjust his aim, making his strikes nearly flawless.
In the blink of an eye, two more Skull Lizards were pinned to the ground, their desperate wails echoing.
The remaining Skull Lizards panicked. Seizing the moment, Handsome Guy's battle axe flashed, cleaving through one that had closed in.
Before he could withdraw the axe, another Skull Lizard lunged. Its gaping maw had just opened when Alex's laser beam pierced through the jaws, blasting a hole through the back of its skull.
In a short time, seven of the thirteen Skull Lizards had been killed.
