Chapter 124 - Chapter 124 : Angel in Trench Coat

"Hmmm, the shop items this time are really something else," Henry muttered while staring at the system screen.

Since he had bought three items from the shop, the inventory had refreshed.

This time the shop contained ten items instead of six, and according to the system, the next refresh would only occur after purchasing five of the current ten.

Henry looked at the list for a long moment before checking his remaining points.

[ 30 SP. ]

His eye twitched. The cheapest item in the entire shop cost five times what he currently possessed. The Void Blade alone required a thousand points. At his current rate, he would probably grow old before he could afford it.

"This shop is extremely dangerous," Henry muttered.

"Not because of the items. Because it keeps showing me things I can't buy."

With a thought he closed the shop window. The system screen vanished. A second later he disappeared from the crossroads and reappeared inside Bobby's salvage yard.

The moment he arrived he frowned. There was a lingering presence in the air. Faint. Almost gone. But definitely there.

"Hmmm... an angel presence?"

Henry looked around the yard. Whoever it was had already left. That wasn't surprising.

Angels couldn't properly interact with the physical world in their true forms — their voices alone could rupture human eardrums, and their true forms were even worse.

That's why they required vessels. Unlike demons, who would happily force themselves into almost anyone, angels needed permission before occupying a human vessel.

Henry shook his head and started walking toward the house. Several pieces of broken glass were scattered near the entrance. That immediately caught his attention.

When he pushed open the door he found Dean, Sam, and Bobby inside, all three rubbing their ears.

"Fuck, that almost blew my ears out," Dean complained, grabbing a bottle of water from the kitchen counter.

"Quit whining," Bobby replied. "Whatever that was, my ears are still ringin'."

Sam looked over at Henry. "Where'd you go?"

"Walk."

Dean pointed toward the shattered glass. "Forget that. Do you know what the hell just happened?"

Henry looked around the room before raising an eyebrow. "No. Do I look like an all-knowing person?" He pointed toward the door.

"I just got back. Didn't you hear me? I went for a walk. How the heck am I supposed to know what happened here?"

Sam nodded. That was actually a fair point. Henry had only arrived a few seconds ago.

Dean looked unconvinced. "Because every time weird crap happens, you somehow know something about it."

"That's called experience."

"That's called being suspicious."

Henry grabbed a chair and sat down. "Then stay suspicious."

Bobby rubbed his ear again before looking around at the broken glass. "Well, whatever it was, it seems to have left."

Nobody argued with that.

Bobby looked at Dean, Sam, and Henry. "And you boys, when are you leaving my damn house? It's been days since you showed up. Now he's awake, you can hit the road again."

Dean looked up from his chair. "Come on, don't be grumpy. Isn't it better to have us around?"

"No."

"See, that's just hurtful."

"It was meant to be."

Sam shook his head. "Dean, you're not winning this argument."

Henry took a drink from his beer. "Honestly, I think Bobby has a point."

"You too?"

"Your track record isn't exactly helping your case."

Bobby nodded. "Finally, somebody talking sense."

Dean rolled his eyes. "Fine. Next time we'll stay at a motel."

"Good."

"And eat unhealthy food."

"Good."

"And get chased by monsters."

"Good."

"You're supposed to stop me somewhere in that list."

"Why would I do that? You are grown men. As far as I'm concerned, if you get chased by monsters, that's your problem. At least those are monsters we can kill," Bobby said, taking a drink from his beer.

Dean was about to reply when a man suddenly appeared in the middle of the room. There was no warning. One moment the space beside the table was empty. The next moment a man wearing a tan trench coat was standing there.

The conversation died instantly. Dean shot out of his chair. Sam was already reaching for the knife hidden beneath his jacket. Bobby grabbed the shotgun leaning against the wall.

Henry froze for a fraction of a second.

Fuck. Castiel.

The newcomer ignored the weapons pointed in his direction and looked directly at Dean.

"Hello, Dean."
