Chapter 272 - queen mother

The "Queen Mother" Strikes: The Roast of Pappa Keizer

[Jay's POV]

Dinner at the Watson estate during the 8th month was usually a high-stakes "Resource Allocation" event. I was sitting at the head of the table (well, technically Keifer's throne, but at 32 weeks, every chair belongs to the Empress). My 8th-month bump was so massive it was practically its own dinner guest, currently acting as a shelf for my glass of sparkling cider.

Keifer was sitting next to me, cutting my steak into "Optimal-Sized Data Bites" so I wouldn't have to exert too much energy. Across from us, Keigan and Rina were sharing a "Sync-Look," and Keiran was trying to sneak-read a tablet under the table.

But the real "Primary Conflict" was at the other end: Pappa Keizer and Mamma Serina.

The "Legacy" Glitch

Pappa Keizer was in the middle of a "Boardroom Rant." He was currently complaining about a new eco-friendly development project in the city.

"It's 1,000% inefficient, Serina!" Pappa barked, gesturing with his fork like it was a tactical pointer. "They want to install 'Wildflower Roofs' on the Watson Plaza. It's a 'Security Risk'. Bees are 'Unauthorized Flying Objects'. I won't have the Watson legacy associated with 'Insect Habitat'."

Mamma Serina didn't even look up from her soup. She took a slow, elegant sip, then dabbed her mouth with a silk napkin.

"Keizer, dear," she said, her voice like velvet-wrapped steel. "The only 'Security Risk' I see is your memory. You're acting like a 'Legacy Legend' when we both know you once got 'Firewalled' by a common garden gnome."

The "Garden Gnome" Incident: [Jay's POV]

The table went dead silent. Keifer's steak knife slipped. Keiran actually dropped his tablet.

"Mamma," I whispered, leaning forward (as much as the twins allowed). "What is the 'Garden Gnome' file? I need this 'Data' for my archives."

"Serina, that is 'Confidential Information'!" Pappa Keizer huffed, his face turning a shade of "System-Error Red."

"Oh, it was 2,000% hilarious," Mamma continued, ignoring him. "When we first moved into this estate, your Pappa decided he was the 'Primary Landscaper'. He found a ceramic gnome that the previous owners left behind. He was convinced it was a 'Surveillance Device' planted by a rival corporation."

Bridget, who had just walked in for late-night coffee, let out a snort. "A ceramic gnome? Did he 'Background Check' it?"

"Worse," Mamma giggled. "He spent three hours 'Interrogating' it with a flashlight in the garden at 2:00 AM. I found him trying to 'Decrypt' its hat. He told me the gnome had a 'Suspiciously Low Frame-Rate'."

The Roast Continues

The boys—Keifer, Keigan, and Keiran—were all trying to maintain "Watson Composure," but their shoulders were shaking.

"It had a 'Pin-Hole Camera' in the left eye, Serina! It was a 1,000% breach!" Pappa defended himself, looking at Keifer for support.

Keifer cleared his throat, looking at me. "Pappa... as the current CEO, I have to inform you that 'Arguing with Lawn Ornaments' is an 'Off-Brand' activity. The 'Data' doesn't support your defense."

"Exactly," Mamma added, leaning in. "And don't get me started on the time you tried to 'Global-Position' the cat because she wasn't 'Syncing' with your dinner schedule. You're an 'Ice King' to the world, Keizer, but in this house, you're just a man who gets outsmarted by a Siamese with a 'Connection Issue'."

The Final Strike: [Jay's POV]

I couldn't help it. I let out a loud, 8th-month "Empress Laugh." Alexander and Aurora started kicking in rhythm, clearly enjoying the "System Takedown" of their grandfather.

"Pappa," I said, wiping a tear from my eye. "I think your 'Authority File' just got 'Corrupted'."

Pappa Keizer looked around the table at all of us—the pregnant Empress, the silent-smirking CEO, the tech-nerd sons, and the "Analog Queen" Rina, who was trying to hide her face in her napkins.

He let out a long, heavy sigh and looked at Mamma Serina with a look of 1,000% defeat... and 2,000% love.

"Fine," Pappa muttered, reaching for his wine. "Install the 'Wildflower Roof'. But if a bee 'Breaches the Perimeter' of my office, I'm 'Deleting' the gardener."

"1,000%," Mamma smiled, patting his hand.
