Chapter 7 - 1000 Zombies

The clock struck 8 p.m, yet a quiet and eerie atmosphere seemed to envelop the entire city.

This was a stark contrast to the usual city atmosphere, where 8 p.m. is the start of nightlife.

Now, the streets throughout the city were silent, and a tragic atmosphere enveloped the city, like an abandoned ghost town. There were no children's voices or the sound of passing vehicles.

Everyone seemed to be holding their breath and trying to hide in the darkest places, where darkness was one of the most desirable places for those who remained.

This was due to a massive zombie outbreak that had suddenly spread throughout the city. A bright morning transformed into a bloody tragedy, with countless relatives and acquaintances suddenly transformed into flesh-eating monsters.

Panic spread throughout the city, and it seemed no one was prepared for the situation. By the time city authorities realized what had happened, it was too late to take action.

The zombie virus had spread throughout the city, infecting almost every resident.

Seeing this unfavorable situation, the city authorities naturally reported it to higher authorities, but the response was even more surprising.

It was discovered that the situation was not unique to their city, but rather a similar situation across Japan.

And even vague explanations from higher authorities suggested that similar events were occurring worldwide, and that this appeared to be an unstoppable global disaster.

Under these circumstances, the city authorities could only make limited efforts to save those who could still survive.

Thus, the tragedy on the bridge connecting the city center occurred, where authorities tried to block residents from seeking shelter, preventing those infected from entering the safe area.

And for those fortunate enough to hide in safe places, that night was a moment they would never forget.

This was the first night that changed their entire lives.

However, there were some individuals who were naturally happy about the situation, and one of them was Akira.

After emerging from his hiding place in the bakery, Akira used his infrared camera to check for any humans hiding in the area around him.

After investigating the immediate area, he found no survivors.

Without hesitation, Akira began harvesting the zombies, considered enemies of this world, into his space.

"Ahhh...this is so easy," Akira casually walked toward them as he faced the horde of zombies approaching him.

Every zombie within 20 meters of his position suddenly disappeared and was placed into his space by Akira.

The sound of the system calculating could be heard, and hearing the constant sounds of numbers echo in his mind made Akira's face brighten.

[Ding…Host received 7 special creatures…ding…10 special creatures detected…Ding…20…15…6…23…13…12…4…7….]

The notification sound of numbers kept ringing in Akira's mind, yet Akira somehow found the sound so beautiful and pleasant.

"I just realized that hearing the sound of counting is really enjoyable," Akira continued to casually enter all the zombies that approached him.

Perhaps because the zombies had detected the anomaly in Akira's presence, he, like a magnetic field, immediately attracted the attention of the surrounding zombies.

So, without much effort, Akira entered many of the zombies that approached him.

Even so, Akira remained vigilant as he continuously scanned the entire area around him with an infrared camera to check for any human presence nearby.

Finally, after he had entered hundreds of zombies into his space, he successfully cleared the street.

Akira seemed quite pleased, "I've cleared this entire street of zombies; this can be considered a good deed.

And for those lucky and brave enough, tomorrow will be a good day if they come here." Akira expressed happiness, imagining having done a significant good deed.

After all, he needed to collect points, which would be worth 20% of what would change this world.

So, don't just focus on… He's focused on the protagonists of this world, who may have contributed to other achievements, who can prove that they, mere mortals not involved in the plot, have no role.

So it's better to be open-minded and broad-minded. Who knows, maybe with his help, he'll indirectly help the protagonists in this world.

"Let's move further afield. I can't just stick to one area, because I have to be more vigilant," Akira decided to move a few blocks away from where he was.

Akira did this to avoid any unwanted incidents. After all, disappearing so many zombies at once would certainly attract the attention of those with greater interests.

So Akira employed a dispersal strategy, which he considered to have a lower risk of being discovered.

"Yes, this is a fairly densely populated area, so let's start here." The new area Akira was in was a densely populated area with several elementary schools nearby.

And of course, before carrying out his actions, Akira first surveyed the surrounding area and, after ensuring that there were no living or hiding humans in the area, began his activities.

Only then did he resume his actions, gathering the zombies into the room.

Akira's actions lasted for several hours, lasting until 4:00 a.m.

After feeling sleepy and tired, Akira chose to rest in a house that was considered empty and uninhabited.

What Akira didn't realize was that the house where he was resting and hiding was located close to the area where the protagonists were resting.

"Ugh, I'm tired... I didn't expect staying up almost all night to be so unpleasant, but looking at the numbers in the room made me feel very happy."

[Detected….1453 special creatures in the room]

After many careful actions, Akira had harvested over 1400 zombies into his room. At this rate, he would surely be able to collect 10,000 zombies in a few days to level up.

And with the level up, there would surely be an extraordinary surprise reward waiting for him.

"Okay, time to rest," Akira, tired and satisfied, went into his room and locked it, setting up a secure barrier to protect him from any zombies or humans who might enter the house.

Fifty meters away from Akira, a long black barrel with a telescope appeared on a balcony on the top floor of a house.
