Cherreads

Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: The principal was sweating profusely when he asked the head of the Investigation Division to help write a leave application.

The principal cleared his throat, a wide smile on his face: "Mr. Lin Xiu, in view of your special contributions to the school and society, the school board has decided to award you the title of Special Honorary Student of Tokyo Den High School."

Allen looked at the mountain of gifts piled in front of him, his mouth twitching slightly: "This..."

"And this," the principal said, pulling a gold-embossed card from his suit pocket.

"This is a gold card for the Chinese restaurant near the school, with a 30% discount."

The students in the classroom gasped in a chorus of surprise at the bizarre scene.

Baki leaned against the window, his shoulders shaking as he tried to suppress his laughter.

Just then, Fujita stepped forward, his expression solemn, and bowed to Allen.

"Allen, thank you for your contributions to the school. Although you have excelled in... special fields, your academic performance still needs to keep up..."

"Mr. Fujita!" the principal interrupted Fujita's lecture, clearly displeased.

"This is an awards ceremony!"

"Ding-a-ling! Ding-a-ling!" Allen's phone suddenly rang in his pocket.

Allen took out his phone; the screen showed a call from Kaiou Retsu.

"Hello?"

"Allen, Kato Kiyosumi was severely injured by Dorian and is currently undergoing emergency treatment in the hospital," Kaiou Retsu's voice came through the phone, tinged with suppressed anger.

Allen frowned slightly. He knew a little about Kato Kiyosumi; he was the master of Katsumi Orochi.

"How is he?"

"His life was saved, but he suffered multiple fractures all over his body, and his right wrist has a comminuted fracture. The doctor said he might never fully recover," Kaiou Retsu paused before continuing.

"Dorian is provoking us. If you have time now, please come to Shinshinkai."

"Okay, I'll be right there." After hanging up, Allen put his phone back in his pocket.

The teachers and students in the classroom noticed the change in atmosphere and unconsciously quieted down.

Everyone stared at Allen. The principal awkwardly coughed twice: "Well... if Mr. Lin Xiu has an urgent matter..."

"Sorry, I have to go. Principal, you can coordinate with him." Allen handed the business card Kondo had given him from his pocket to the principal.

"He should have time to help me fill out a leave request at school and pick up the gifts. I'm leaving now." Allen picked up his backpack and strode out of the classroom under the complex gazes of everyone.

The principal took the business card and looked at it: Tokyo Police Department, Investigation Section, Chief of Investigation Division One: Yamamoto Kondo.

"This... this..." The principal's hand trembled slightly. The gold-embossed lettering on the business card shimmered in the sunlight.

His forehead instantly broke out in fine beads of sweat. He swallowed, then carefully looked towards the classroom door, only to find that Allen had already disappeared.

Mr. Fujita leaned over for a look and immediately widened his eyes: "Chief of Investigation Division One?"

He hadn't expected Allen to be able to directly contact high-ranking officials of the Tokyo Police Department.

Asking someone even higher-ranking than the principal to write a leave request? That's interesting.

The principal's trembling fingers dialed the number on the business card. Kondo's deep voice came from the other end: "Hello?"

"Ch-Chief Kondo, hello, I am the principal of Tokyo Den High School." The principal's voice involuntarily became more respectful.

"Ah, Mr. Principal," Kondo's voice suddenly became enthusiastic.

"Mr. Lin Xiu has already told you about it, hasn't he?"

"Yes... yes..." The principal wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

"Mr. Lin Xiu said he needs you to help him with the leave procedures... and the gifts."

The voice on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment. Clearly, Kondo was a bit surprised that he also had the role of a special consultant parent.

"I'll be there shortly, please wait about twenty minutes." Kondo's voice was full of vigor.

Kondo was incredibly excited now. In his eyes, Allen taking leave = a death row inmate caught, and he was Allen's contact person, so Allen taking leave = he made a great contribution!

