Chapter 145 - Chapter 144

[Jay's POV]

The grand clock in the foyer struck midnight, the deep chime signaling the end of the most chaotic "Welcome Home" party in Watson history. The game room was a mess of empty pizza boxes, discarded controllers, and enough laughter to last a lifetime. But now, it was time for the Squad to return to their own lives, leaving the mansion to its new master and mistress.

Keifer stood behind me, his arms looped loosely around my waist, his chin resting on the crown of my head. He looked like a man who had survived a battlefield, but the soft look in his eyes told me he wouldn't trade this "noise" for anything.

The Departure Lineup

The heavy oak doors were open to the cool night air, and one by one, our friends began their slow, teasing exit.

Calix was the first to the door, swinging his car keys. He paused, looking back at us with a wink. "Alright, Watson. We're leaving so you can get back to your... 'private protocols.' Try not to break the Wi-Fi tonight with all that data exchange."

Mica and Freya practically tackled me in one last group hug. "We're going, but the group chat is always open, Jay! We need a full review of those Italian leather bags tomorrow!" Mica squealed.

David and Ci N gave Keifer a respectful nod. "The security perimeter is set, Boss," David said, a rare smirk playing on his lips. "But I don't think any intruder is as dangerous as your wife when she's winning at Mario Kart."

Ella and Rakki waved from the driveway. "Happy 'Integration' anniversary, guys! Don't do anything we wouldn't do—which leaves you a lot of options!"

The Kuya Parting Shot

Kuya Angelo was the last of the friends to leave. He stopped at the threshold, looking Keifer dead in the eye. He didn't say the usual threats. Instead, he reached out and gave Keifer a firm, brotherly clap on the shoulder.

"You did good, Watson," Angelo muttered. "She's glowing brighter than the day you met. Keep it that way." He turned to me, kissing my forehead. "Night, lil sis. Call me if he starts acting like a robot again."

The Final Silence

As the last taillights disappeared down the long, winding driveway, the mansion fell into a sudden, heavy silence. The only sounds left were the crickets in the garden and the steady, synchronized breathing of the man holding me.

Mamma and Pappa had already retired to their wing, and Keigan had dragged a very sleepy, very confused Keiran off to bed.

Keifer let out a long, weary sigh, burying his face in the crook of my neck. "Analysis, Wiefy?"

"The variables have left the building, Hubby," I whispered, turning in his arms to face him. "The system is officially private again."

"Finally," Keifer groaned, his hands sliding down to my lower back, pulling me so close there wasn't a molecular gap between us. "I love them, Jay. But if Calix made one more joke about 'charging stations,' I was going to revoke his security clearance."

The Walk to the Stairs

He didn't wait for me to walk. He swept me up into his arms, his eyes dark with the same fire I'd seen in Ravello.

"Where are we going, CEO?" I teased, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"To the only place that matters," he murmured, starting the long climb up the grand staircase toward the Blue Suite. "The guests are gone, the family is asleep, and the only 'protocol' left on the schedule is us. 100%."

The "Glow" pulsed one last time, warm and golden, as he kicked the bedroom door shut, locking the world away for good.
