Chapter 9 - Episode 8: Realization

"R—recruit?!"

"Ah, yes Gifted. David here is actually part of the management department."

"...And he's my caretaker."

"And he's your caretaker!"

"Besides that, why are you calling me "Gifted"?"

"That is highly confidential, little one. But, you will know soon enough."

"Thank you, madam. Sir. Adrian, shall we continue our exploration?"

"...Huh? Ah, sorry, I was distracted."

He is disturbed. Maybe such information was hard to digest in one sitting.

I continued to memorize the layout of the building as we returned to the same spots from different corridors. Finally, I was able to grasp the layout just fine.

"The lobby is just around the corner, why don't we stay there for a while?"

"Hmm, you truly memorized the layout, how astonishing."

"Please drop the formalities."

"Hahaha, okay."

I opened the doors leading to the Lobby. Chatters can be found within the lobby. It was full of employees, but this time, they weren't NPCs.

Clap clap. All attention shifted to the host at the center of the lobby, he wore a falcon mask and a distinguishable suit.

"Hello, I'm Falcon. I will serve as your Manager and group director, now, I will introduce our newest member. Please step forward, Adrian Ace."

Hearing my name called, I have no choice but to comply. The spotlight shone above me, and the others made a way towards the host. I walked slowly and arrived beside the host.

"Then, please introduce yourself."

Falcon handed me the microphone he was holding and I began to speak.

"I… My name is Adrian Ace Miller and I… transferred here yesterday. I hope to make acquaintances and cooperate greatly in the future. Thank you for welcoming me."

Applauds were heard immediately after I spoke, even David in a corner applauded.

He looks like a dad attending his son's graduation.

I returned the microphone to the host and distanced myself, returning beside David.

Now that I think about it, I feel quite dependent on David now. Also, oddly enough, I adapted pretty well.
