Chapter 163 - Chapter 163: The Battlefield is Extremely Tragic

The addition of the three brought new changes to the situation, but so far, no one has been able to launch an effective attack against that giant monster. The attacks they have in hand are no longer effective against this ever-growing behemoth. Helplessly, they can only watch as buildings collapse one by one.

"Director Nick, those freaks of yours have no way to stop that monster. It seems it's time to release the nuclear bomb."

"Haven't you learned your lesson from last time? This is Manhattan, one of the economic lifelines of the United States. If something happens here, our economy will fall back five to ten years. Who among you can take that responsibility?"

Once again, brainless politicians proposed the nuclear bomb strategy, but this time, Nick rebutted them harshly. They hadn't learned their lesson last time, and here they were again. He didn't know which bastard had let such brainless fools into the council; it was truly nauseating—a bunch of idiots with nothing but crap in their heads.

"Then it's all in your hands, but remember, Director Nick, the responsibility this time is not small. Are you sure you want to take it all on yourself? Don't forget what happened last time; it already incurred the President's dissatisfaction."

After being rebutted harshly by Nick, the man hurriedly left those words over the line and hung up on Nick in a huff. Although talking back felt great, Nick had to admit the other party was right. During the last incident, many Hydra remnants were cleared out, but some of those guys were very close to the President. Even though it was proven they were Hydra, the President had nothing to say, but it seemed there would be plenty of trouble ahead. Fortunately, this President's term was almost over; the only pity was that the budget might be cut.

"Life isn't easy!"

Rubbing his bald head, Nick said those words as if in lament, causing Hill to look at him with a mix of amusement and helplessness. In S.H.I.E.L.D., no one's life was easy, but this boss was the only one with no right to say so. Buying food and drinks with public funds was one thing, but he even took household items from the public stash—this man was stingy to the extreme.

"How are the two gentlemen from Akatsuki doing?"

Putting aside the personal issues, Nick focused on the problem at hand. After paying such a high price, he couldn't just let those two sit idle! He had to make them show some real strength to ensure Manhattan could overcome this crisis. Regardless of what happened to him in the end, this crisis had to be weathered.

"As for that, see for yourself, Director."

Switching to the camera feed on Itachi and Kisame, Hill watched helplessly as Itachi and Kisame each held a cup of milk tea. While drinking, they threw Kunai without even looking. These Kunai seemed to have eyes, hitting one target each without missing a single time. This was quite frustrating; you couldn't say they were slacking off because they were indeed clearing out monsters at a very fast pace, but you couldn't say they were being serious either. No one who fights while drinking milk tea can be said to be 'battling'; instead, it felt like they were strolling through a zoo and mean-spiritedly throwing pebbles at the 'animals'.

"Did I bet on the wrong horse?"

Seeing this scene, Nick's mood was complex. He suddenly felt that spending so much Vibranium wasn't worth it, but their strength was undeniable. If possible, he'd recruit them directly into the Avengers; then maybe he wouldn't have to pay that exorbitant employment fee? The thought crossed his mind, but with one looking like a Mutant shark and the other having a typical Asian face, their inclusion in the Avengers would probably be rejected by the higher-ups. This was quite a dilemma.

"Mr. Itachi, why do I feel like I'm drinking the wrong thing? It tastes so different from before."

After cleaning the 'pearls' inside and casually tossing the trash into a monster's mouth before sending a Kunai in after it, she chewed the 'pearls' and spoke to Itachi. She felt like she had bought fake pearl milk tea; it was so bitter. Was there too much coffee?

"Maybe because it's been a long time since you last drank it? But this mango-flavored one is pretty good. Isn't the one you're drinking coffee-flavored? Forget it, now is not the time to worry about that."

Doing the same as Kisame, the poor monsters were treated directly as trash cans. They had been slacking off for so long, yet the group still hadn't found a solution. They couldn't continue wasting time here.

"Kisame, let's start."

"Alright."

Hearing Itachi's words, Kisame split open his large mouth full of sharp teeth. This time, he didn't use a Kunai. Kisame stepped forward, clenched his right fist tightly, slightly arched his upper body, and spread his feet into a bow stance, like a sharp arrow being drawn on a string.

"Bajiquan: Iron Mountain Lean."

A massive force erupted from Kisame's body, instantly sending the two lead monsters flying and crashing into those behind them. This wasn't the end; the residual force pushed the group of monsters back over ten meters. The lead and following monsters were all flattened by this powerful force, with some even snapped in two. This was the result of awakening Dragon Blood combined with a proper understanding and application of the Super Strength Punch, using that moment of intense explosive power to strike with this move. The effect was remarkable.

"You're playing a bit too excessively, Kisame."

"Shuriken Shadow Clone."

While saying Kisame went a bit too far, Itachi used Shuriken Shadow Clone with steel wires, instantly shredding the small monsters twenty meters ahead. The speed was so fast that the small monsters didn't even have a chance to react before their body parts began to separate, scattering across the ground. Such a bloody scene caused several technical Special Agents on the Helicarrier to vomit instantly.

"Director, Director, Director..."

"I know, I can see it."

"I mean, you've been vomited on."

"..."

Taking the tissue Hill handed over with a blank expression, Nick glanced at the young man who had just vomited all over him. Hmm! A very fine young man. It seemed the uncle who cleans the toilets at S.H.I.E.L.D. could retire now. Silently wiping the stains off his clothes and the bit on his head, Nick was astonished by the strength the 'two' had just displayed.

"Mr. Itachi, can we not be so bloody? Killing is fine, but why make it so disgusting? I just finished my milk tea!"

Silently covering her nose, Kisame spoke to Itachi. Well, actually, since these skills were drawn, they hadn't been used much, and Itachi didn't know they would cause such a result. Overall, it was quite good. Sasuke had used this move against Orochimaru and added fire, but it didn't have a special effect. As expected, not everything was as powerful as Orochimaru.

"Pay attention to collecting the saint quartz fragments. I'm about to start."

After instructing Kisame, Itachi jumped onto the wall and continued to approach the giant monster, leaving behind Kisame, whose face was turning green from the foul smell. She decided that if this clone didn't dissipate this time, she would transform into Uchiha Itachi next time to have some fun.
