Chapter 82 - Chapter 82 – Advanced Vasto Lorde

Two full years passed from the day Sombravida entered seclusion.

Advancing to Vasto Lorde was not a simple metamorphosis like evolving from Gillian to Adjuchas. It was a restructuring of spiritual existence — density, structure, and identity all refined to an entirely different level.

During those two years, Sombravida's territory transformed drastically.

Not only did infrastructure expand, but Timd's technological development also progressed beyond primitive coordination. Most notably, long-distance spiritual communication became a reality.

Around the central cliff, Timd constructed a massive spiritual relay tower.

Unlike electromagnetic transmission from the Human World, this system operated entirely on reiatsu frequency resonance. By broadcasting his own spiritual pressure in a controlled wavelength, Timd created a carrier spectrum through which encoded spiritual fluctuations could travel.

Any device calibrated to his spiritual frequency could receive and transmit information.

Instead of electricity, reiatsu functioned as both power source and signal.

Due to interference from surrounding Hollow spiritual pressure — which in Hueco Mundo was chaotic and omnipresent — effective communication ranges were limited.

Within 500 kilometers: stable and secure.

Around 1000 kilometers: minor distortion.

Near 3000 kilometers: severe degradation, usable only under low interference.

Beyond that: unreliable.

Still, this was revolutionary.

In Bleach canon, Hollows relied primarily on direct sensing and instinctual detection. True structured communication networks in Hueco Mundo were unheard of outside Las Noches under Aizen.

Timd's development placed Sombravida's territory far ahead of any unaffiliated Hollow faction.

Additionally, a nearly 1000-meter spire rose from the cliff's center — a signal lighthouse.

Its purpose was twofold:

Long-range reiatsu monitoring.

Territorial psychological dominance.

In Hueco Mundo, towering structures were not unusual — Menos-class Hollows alone could exceed hundreds of meters — but a fixed artificial beacon signaled organized authority.

Within two years, Sombravida's faction solidified.

Peak Adjuchas (Sub-rank equivalents in your structure):

Nel

Jekain

Doccatia

Ram

High-level Adjuchas:

Lixton

Defenser

And others

Hundreds of mid-tier.

Thousands of low-tier.

In Bleach canon terms, this was already a serious Adjuchas-dominant faction — though still far below Vasto Lorde sovereign powers like Barragan.

Importantly, very few Adjuchas ever evolved into Vasto Lorde. That threshold was almost mythical. Most Hollows plateaued permanently.

Sombravida's emergence would change the faction's status completely.

Inside the throne hall, Nel lay lazily on her hay bedding while Jekain handled reports.

"New hunting grounds discovered," a subordinate reported, presenting a carved bone tablet.

Written record-keeping had been standardized thanks to books Sombravida had brought from the Human World. Unlike the chaotic, feral existence most Hollows endured, Sombravida's faction was developing structure.

"If they submit, absorb them. If they resist, eliminate them," Jekain ordered calmly.

Nel sighed.

"Two years…"

"Thirty-second time today," Jekain replied dryly.

Barragan's envoys had been waiting for over six months.

Sombravida's evolution had far exceeded typical Adjuchas-to-Vasto transformation timelines.

Then—

BOOM!!!

A catastrophic surge of azure-gold reiatsu detonated from beneath the stronghold.

The pressure was immense.

Not chaotic.

Condensed.

Oppressive.

Several low-tier Hollows nearly collapsed under its weight.

Immediately, defensive barriers activated per Sombravida's prior instructions.

Nel's eyes widened.

"He's awake."

She vanished instantly.

Jekain followed.

They reached the training grounds.

The gates had shattered from internal pressure.

Inside—

The spiritual storm began receding.

Reiatsu condensed inward.

Stabilized.

And from within the settling dust—

Sombravida stepped forward.

He was still under two meters tall — small by Hollow standards — but his presence dwarfed everything around him.

In Bleach canon, true Vasto Lordes are human-sized and possess extremely condensed spiritual pressure. Sombravida now matched that archetype.

His mask remained, but no longer fused heavily with armor plating.

The excessive bone structure of his Adjuchas form had refined into smooth, steel-like Hierro layered across his body.

Compact.

Efficient.

Lethal.

Both arms now moved freely. The former grotesque claw had refined into a precise, weaponized limb capable of blade control.

His reiatsu no longer leaked wildly.

It pressed outward like gravitational force.

Hundreds of Adjuchas knelt instantly.

Without coercion.

Instinct alone.

Vasto Lorde.

In canon, fewer than a few dozen natural Vasto Lordes existed at any given era. They were said to rival or surpass Captain-class Shinigami.

Sombravida vanished.

Reappeared in the sky.

And roared.

Not releasing reiatsu—

Just presence.

Even that sent chills down lower-ranked Hollows.

Sombravida assessed himself calmly.

"So this is Vasto Lorde…"

Unlike Adjuchas, whose growth depended heavily on devouring, a Vasto Lorde's structure stabilized.

They no longer degenerated through imbalance.

They no longer required constant feeding to prevent regression.

Instead, their reiatsu circulated naturally, drawing in ambient spiritual particles from Hueco Mundo — though not at an infinite or explosive rate.

Growth was slow but steady.

Comparable to low-tier absorption daily.

Sombravida understood something important:

Devouring no longer meant survival.

Now it meant acceleration.

He thought of Aizen.

Aizen without incantation casting high-level Kido.

Aizen effortlessly overwhelming Captains.

Even before the Hōgyoku's full activation, Aizen's spiritual pressure was described as monstrous — rivaling Yamamoto in density if not experience.

"Beginner Vasto Lorde…" Sombravida muttered.

"Not enough yet."

He remembered something critical.

Arrancar.

Specifically—

Coyote Starrk.

A naturally occurring Arrancar whose power manifested without the Hōgyoku.

Sombravida turned to Timd.

"Any news of Stark?"

None.

Barragan's envoys had been waiting.

Sombravida had slept for two years.

Two years.

In Hueco Mundo, that was nothing.

Yet evolution timing varied wildly.

Some Hollows took decades.

Some centuries.

Sombravida's rapid rise was already abnormal.

"Inform Barragan I have awakened. I will visit in a few days."

Timd reported technological updates proudly.

Sombravida approved.

But expansion across all Hueco Mundo was unrealistic.

Base stations could not survive random Cero bombardment.

True dominion required strength — not towers.

"Find Stark," Sombravida ordered.

If Stark awakened into an autonomous Arrancar soon, it would drastically alter Hueco Mundo's power landscape before Aizen's arrival.

Later, Sombravida called Nel.

They traveled several kilometers away.

Before he could speak—

Nel pressed against him.

Three to four years had passed since meaningful contact.

Sombravida understood.

For Hollows, bonds were rare.

But once formed, they were absolute.

"Why so long?" she asked quietly.

"Constitution," Sombravida replied lightly.

Just as Adjuchas evolution varied, so too did Vasto Lorde ascension.

He gently tapped her mask.

"So, Lord Sombravida," Nel asked, steadying herself, "why are we here?"

Sombravida's eyes gleamed faintly under his mask.

"To test my abilities and see what changes have occurred after their advancement!"
