Chapter 32: The Titan Altera
[You proposed the expedition to Rome, and no one opposed your proposal.]
[After all, Britain and Rome had old grievances, and coupled with Britain's unprecedented strength, no one believed Britain could lose to Rome now. Some even thought it was the perfect opportunity for revenge against Rome.]
[You selected a portion of the army to remain as a garrison force and set out with the assembled expeditionary army.]
[Britain had truly developed to a remarkably prosperous state. When Britain first declared war on Rome, Rome was fully occupied dealing with the White Death and paid little attention.]
[However, after the expeditionary force captured several cities in succession, Rome had no choice but to take Britain's expedition seriously.]
[They believed it was impossible to resolve the White Death threat in a short time.]
[Although they had some ideas and plans for dealing with the White Death, none could be accomplished quickly.]
[But eliminating Britain's expeditionary force in a short time should be feasible. So, under the leadership of Rome's current emperor, Sword Emperor Lucius, Rome's main forces turned to confront you head-on, aiming to decide the outcome swiftly.]
[Rome lost.]
[Rome's mystery had long since faded away. Its once-powerful armies were no more, and they stood no chance against the Enforcement Knights.]
[Rome's mages soon realized that Britain's mystery had never diminished, which they deeply lamented, but there was no time left for regrets.]
[Sword Emperor Lucius was indeed powerful—even Lancelot and King Pellinore were no match for him. Yet, without you needing to intervene, Artoria wielding the Holy Sword defeated him.]
[You captured Rome's emperor, Lucius.]
[Then, you immediately set out to stop the White Death, transformed from the Great King of the Huns, from further destroying civilizations.]
[After all, the true form of the Great King of the Huns, Altera, was the White Death God that had once brought great calamity to the Paleolithic era and the dawn of the Age of Gods. Even a clone was not to be underestimated, let alone allowed to grow unchecked.]
[So, after defeating Rome, you took some time to stabilize and prepare before directly confronting the White Death God.]
[Your forces were far stronger than Rome's.]
[Yet, you still failed.]
[Because you discovered that this White Death God was not an avatar of the already sealed Vanguard of the Umbral Star, but its true body.]
[It was only during the battle that Magi Mari realized this.]
[Its existence seemed to herald the end of civilization.]
[Just as in the history you knew, where barbarians plunged into the heart of Europe and brought about its downfall.]
[Before your defeat, you heard the colossal being speak:]
["It is over. The mission will soon be completed."]
[You died.]
...
The simulation ended. Noah first selected the label from this run—the one with immensely strong Conqueror's Haki and Observation Haki, along with a physique that improved exceptionally easily. In the world of One Piece, such traits would likely make one a candidate for admiral or even one of the Four Emperors.
After all, it was an epic-tier label, so Noah wasn't surprised by its strength.
Then he slowly closed his eyes, organizing everything that had happened in this simulation in his mind.
This simulation was likely the longest he had experienced so far.
From defeating Vortigern to encountering Mary, the expedition to Rome, and then being destroyed by the Giant God.
Defeating Vortigern was nothing noteworthy, as it was the cumulative result of numerous previous simulations.
The expedition to Rome was also unremarkable—being able to defeat Vortigern meant overcoming the current Rome was effortless.
Rome had weakened to such an extent.
As for Mary...
Noah couldn't say for sure.
Many aspects here required piecing together clues bit by bit, and there wasn't much to discuss yet.
But that Giant God...
It was absurd!
Although Noah had always maintained sufficient vigilance against Altera, he had initially assumed she was an avatar!
While the Giant God's avatar could also grow in size, there was a limit to its expansion. Though challenging to deal with, it was nowhere near as difficult as the current situation!
Moreover, the fact that the Giant God's true form had revived and begun to move... actually indicated another issue.
It meant the Umbral Star was approaching Earth.
Only because of this would the Giant God's true form awaken, and it was even possible that the Umbral Star had taken action to release it.
Compared to her, Vortigern was not even in the same league.
After all, the Giant God's true form was something that could cause immense trouble even during the dawn of the Age of Gods.
And since he had lost in the simulation, it meant the Holy Lance could not defeat her.
Hmm...
At this thought, Noah sorted through his ideas.
It wasn't entirely without clues on how to deal with the Giant God.
The simulation suggested that Rome had seemingly found a method, but it required time. The simulated version of himself probably didn't know, and Rome hadn't informed him. So, if the next simulation reached this point, this aspect could be explored.
Additionally...
There was Manaka Sajyou.
Not to mention that if Manaka Sajyou, the Root Princess, was willing to help, her combat prowess alone was utterly absurd.
More crucially, she wielded the Holy Sword of the Stars, which could be fully unleashed as long as it was used against enemies of the planet.
The Umbral Star's vanguard—shouldn't that count as an enemy of the planet?
If he could obtain this Anti-Star Holy Sword, then the Giant God might not be undefeatable.
Thinking that these victory conditions still existed, Noah calmed his emotions.
This matter couldn't be rushed.
Nor was it the best time to decide everything.
What the simulation deduced was the future, so he clearly still had enough time to understand and change everything.
As long as there was still an opportunity, he would surely seize it.
Just as he had overcome Vortigern.
Therefore.
It was time to start the next simulation.
To check the tags for the remaining two simulations today and learn more about Mary, Rome, the Giant God, and Manaka Sajyou.
As for Vortigern, he would search through the remaining conditions he hadn't yet obtained to see if there was any more benefit to be gained. If there was, he would take it; if not... then it was time for his real self to start taking action!