After hanging up, the principal, the homeroom teacher, and Fujita exchanged glances. The classroom was silent, all the students' eyes wide.

"Principal... this... is it really appropriate for the Chief of Investigation Division One to personally come and write a leave request for Mr. Lin Xiu...?" The homeroom teacher swallowed.

The principal took a deep breath, then suddenly turned and said seriously to the entire class: "No one is allowed to imitate Allen asking the Chief to help with a leave request! You must study hard, do you all understand?"

"Yes!" the students replied in unison, thinking, 'We don't have the ability to get such a big shot to write a leave request for us either.' However, the shock in their eyes regarding this matter, and their admiration and envy for Allen, could not be concealed.

Fifteen minutes later, a black official car roared into the campus. Kondo, accompanied by two police officers, walked quickly towards the teaching building, attracting countless glances from teachers and students along the way.

"That's a Tokyo Police Department car!"

"Look, isn't that the person who often appears at crime scenes on TV?"

"What are they doing at our school?"

Kondo rushed up the stairs, taking two steps at a time, and went directly to the principal's office under everyone's watchful eyes.

He looked around, his gaze falling on the principal.

"Mr. Principal, I'm here to handle the leave procedures for Mr. Lin Xiu." Kondo's voice was loud and clear.

"What forms need to be filled out?"

The principal fumbled to take out the already prepared leave form. Kondo signed his name without any hesitation, then took out a document stamped with the Tokyo Police Department's official seal from his briefcase.

"This is a special requisition order from the Tokyo Police Department. Allen needs to assist us in handling important cases during this period." Kondo handed the document to the principal.

"We ask for the full cooperation of the school."

The principal took the document, his hand trembling even more. He hadn't expected Tokyo Den High School to produce such an impressive student.

"Of... of course we'll cooperate..." The principal quickly nodded.

"If needed, we will arrange for teachers to provide individual tutoring for all of Allen's courses."

Kondo nodded in satisfaction, then turned to the entire class: "Students, Mr. Lin Xiu is on a special mission, so please keep it strictly confidential."

"If anyone is found to be following or harassing Mr. Lin Xiu, please call my private number immediately."

With that, he took out a stack of business cards from his briefcase and distributed them to the students in the class.

The students who received the business cards treasured them, carefully putting them into the innermost layer of their schoolbags.

"Well then, I'll have my people take Mr. Lin Xiu's gifts now." Kondo looked at the mountain of gifts piled on the desk. The two police officers behind him and Kondo immediately began to move the gifts.

The principal watched Kondo personally load the gifts into the car, cold sweat never stopping on his forehead.

He quietly pulled the homeroom teacher aside and whispered, "From now on, Allen's attendance will be handled as a special case."

The homeroom teacher nodded repeatedly, thinking, 'How could I possibly record Allen's absences now?'

Mr. Fujita stood by the window, watching Kondo and the police officers busy downstairs. He suddenly smiled. He had originally worried that Allen wouldn't find a good job, but now it seemed this child had already gone far ahead of everyone else. He had been worrying for nothing.

However... academic subjects still needed to be tutored. This would be very important for Allen's future development. He would not change his mind just because Allen had soared to success.

"Mr. Fujita..." After Kondo and the others left, the principal walked over and patted him on the shoulder.

"Regarding Allen's academic subjects..."

"I understand." Fujita took a deep breath.

"If needed, I will create a separate teaching plan for him."

In the classroom, the students had already erupted into a buzz of conversation.

"Hey, hey! Did you see that?! The Chief of Investigation Division One personally came to ask for leave for Allen!"

"If I wasn't still suffering at school, I'd think this was a dream. It's just too exaggerated."

"I heard that Allen was actually personally invited by the Japanese government, because the five death row inmates who came to Tokyo this time are really too dangerous, and only the ultimate weapon from China can deal with them."

"I didn't believe it before, but now I do. It seems we really are taking classes with the ultimate weapon from China."
