A cloud of smoke swirled into the air, picked up by the wind which was accompanied by blood curdling screams. This was all coming from a town not too far from the boarder of the inner area.
Soulless ones had appeared in numbers and out of no where, launching an attack on this town for no apparent reason.
The attack did not last long as the magic corporation sent out captain Osto.
Osto put his double scythe weapon which were held together by a chains on his back.
"Charlie what's the report?"
She pulled up a small digital screen that floated above her hand.
"Death count at 15, injured is 20 and 19 missing captain sir".
Osto made a (Tsk) sound.
"This really is a disaster".

A meeting of the captains were called, This meant the entire of the captains were seated while a man with greyish hair and a aged face stood at the front.
"A about a year ago now, captain Sophie made the discovery of the disaster gems as we're calling them. Ever since that time the rise in Soulless one activity has become very alarming. Captain Osto, you and your personal squad were sent to a town recently yes? What's the report?".

Captain Osto the guy sat with orange/reddish hair, as he stood up the chains around his arms clinked. His mint eyes faced General Sways direction.
"yes general Sway, there were at least 30 soulless ones attacking this town, if it weren't for me and my squad showing up, I doubt a single person would have survived".

The banging came from one of the captains, the one with soot coloured hair which was ruffed up. His hands looked the worst given that he had a finger missing, but that's not all you could tell he worked out by his abs due to the fact he wasn't wearing a top under his jacket.

"Somethings drawing them in obviously, most likely those god damn disaster stones".
General sway pulled up a digital screen.
"Based on the data that Captain Sophie and her squad have provided, it appears that whenever the dark mages have some kind of meeting, the soulless ones appear at a random town or village which leads me to think of it as some kind of distraction. Captain Sophie are there any updates on the situation".

"As we all know a year ago the dark mage's group managed to get one of the disaster gems, since then they've manage to obtain two more. This means there's one left, this group has stated that if all four were together it will be the end to mankind, research shows this may be true.
She paused for a moment pulling up a digital screen.
"based on recent initial, they know where the last one is. They plan on going there next week, so I think we should launch a full scale mission with me and another captain along with our own squads and far more corporation members will go there, getting the gem for ourselves and getting info out of a dark mage member on the whereabouts of the other three.
General Sway grabbed at his beard.
"We'll make preparations within a few days, John I'd like you to be the other Captain on this mission. As of next week, we'd secure the Disaster stones".
John gave him a salute.
"Yes sir".
General sway look to the other captains.
"Captains Lucus, Nova and Lucy I'd like you all to get this soulless one crisis under control".

A man with white hair and purple eyes began to speak.
"yes general".
He had a powerful kind of 'aura', you could tell he was the most powerful.

This shorter person, who had very dark purplish/bluish hair that was tied up into a long ponytail stood up.
"Understood general".
They said while saluting.
Captain Lucy-ranked 4-mage-most used magic=lighting.
A woman with green hair that was wild, stood up while saluting.
"That will be no issue at all sir!".
She had an energetic kind of energy to her.
General Sway turned to Captain Osto.
"As for you Captain Osto, I'd like you to start preparing our people for the mission that's to come in a weeks time".
Captain Osto nodded.
"Yes of course general".
General Sway clapped his hands together.
"that concludes todays meeting, you're all dismissed".

It had been a year since Luicien, Victoria and the others had joined the magic corporation.
Luicien had only just gotten out of bed, being that it was now 8 in the morning. He found the floor to be bitter to his feet, as to be expected for autumn.
He made the choice of extra sleep over having coffee and breakfast, since he could always grab coffee on his way regardless. His small boxed room that was layered with clothes made him stumble around.
"ha there it is".
Pulling out a black jacket which had the letter S on the right side, on the chest area which also had a one square around it. This was the standard Magic corporation's uniform jacket.
He laced it on himself and put on the rest of his clothes.
He found having his own apartment to be pleasant. Something he could afford since getting a pay check. It wasn't anything fancy, the front door came with a digital padlock and the kitchen had a automatic oven. So yea standard for this era.

This sound came from a little black cat that was sitting on his sofa, with its tongue sticking out.
"Morning Meowstr". Luicien said while pouring out some food for him.
He then went up to his floating mirror and checked himself out. The magic corporation only requires you to wear either the jacket or cloak uniform, but you can wear anything else otherwise. Luicien decided to put some basic dark trousers, with a plain white top and obviously his cross necklace.
I can't believe its already been a year, so much has happened. He thought to himself as he adjusted his hair in the mirror.

Another door in the apartment opened and a familiar rain coloured hair came from the room.
"Mika, ready on time as usual".
Said Luicien as he stopped adjusting his hair.
"The day I'm late is the day I die"
He said while fist bumping Luicien.
Luicien grabbed his sword and his work bag and the two took off on Luiciens motorcycle, which allowed them to the Magic corporation base rather quick. Luicien parked his bike up and they walked toward the gates.
This was now their life, the calm before the storm.
