Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 : The Mistake

'Did she just said Magic Sword??!!' Hephaestus looked at Noah in surprise, along with everyone else.

"Noah?"

"Noah-chan forged a magic sword?"

"This magic sword does look rather peculiar."

Thanks to Tsubaki's exclamation, people almost stopped caring about the massive explosion that had occurred within the Familia, shifting their attention entirely to the magic sword.

In this world, so-called magic swords are strategic-level weapons.

Even the poorest quality magic sword costs at least 1.5 million valis—equivalent to what five Level 1 adventurers could earn by risking their lives in the Dungeon for half a year.

With that amount, you could buy 50,000 Jagamarukun priced at 30 valis each.

Or over four hundred beginner weapons—enough to equip an entire army.

And what can a magic sword at this price do?

It can unleash two shots of "Fire Lance" or "Fireball" level spells.

These are lower-tier magics with weak lethality and small attack ranges.

If used at the perfect moment, they might defeat an enemy stronger than oneself.

Beyond that, magic swords costing millions or even tens of millions of valis see a corresponding increase in power, but without exception, they are all luxurious consumables.

The thunder-attribute magic sword forged by Tsubaki is powerful enough to destroy a small town and can temporarily incapacitate even a Level 6 adventurer.

The magic swords of the Crozzo family can achieve the same, if not more.

But magic swords aren't considered equipment; they are consumables, tools that shatter after use.

Even so, having just one additional magic sword smith capable of forging them can significantly boost a Familia's profits—such is the exorbitant profit margin of magic swords.

The excitement of the crowd, however, was less about the value of the magic sword itself and more about the skill behind it.

Not everyone can forge magic swords, let alone powerful ones.

"Noah, was it really your magic sword that caused all this?"

Hephaestus was referring to the large area of destroyed buildings and ground.

The amount of materials damaged in this disaster hadn't been tallied yet, but it was certainly no small figure.

Noah braced himself and nodded.

"Though it's a bit different from ordinary magic swords, it should still be classified as one, I suppose."

Hearing his admission, the other Familia members fell silent.

Only Tsubaki hooked an arm around his neck.

"Well done, Noah-boy! You've only been in the Familia for a year, not only reaching Level 2 but also forging a magic sword! You're quite the monster, hahaha—oof!"

In the middle of her laughter, Tsubaki was kicked by Hephaestus.

"Ouch! What was that for, Lady Hephaestus?!"

"Quiet, Tsubaki. You and Noah, both of you, come with me!"

Seeing the usually gentle goddess with a fierce expression, Noah and Tsubaki exchanged a glance, swallowed their objections, and silently followed.

The news was contained swiftly.

Though the outside world heard the noise, they wouldn't learn the truth about what happened tonight.

...

After arriving at Hephaestus's workshop, the goddess dropped the act.

"Now, Noah, show us your magic sword quickly!"

It was as if she had become a different person.

The goddess's eyes were now filled with excitement!

If you were to ask who in this world loves forging the most, it wouldn't be anyone else—it would undoubtedly be this goddess master smith!

And she had already noticed it.

"That's no ordinary magic sword, is it? I can see something unusual about it. This kind of craftsmanship is unlike anything I've seen before. Did you come up with it yourself?"

Noah hadn't seen her this talkative in over a year.

And Tsubaki nearby was already growing restless.

He took out the hilt of the 'Sword' and presented it before both of them.

"As expected of you two, you noticed right away. That's right, this one is different from ordinary magic swords..."

As he spoke, Noah fiddled with the hilt a few times.

Essentially, he was just using the Spell-Weaver to adjust the incantations.

Seeing his actions, Tsubaki quickly stepped in front of Hephaestus.

Even someone as thick-skinned as her was startled.

"Hey hey! Noah! Are you planning to repeat what just happened here? Forget about me, but you'll send our goddess back to the tenkai!"

Noah took a deep breath to calm himself, then said, "Don't worry, it'll work this time."

He raised the hilt, channeling magic into the 'Sword'.

The perfectly embedded gems lit up one by one with a beautiful red glow.

A burst of flame shot from the hilt, then condensed into a concentrated beam!

The compressed, high-density flames formed a blazing red blade, leaving faint red trails in the air as Noah swung it.

Seeing the massive flames stabilize into a dazzling sword blade, both Hephaestus and Tsubaki, being blacksmiths, stood frozen in amazement.

Tsubaki even reached out unconsciously, intending to touch the dangerous sword beam.

Noah quickly moved the sword away in alarm.

At that moment, Hephaestus delivered a sharp chop to the back of Tsubaki's head.

"Idiot, don't touch it. Even you would burn your fingers off."

Tsubaki came to her senses and withdrew her hand, but her gaze remained fixed on the sword.

"So beautiful..."

Yes.

This was a sword beautiful enough to be described as such, and equally dangerous in its beauty.

"This is..." While marveling, both of them felt somewhat conflicted.

Because, what exactly was this sword?

A magical weapon, or a magic sword?

Anyone who witnessed the sea of fire earlier would assume it was a magic sword.

Yet it didn't deteriorate with use, nor was it merely a substitute for magic - it was a genuine sword!

Suddenly, Hephaestus thought of something.

She asked, "Noah, have you used Appraisal on this sword?"

Noah initially nodded, then gave a negative response.

Tsubaki asked in confusion, "Well, which is it?"

"I appraised this sword before, but it was in an incomplete state. Moreover, this sword doesn't have a name yet. Only after deciding on a name can it be considered truly complete."

"Then hurry up and do it!" Tsubaki urged impatiently.

The blacksmith has the right to name weapons.

For him to decide was normal, even if this sword was intended as a gift from Astraea's familia members to their own captain.

"In that case, let's call it..."
