Deep in the ocean, gazing at the magnificent city of Atlantis and sensing the feedback from countless marine creatures, Han Shaoqing felt a pang of melancholy.
Humanity's relentless development had led to increasingly severe pollution of the oceans, with all manner of garbage and wastewater dumped into the seas.
Coupled with the rampant overfishing and oil exploitation, the marine environment and ecosystem had been severely damaged.
If Han Shaoqing weren't human and couldn't feel the suffering of the sea creatures, he would have wanted to unleash a massive tsunami to engulf surface civilization.
After all, who would want to live upstairs from a neighbor who constantly litters, makes a racket, undermines your walls, and even defecates and urinates overhead?
Then again, living in the ocean meant being surrounded by the excrement of countless creatures...
Just the thought made Han Shaoqing feel uneasy even while submerged!
No wonder DC's Aquaman was jokingly called "Fish Piss Man."
"Forget it, the more I think about it, the angrier I get!"
Han Shaoqing calmed himself and summoned Mera, who had recently become queen. "I plan to leave for a while. I'll leave the management of Atlantis to you."
"You've only been Sea King for a few days and you already want to be a hands-off ruler?"
Mera looked at Han Shaoqing with a hint of resentment. She had given him everything, yet after a brief moment of intimacy, he was leaving and entrusting her with the management of the vast kingdom of Atlantis. Was this trust, or abandonment?
"I'm not leaving for good, just need to get some fresh air. Be good, and I'll bring you a gift when I return."
Still unaccustomed to life underwater, Han Shaoqing comforted Mera and planned to head to the surface for some activity, and to pay a visit to Wakanda to seize vibranium.
Before that, Han Shaoqing and Raven returned to Skull Island.
He briefed the others on the situation in Atlantis and learned that Camazotz had been destroyed.
Han Shaoqing felt a pang of regret. After all, it was a Titan Beast. If he had been able to "check in" with it, he might have received some valuable rewards.
With that settled, he didn't press further. After a while, he sought out Eric alone.
"I need your help with something."
Han Shaoqing intended to take Eric to Wakanda.
When it came to magnetic fields, Magneto was still the master.
Han Shaoqing had already cultivated the Muscle Transformation Classic to the Seamless Battle Mark stage of the Black Grade Floating Pagoda, even surpassing Bodhidharma's achievements.
He also possessed the ability to control magnetic fields, but he was still no match for Magneto, the professional.
Intrigued that Han Shaoqing had asked for his help, Eric inquired, "What do you need me to do?"
"Move a vibranium deposit," Han Shaoqing replied.
As he spoke, he grabbed Eric's arm and teleported them both high above Africa.
Simultaneously, he began explaining the origin of vibranium.
"Vibranium, also known as 'sound-absorbing steel,' originally came from a meteorite that fell to Earth in Wakanda, Africa, millions of years ago. It's one of the hardest metals on Earth, second only to Adamantium in terms of alloy hardness. However, due to its ability to absorb kinetic energy, it's superior in defensive capabilities."
"Wait, what's Adamantium?" Eric asked curiously.
Han Shaoqing patiently explained, "Adamantium is another extraterrestrial metal, the hardest known substance on Earth. Once refined and cooled, Adamantium ore remains completely unmelted even at temperatures as high as 500,000 degrees Celsius."
"Captain America's shield is made with a blend of Adamantium and vibranium, which is why it's virtually indestructible."
"Vibranium has remarkable vibrational properties. Its unique molecular structure makes it nearly indestructible and allows it to absorb heat, energy, and kinetic energy, then release it. This makes it ideal for crafting highly defensive armor and weapons."
"Our goal isn't just the Earth before us, but the vast oceans of stars beyond. Superpowers alone aren't enough; we must also master technology. We need to grasp both, and hold them equally tight..."
Under Han Shaoqing's silver tongue, Eric couldn't help but fantasize about the future. His blood surged with excitement, and he grew impatient to drain Wakanda dry and join Han Shaoqing in conquering the cosmos.
As they talked, they flew to East Africa.
"This is it. There seems to be an energy barrier. I can't see inside, but I can sense a large amount of special metal within—it must be the vibranium you mentioned."
Hovering in mid-air, Eric looked ahead at a seemingly ordinary forest. If not for the magnetic field revealing the metal within, he might have been deceived.
Han Shaoqing smiled. "Wakanda may appear poor and backward, but it's actually the most advanced nation on Earth after Atlantis. While Black people outside starve and are oppressed, this place is a hidden paradise. This must be Birnin Zana, the capital of Wakanda."
Because of the electromagnetic field generated by the energy barrier, Han Shaoqing's Mental Transmission couldn't directly teleport him inside Wakanda.
Wakanda's external energy shield perfectly concealed its presence while providing formidable protection, capable of withstanding even nuclear bombardment.
In terms of defensive capabilities alone, it surpassed even Atlantis's energy shield.
"Let's go inside and take a look!"
Han Shaoqing approached the transparent shield. Activating Vector Manipulation, he effortlessly opened a gap and flew inside with Eric.
Once inside Wakanda, the scene was completely different from what they had seen from the outside.
Amidst the towering mountains, a hidden paradise unfolded. At its center lay a thriving, technologically advanced city. In the distance, a massive black panther statue could be seen nestled in the mountainside.
The entire statue was crafted from vibranium. If sold, it could have bought an entire country!
In Wakanda's core region, skyscrapers soared into the sky, far surpassing even the bustling Manhattan district of the United States.
Due to the era, Wakanda was not yet as prosperous as it would become by the time of the Avengers.
While the main city exuded a futuristic aura, the rest of the region retained its tribal, chiefdom-style aesthetic. Most Wakandans remained scantily clad, living in caves and thatched huts, appearing like uncivilized savages exuding an aura of primitive backwardness.
Science fiction and primal instinct intertwine—this is the current state of Wakanda.
Despite possessing technology far surpassing the outside world, their way of life remains strikingly primitive. Even tribal warfare resembles village brawls, with a strong emphasis on close-quarters combat.
This creates an absurd contrast.
*Wail! Wail! Wail!*
The moment Han Shaoqing and Eric shattered the energy barrier, a piercing alarm blared through the Wakanda base.
"What's happening?"
"An intruder has breached our defenses."
"Find them immediately!"
Wakanda practices isolationism, only engaging in trade with the outside world when necessary.
They understand the wisdom of not flaunting their wealth.
