Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: Wendy Joins the Fairy Tail Guild

After the initial excitement, Wendy and Carla approached Irene to thank her; if not for her, Blue Cats House would have truly been destroyed.

Watching the girl and the cat sobbing uncontrollably, Irene patted Wendy's small head and comforted her, "Alright, don't cry anymore, it's all over now."

Wendy wiped her tears, her face filled with gratitude. "Thank you!"

She turned back to look at the Happy crowd and said once more, "Thank you, everyone. With your help, our guild was saved from destruction."

Everyone smiled and replied, "You're welcome, this was our mission too!"

Jura suddenly thought of something and looked back, only to find that Siegrain had already left.

He showed a look of relief; that guy must have turned over a new leaf.

The next day.

Everyone arrived at Blue Cats House and received a warm welcome, with everyone changing into ethnic-style clothing.

Lucy posed in various ways in her beautiful new clothes, saying happily, "The Nirvit style clothes look great!"

Beside her, Sherry was also preening in front of a mirror. "That depends on who's wearing them."

She suddenly looked at Wendy and asked curiously, "By the way, when did Blue Cats House join the Guild Alliance?"

Wendy rubbed her hands together awkwardly; their guild was indeed obscure, and its members rarely ventured elsewhere... At that moment, everyone had gathered in the square, and the Patriarch led all the tribespeople forward. "Fairy Tail, Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale, as well as Wendy and Carla—thank you for defeating Oración Seis and stopping Nirvana!"

"I express my gratitude to you all!"

Everyone waved their hands dismissively, saying, "No need for thanks, it's what we should have done."

Everyone was being too polite; all this constant thanking was making them feel quite embarrassed.

Lyon looked at Jura and Sherry and smiled. "Our mission has been successfully completed."

Natsu and Happy laughed loudly. "Then we should have a banquet!"

"It wasn't easy for everyone to get together like this!"

Everyone cheered, and led by Ichiya, they performed an awkward dance on the spot.

Irene and Acnologia both blushed at the sight, their toes curling in embarrassment; it seemed young people nowadays really enjoyed being cringey.

However, the awkwardness didn't last long, as the two were pulled by Erza and Lucy to join the group dance.

After dancing for a while, everyone noticed the old man looking preoccupied and were filled with confusion; shouldn't he be Happy after winning?

The Patriarch looked at everyone and said in a low voice, "To everyone present, I wish to apologize for concealing the truth about the Nirvit people."

"Perhaps you don't care, but I must make things clear today..."

Meeting everyone's bewildered gazes, he continued, "The one who created Nirvana was me!"

Lucy asked in confusion, "But I heard Nirvana was created four hundred years ago?"

"Yes!"

The Patriarch nodded gently and slowly recounted the origin and magic of Nirvana.

At that time, the world was plagued by constant war and the people suffered; to end the world's conflicts, he created Nirvana.

However, this Super Magic of light-dark inversion was truly terrifying; it turned the world upside down, blurring the lines between good and evil. By the time he realized and stopped it, the kingdom had already been destroyed.

"I am currently just a Thought Projection. To wait for the appearance of someone who could destroy Nirvana, I have remained in the human world for four hundred years."

A relieved smile appeared on his face. "Now, my mission is complete."

Everyone stood frozen in place, and Wendy began to cry as she watched the phantoms of the Thought Projections behind the Patriarch disappear one by one. "How can this be... everyone..."

Wendy collapsed to her knees, breaking down. "Don't leave me alone!"

Irene suddenly spoke up, "If you don't want to die, I can save your life."

Lucy said urgently, "It's Enchantment Magic; it can enchant souls, so it should work for Thought Projections too."

The Patriarch was slightly stunned, then shook his head gently. "No need. I am too tired; death is the true liberation for me."

He looked at the group and bowed deeply. "I leave Wendy and Carla in your hands!"

He took one last look at Wendy with a kind gaze, then turned into light and vanished.

"Live well, you already have real companions..."

"No!!!"

Wendy reached out to touch the dissipating specks of light, her eyes filled with tears as the Blue Cats House emblem on her arm disappeared.

"Why..."

She knelt on the ground, lost and dejected, her tears flowing incessantly.

All her family was gone, leaving her all alone... The others watched in silence, looking at the broken little girl, yet not knowing how to comfort her.

Erza stepped forward, gently pulling Wendy into her embrace and whispering, "From now on, you'll have us as your companions..."

"Wendy, come to the Fairy Tail Guild!"

...Time flew by, and three days passed... Everyone had already returned to the guild. Each person who went on the mission received a handsome reward, and Lucy obtained three more celestial spirit keys.

With Wendy and Carla joining Fairy Tail, Makarov was very Happy. Now the guild had five Dragon Slayer Mages; bringing all the Dragon Slayer Mages in the world into the guild was now within reach.

Gajeel watched as the other Dragon Slayer Mages all had cats as partners and felt anxious—why didn't he have one?

As for Acnologia, he didn't have one either, but that guy didn't really count; he had never even seen him use Dragon Slaying Magic.

Lucy saw Acnologia sitting in a chair with a stack of books on the table and asked curiously, "Are you reading? Looking for something?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

Acnologia smiled; he had recently discovered that he was actually quite famous in this world's novel industry.

The novels he had plagiarized four hundred years ago were revered as classics, leading countless people to imitate them.

Lucy suddenly said, "Actually, there's a great novelist who shares your name."

She had once suspected Acnologia was that great master, but found he never touched those novels and seemed to have no interest in them.

In truth, that great master had never shown his face; all the novels and Parenting Manuals were published on his behalf by her family.

Although they earned a lot of money, her ancestors strictly forbade using it, saying that one day that great master might come to collect it.

"That is interesting indeed..." Acnologia nodded with a smile.

Lucy felt slighted and said with some dissatisfaction, "He is the idol of all writers. You have no idea what status he holds in the literary world; many people want to meet him."

"Unfortunately..."

Acnologia asked, "Unfortunately what?"

Lucy said regretfully, "The person is already gone!"

"Those novels had been stored in our family's library for hundreds of years before they were published. That great master must have returned to the earth long ago."

Acnologia: "..."

I can't just ignore this; I'm damn well alive and well.

"Speaking of which, how are those Five Dragons who loved reading novels doing?"

Acnologia frowned in thought. The Five Dragons had already arrived in the New World, and without the threat of him as an enemy, logically speaking, there was no need for them to remain inside Natsu and the others.

It seemed he needed to find an opportunity to check Natsu's body; they might be trapped.

Dong! Dong! Dong!!!

Suddenly, the sound of a bell echoed throughout Magnolia Town.

"What happened?"

"What's going on?"

The people on the streets grew nervous; such an emergency bell was rarely heard. They all hurried back to their homes, and all the street vendors packed up their stalls. Soon, the entire town was deserted.
