Entering Odin's Vault, Qin Xiao realized that not all movie scenes could be trusted.
In his youth, Odin had conquered countless worlds across the universe. How could the Vault possibly contain only the few items shown in the movies?
In truth, Odin's Vault was filled with an astonishing variety of treasures, its richness rivaling even the Collector's collection in *Guardians of the Galaxy*. Many items that collectors dreamed of were here, including a three-meter-tall glass case containing a perfectly preserved Groot.
"What is this?" Qin Xiao asked, pointing at the Groot.
"This is a Groot," Thor replied, having been pulled over by Odin to escort Qin Xiao into the Vault. "Their species is extremely rare. When I was a child, one of our tutors was a Groot, and Groot was an elective course. Later, when he died of old age, my father preserved his body. You know, Groot are almost impossible to find these days!"
"So they come here to tutor you, and when they die, they turn them into specimens and display them here? How utterly remarkable."
Qin Xiao glanced at the tragic Groot corpse and looked away.
Various bizarre weapons and armor were displayed. Qin Xiao even spotted three Dragonfang Swords.
"Dragonfang Swords used by the Valkyries. I desperately wanted one as a child. They were once part of one of Asgard's most powerful armies, but for some reason, they all vanished later."
Thor acted like a tour guide showing a visitor around a museum. Every time Qin Xiao looked at something, Thor would offer a brief explanation.
After touring the vault and seeing a vast array of peculiar items, Qin Xiao was truly amazed. However, he didn't see any of the items from the movies.
Confused, Qin Xiao asked Thor, "Is this all? This is the Allfather's Vault. Aren't there any more powerful items, like Divine Artifacts such as your hammer?"
"There aren't many Divine Artifacts, but there are definitely more. However, the usage restrictions on those artifacts are too severe; I fear you wouldn't be able to use them. If there's nothing here that catches your eye, I'll take you to see them!"
As Thor spoke, he reached the innermost part of the Vault and pushed hard against the wall.
This was the Vault as depicted in the movies—it turned out there was an inner vault, where the real treasures were stored.
The Casket of Ancient Winters, the Eternal Flame, and the Infinity Gauntlet, which was rumored to be a fake, were all there.
"This gauntlet? The size isn't for an ordinary person, is it? And what's with the gems on it?" Qin Xiao asked, picking up the Infinity Gauntlet and feigning ignorance.
"This is the gauntlet that helps one control the power of the Infinity Stones. The previous Dwarf King of Nidavellir forged it to fit his own hand. He originally intended to create a Divine Artifact that could perfectly house all six Infinity Stones, achieving the pinnacle of his forging skills."
"But as soon as it was finished, countless ambitious individuals across the universe sought to seize the gauntlet and control the Infinity Stones. Helpless, the Dwarf King had to present it to my father, hoping his father's prestige would deter those who coveted the gauntlet."
As Thor explained, Qin Xiao realized that the gauntlet itself was genuine. The imitation Hela had mentioned must have referred to the gemstones on the gauntlet, not the gauntlet itself.
The Dwarf King had forged it to prove his craftsmanship, but to avoid further trouble, he had ultimately gifted it to Odin.
This explanation made perfect sense, though Qin Xiao wondered if it was an unspoken detail in Marvel's lore or a correction made upon arriving in this real world.
Nodding noncommittally, Qin Xiao turned his attention to the Casket of Ancient Winters.
"This is a Divine Artifact of the Frost Giants..." Thor patiently continued his explanation, detailing each item one by one.
Qin Xiao sensed the Casket of Ancient Winters. Without the Frost Giant bloodline, he couldn't activate it at all.
Ignoring the Infinity Gauntlet's size, he knew it was practically useless without the Infinity Stones.
To be honest, there seemed to be very little in Odin's Vault that he could actually use.
Lost in thought, Qin Xiao approached the Eternal Flame.
The next moment, something unexpected happened.
The instant he drew near the Eternal Flame...
The Eternal Flame, which had been burning quietly in its vessel, suddenly flared up as if a massive amount of fuel had been thrown onto it.
The flames surged upward, leaping over two meters high in an instant.
The fire's reach instantly broke through the vessel's boundaries, expanding outward by about a meter. Then, the flames shifted, and the entire mass, now larger than a person, lunged toward Qin Xiao.
Like swallows returning to their nests, the massive flames swarmed toward Qin Xiao, burrowing into his mouth, nostrils, and even every pore on his body.
The change was so swift that Qin Xiao and Thor were completely caught off guard.
*My hair...*
The thought had barely formed in Qin Xiao's mind before the flames had already surged into his mouth and nostrils.
As if possessing sentience, the fire swirled and danced through his pores and seven orifices.
Thor stood frozen in shock. He knew the flames were dangerous, but in all his countless visits to the Vault since childhood, he had never seen them behave this way.
By the time he realized what was happening, the flames had already surged through Qin Xiao's seven orifices, burrowing into his body.
*This is bad,* he thought, instinctively wanting to intervene.
But Qin Xiao's body erupted in light, transforming entirely into flames.
Strangely, his clothes, skin, and even hair remained perfectly intact, untouched by the fiery transformation.
Qin Xiao's experience, however, was far from pleasant. The moment the flames entered his body, a torrent of violent, scorching energy tore through him.
The Hulk Serum he had previously consumed paled in comparison, like a firecracker versus a hand grenade.
The chaotic energy rampaged through his body, shredding muscles, veins, and bones, sparing no corner of his anatomy.
"Aaaaaah!"
With a roar, a blast of flames erupted from his mouth, melting a massive hole through the wall!
Meanwhile, deep beneath the Golden Palace, a rune symbolizing the power of Asgard's fire rule began to surge uncontrollably from somewhere underground.
It burst straight through the earth and shot towards the Golden Palace.
"Damn it!"
Odin, who had been casually chatting with the Ancient One, roared and sprang to his feet, racing towards Odin's Vault.
The Ancient One followed closely behind.
Upon entering the Vault, they found Qin Xiao floating motionless in mid-air, his entire body transformed into flames, his eyes closed.
Thor stood beside him, dumbfounded.
Just then, a cacophony of shattering sounds echoed through the air. A dark red rune pierced through the wall, bypassing the Vault's two layers of defense to enter the inner chamber.
It hurtled straight towards Qin Xiao!
"No!" Odin roared.
"Stop!"
Golden light surged from Odin's body as he thrust out his hand, reaching for the rune.
