[Keifer's POV]
One year.
365 days since I stood at the altar and promised a woman my life, and 358 days since I almost lost the memory of that promise in a wreckage of twisted metal. As I stood on the balcony of our private estate in the Maldives—the same place where we spent our honeymoon—I felt the weight of that year in the gold band on my finger.
The amnesia was a ghost now, a "Deleted File" that occasionally flickered in the back of my mind, but it only served to make the present 1,000% sharper.
I looked at my watch. 19:00 hours. The "Anniversary Protocol" was in full effect. No phones. No Keigan calling about mergers. No Keiran asking to borrow the Ferrari. And definitely no Bridget lurking in the shadows with her tactical gear—I'd given the entire security detail the night off, trusting the island's automated perimeter.
I heard the glass sliding door creak open behind me. The scent hit me first—that intoxicating blend of jasmine and "Jay" that always triggered a total system reset in my brain.
I turned, and my breath didn't just hitch—it stopped.
[Jay's POV]
I stepped onto the balcony wearing a gown made of midnight-blue silk, the exact color of Keifer's eyes when he looks at me in the dark. It was backless, draped low, held together by nothing but thin diamond chains.
Keifer was standing there in a white linen shirt, unbuttoned at the collar, looking every bit the King I had fought to bring back to life. The moonlight caught the sharp angles of his jaw and the fierce, possessive glow in his eyes.
"Happy Anniversary, Hubby," I whispered, walking toward him.
He didn't wait for me to reach him. He crossed the distance in two strides, his hands finding my waist and pulling me flush against him. The heat from his skin was a 100% match for the fire in my own.
"One year, Weify," he rasped, his forehead resting against mine. "The most chaotic, beautiful, data-heavy year of my life. I died once this year, and you were the only 'Backup' that mattered."
"You didn't die, Keif," I murmured, my hands sliding up to cup his face. "You just went offline for a second. I told you I'd wait for the reboot."
The 1,000% Devotion
[Keifer's POV]
I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small, velvet box. I didn't say a word as I opened it. Inside wasn't just a diamond; it was a custom-engineered pendant. A blue diamond surrounded by a halo of white stones—the "Glow" captured in physical form.
"This is the 'Anniversary Patch'," I joked softly, though my voice was thick with emotion. "To commemorate the year the Watsons proved they were unbreakable."
I fastened it around her neck, my fingers lingering on her skin. I leaned down, my lips grazing her ear. "I love you, Jay. Not just because you're my wife. But because when I forgot who I was, my heart still knew you were the only thing worth remembering."
[Jay's POV]
I felt the cool weight of the diamond against my chest, but the real warmth was coming from the man holding me. I looked up at him, my heart full to the point of aching.
"I have a gift for you, too," I whispered.
I took his hand and placed it over my stomach. For a second, he just looked at me, his brow furrowing in confusion. Then, I saw the exact moment the "Data" processed. His pupils dilated. His hand trembled under mine.
"Jay?" he breathed, his voice cracking. "Is the... is the 'Powerhouse' growing?"
I nodded, tears of pure joy shimmering in my eyes. "The next generation of Watsons is 100% confirmed. Happy Anniversary, Daddy."
The Celebration: [Author's POV]
Keifer didn't roar. He didn't shout. He simply picked Jay up and spun her around under the Maldivian stars, his laughter echoing over the sound of the ocean waves.
The "7-Day Crisis" was a lifetime ago. The "Kiara Glitch" was a deleted memory. As the two of them stood on that balcony, locked in a kiss that promised another thousand years of devotion, the universe felt perfectly synced.
