Chapter 271 - digital kitchen war

The "Analog vs. Digital" Kitchen War

[Author's POV]

The morning after the "Grand Eviction" of Keifer, the Watson mansion was waking up to a different kind of "System Error." While Keifer was busy grovelling to Jay with a tray of organic breakfast, the kitchen had become a battlefield for Keiran and Rina.

The "Update King" was meeting his match: The Analog Queen.

08:30 AM: The "Input" Conflict [Rina's POV]

I stood in the center of the ultra-modern, 1,000% stainless steel kitchen, holding my vintage, manual Italian espresso press. I was just trying to boil water in a simple kettle, but the kitchen "OS" seemed to think I was a "Security Threat."

"Keiran," I sighed, looking at the touch-screen stovetop that was currently flashing a red 'Unauthorized User' light. "Could you please tell the stove that I just want to make coffee? It won't let me 'Access' the heat."

[Keiran's POV]

I walked in, wearing my "Dev-Team" hoodie and holding a tablet. I saw the vintage metal contraption Rina was holding and felt my "Logic Circuits" shudder.

"Rina, that... that 'Hardware' is from the 1950s," I noted, tapping a few commands on my tablet to unlock the stove. "The Watson Smart-Kitchen is designed for 'Precision Extraction'. We have a 15,000 'A.I. Barista' built into the wall. Why are you trying to manually 'Code' your caffeine?"

"Because the A.I. doesn't understand the 'Soul' of the bean, Keiran," Rina replied, finally getting a flame to appear. "Your machine sounds like a 'Server Room' having a panic attack. I like the sound of the steam."

The "Smart-Fridge" Sabotage

"The sound of the steam is 'Inconsistent Output'!" I argued, reaching for the Smart-Fridge. "Let me show you the 'Optimal Morning Profile'."

As soon as I touched the fridge door, the screen flickered. Jay's voice boomed through the kitchen speakers.

"KEIRAN! GET YOUR COLD HANDS OFF THE FRIDGE. THE 'HEIRS' DEMAND THE CHILLED MANGOS AND IF YOU TOUCH THEM, I WILL HAVE KEIFER 'UNINSTALL' YOUR GAMING CONSOLE."

I jumped back, nearly dropping my tablet. "Jay has 'Proxy-Access' to the kitchen sensors?! That's a 2,000% privacy breach!"

"She's in her 8th month, Keiran," Rina giggled, skillfully tamping her coffee grounds. "She's not 'Breaching Privacy', she's 'Securing Resources'. Now, move. You're blocking my 'Analog Workspace'."

The "Teasing" Frequency: [Author's POV]

Bridget walked in, looking like she'd already run five miles and 'Neutralized' three imaginary enemies. She saw Keiran pouting at his tablet and Rina happily whistling while her manual pot hissed.

"Status report, Keiran?" Bridget teased, grabbing an apple. "Is the 'Update King' being defeated by a woman with a 'Manual Override'?"

"She's 'Analog-Glitching' my kitchen, Bridget!" Keiran complained. "She refused to use the 'Smart-Toaster' because she said the bread 'Preferred' the oven. The bread has no 'Preference'! It's bread!"

"Actually," Rina added, pouring the thick, dark espresso into a porcelain cup, "the oven provides a 'Better Crust-to-Crumb Ratio'. Keigan agrees with me."

"Keigan only agrees with you because he's in a 'Lovesick Loop'!" Keiran shouted. "His 'Analytical Objectivity' is at 0%!"

The "Alpha" Intervention

Suddenly, the kitchen door slid open. Keifer walked in, looking exhausted but 1,000% focused. He was carrying an empty tray—Jay had clearly finished her breakfast.

"Keiran," Keifer growled, his voice low. "Why are you raising the 'Decibel Level' near the 'Empress's Chambers'?"

"Rina is—"

"Rina is 'Optimizing' the coffee," Keifer interrupted, smelling the rich, non-A.I. aroma. He looked at Rina's little pot and then at Keiran's tablet. "Keiran, your 'Digital Coffee' tastes like 'Plastic and Electricity'. Give me a cup of whatever the 'Analog Queen' is making. 1,000%."

Keiran's jaw dropped. "Even the CEO is 'Desyncing' from the tech?! This is a 'Total System Failure'!"
