"Yes, that's most likely the case, because it's impossible for the homeowner to enter through the back door with dirty shoes," Takashi replied to them.
"Then what should we do, senpai?" Rei asked Saeko.
"Let's report this to Saya, let her think about it," Saeko replied, and then contacted me via intercom.
"Saya, there's a special situation here," Saeko's voice was heard informing me about the situation at the location where the three of them were.
"What's wrong, senpai? Did you find anything special?" Saya asked curiously after hearing Saeko's explanation.
"Yes, we found that the house we're currently inspecting has most likely been infiltrated by someone inside.
This is based on Takashi's findings, who saw dirt shoe prints entering from the back of the house," Saeko replied, explaining in more detail what they had found.
Hearing this, Saya pondered for a moment, but then said nothing more.
"Do you know how many intruders there were? And do you know where they are now?" I asked Saeko two questions.
"Judging from Takashi's statement, there was only one intruder, although there could be more.
As for where he is, it's most likely on the second floor, as the first floor looks clean and there are no traces of activity," Saeko replied again.
"Then, Senpai, do you want to continue checking the situation inside the house or will you move to another location? I leave the decision up to you." Saya ultimately felt he couldn't make a decision, so I asked Saeko and the others to make the decision.
"Very well then," Saeko replied calmly and then informed the others of Saya's decision.
"Saya eave the decision regarding further action to us, and I'm free to choose what we will do." Saeko ask.
"Are we leaving this house?" Takashi asked with a slightly reluctant tone. He felt he had to at least find the person who broke into the house and ask what really happened last night.
Because it's highly likely that someone inside this house knows this, and as for where Takashi came up with this idea, it's because his instincts told him so.
(If Akira knew this, he would applaud and praise his instincts as the protagonist of this world, because it's true, as Takashi's instincts suggest, that the zombies' disappearances are related to Akira.)
"Senpai, I also think we should investigate the situation in this house further. If possible, if we find someone hiding inside, we can ask them further.
Because I feel like if we encounter the same thing elsewhere, we might not be able to speak with the survivors properly, so it's better to try somewhere close to where we are. Especially if the person hiding is dangerous, wouldn't it be better to act quickly?" Rei replied, agreeing with Takashi.
"That's right, Senpai. With the strength of the three of us, distracting a group of people isn't difficult, so if we were facing just one person, it would be much easier, wouldn't it?" Takashi, on the other hand, also encouraged Saeko to agree with their second proposal.
"Are you sure?" Saeko asked with a deep expression.
She couldn't say she wouldn't refuse the two's suggestion. After all, she had a violent personality.
So, for some reason, she was actually looking forward to the uncontrollable situation when they were confronted with the intruder.
However, she also realized that there would definitely be risks involved, and that their safety could be seriously threatened.
Added to the possibility that the intruder had a firearm, the three of them's chances of subduing the intruder would be significantly jeopardized.
In this regard, Saeko naturally asked the two of them again.
"I'm sure, Senpai," Takashi replied quickly.
"Yes, don't worry, Senpai," Rei agreed.
"Even if the enemy might have a firearm, will you still act?" Saeko replied again, her tone even colder.
Hearing this, the two of them fell silent for a moment, contemplating the possibility Saeko had told them.
If this were the normal world and society were still as it was before, the spread of firearms would of course be very well controlled and the likelihood of a It's something that ordinary individuals in Japan can own.
But this time the situation was different: the entire city had descended into chaos, with looting and violence rampant.
They heard gunshots ringing out in various corners of the city, yet they stared at the weapons they were wielding.
A greater sense of confidence flooded both of them.
"Don't worry, senpai. If the enemy acts recklessly, it won't be enough for us to return fire," Takashi replied casually, pointing to the pistol at his waist, while Hirano continued to observe them with his sniper rifle.
The three of them were still using their main weapons, including sharp weapons, to reduce the noise that might be generated by the gunshots.
However, if the situation truly spiraled out of control and they were in a desperate situation, firearms would undoubtedly play a vital life-saving role.
"Okay then, let's check it out," Saeko finally agreed to their proposal.
So the three of them began to try to enter the house, safely and discreetly.
Luckily, the inner courtyard contained a large glass window. When Rei checked, one of the windows was unlocked.
This was likely because the homeowner had forgotten to lock it, which ultimately presented a good opportunity for them.
After informing the others that they had found a way in, Rei, Saeko, and Takashi entered the house.
They carefully made signs and began checking every corner of the first floor.
Finally, finding no one, they decided to go up to the second floor.
Saeko, meanwhile, asked Saya to have Hirano keep watch from outside the second floor.
"Let me go up first, followed by Takashi and then Rei. Remember, don't make too much noise, because we don't know how many people are up there or what weapons they might have for protection," Saeko reminded the two of them, making arrangements.
In a room on the second floor, Akira, sound asleep, seemed to awaken slightly when his instincts sensed something approaching him.
With his physical abilities three times that of a human, coupled with his spatial magic, Akira was essentially able to detect approaching danger.
To a certain extent, and even though he was currently fast asleep, I also realized that without anyone to rely on, he couldn't completely relax.
Don't forget, he was only hiding in a normal house, in a room on the second floor, which didn't have any advanced protection against human intruders.
So, it was natural for Akira to remain vigilant during his rest.
And after sensing a threat, Akira, sound asleep, opened his eyes and, without further thought, began scanning the room around him.
And how shocked he was to realize that there were three intruders approaching the room where he was resting. Moreover, the three intruders turned out to be the protagonists of this world. Realizing this, Akira had a meaningful smile on his face.
