Just when I thought life couldn't get worse," Hailey muttered as she stood in front of Miss Bennette's grave.
She died in her sleep, one of the most peaceful deaths one could ask for and Hailey was grateful for that, her tears came down her cheek and a sad smile played on her lips.
Everyone had left but she remained there staring at the grave, Hailey thought she was still sleeping when she left the house for that job two days ago.
She knew the old lady was an early riser but she thought it was fine to sleep a little more, he had no idea the woman had died.
At least she's with her husband right now, for a moment Hailey wished she was dead like Mrs Bennette then she would go to her parents and yell at them for leaving her all alone.
She had just five days left to raise Hardin's money and she hadn't even made a dime, as expected she wasn't paid for the job, after walking around in that painful heel.
Would she go to prison in five days time or should she take her chances with Hardin? More tears came out of Hailey's eyes.
"I'm supposed to be mourning the only woman who granted me a place to stay and here I am mourning my unfortunate condition" Hailey said.
"I'm sorry ma'am, rest in peace" she said before turning and walking away.
Hailey went straight to the restaurant, she couldn't take a day off, not when she had a deadline to meet.
"Your mood gets worse everyday," Lucas said worriedly.
"Is it really that obvious?" Hailey said with a small smile, she was always good at hiding her emotions but she really didn't have the strength these days.
"Of course it's obvious, Amanda said the same thing yesterday" Lucas said and Hailey chuckled.
"I guess I was the topic of discussion for a sweet couple, what an achievement" Hailey said sarcastically with a smile and Lucas chuckled.
Amanda and Lucas had been dating for a while and it was because of Hailey, Amanda wanted to know where Hailey did her other part time jobs and she met Lucas, they started off as friends but with time they started dating.
"Cheer up a bit, you don't have to overwork yourself" Lucas said and Hailey smiled.
If only he knows the situation she was in at the moment.
"I know" she replied and walked into the changing room.

"How is the new design coming up?" Hardin asked Fedrick
"It's perfect, with the sales of the new car going up I am very sure with the new design it would sky rocket" Fedrick said with a wide smile and Hardin nodded.
"What about Rasino cars, have they made any move yet?" Hardin asked.
"No, since the launch of our new car, they are eerily quiet, maybe they have nothing that can beat ours" Fedrick said confidently.
"Cole isn't one to stay quiet, he is probably waiting for the right moment, don't relax till they launch their new car and we are sure it's nothing compared to ours" Hardin said and Fredrick nodded in understanding.
"How is she doing?" Hardin asked after a while.
"She is still looking for more jobs and as you instructed, I have made sure she doesn't get accepted in any" Fedrick replied and Hardin nodded.
"Even if she works around the clock there's no way she would raise that amount in a week, I don't get why you said to stop her from getting more jobs" Fedrick said and Hardin glared at him.
"You don't get to speak, just follow orders" Hardin said and Fedrick nodded slowly.

"Another unfortunate rejection" Hailey said as she stared at her phone, she slumped on the couch and looked up at the ceiling.
She had been applying for different jobs but kept getting rejected, it's not like she wanted a professional job, why did she keep getting rejected.
"Even the universe hates me, am I jinxed? Why is life so unfair" Hailey said sadly.
"Just three days left and I haven't even gotten a dime, am I truly going to go to prison?" She muttered as she lay on the couch.
She brought out her phone and searched Hardin Anthony, she had never actually thought of knowing about him but she is just curious right now.
An article came up on him and she read through it, her face showing an expression of shock.
He is a billionaire who owns a car company, one of the biggest car companies in America, no.. the biggest car company in America.
How did she get involved with a man like this, would he even remember her? Someone like that would probably forget she even exists and for the first time in days Hailey smiled genuinely.
He must have even forgotten about her and here she was stressing herself about getting enough money to pay such an enormous debt. She breathed in relief as she sensed hope.

"I'm leaving" Hailey said to Lucas and he smiled at her.
"Sure, good night" he replied and she walked out of the restaurant. Today was supposed to be the day she paid her debt but she wasn't so worried.
A part of her is saying she was in trouble but a big part believed that he had forgotten about her, she was a nobody struggling to make ends meet, he definitely couldn't care less about her.
Hailey entered the bus as she put on her ear piece, when the bus stopped she got down and walked towards her apartment building.
As she got closer to the building she saw Fedrick standing in front of the apartment building, she didn't recognize him at first but it dawned on her.
This is Hardin's assistant, shit!!
"Miss Clarke, my boss would like to see you, please get in the car" Fedrick said politely and Hailey felt her heart beating in her chest.
Her heart could jump out of her any moment from now with the way it was beating.
"I'm doomed," Hailey muttered.
