In the living room, Sarada rode on Kaien's back, cheering excitedly as he crawled around like a dutiful steed.
Uchiha Mikoto sat on the sofa, asking Sasuke various questions. Meanwhile, Sakura watched Kaien and Sarada, her beautiful eyes filled with tenderness.

"Dad? Mom? Why are you here?"

"Yes, yes, of course you can. Please come in," Sakura said quickly, ushering her parents inside before closing the door.
When Mikoto heard Sakura call out "Dad and Mom," she immediately stood and went to greet them.
"In-laws, in-laws! Come in, come in. You didn't even tell us you were coming."
"Hehe, we were just passing by and wanted to see Sarada," Haruno Mebuki said with a soft smile before looking toward Sarada. "Sarada, Grandma's here."
"Grandma~" Sarada immediately climbed off Kaien's back and ran over, wrapping her arms around Mebuki's legs.
"Ah, my Sarada, you've grown so much," Mebuki said happily as she squatted down and stroked Sarada's head.
"Hehe, of course!" Sarada laughed proudly.
Mebuki's gaze swept across the living room. When her eyes landed on Kaien, they narrowed slightly.
Sure enough… the two people who came out of the inn earlier were Sakura and this man.
When she noticed Sasuke sitting there, she paused in surprise. "Sasuke is back? When did you return?"
"Last night," Sasuke replied indifferently.
Last night?
That doesn't add up. If he returned last night, shouldn't Sakura have been with him?
Did I really see wrong?
No… that man was definitely the young boy standing right in front of her.
"Hehe, our family hasn't gathered like this in a long time," Mikoto said warmly.
"And this is?" Mebuki asked, looking directly at Kaien.
"Oh, him? He's Kaien, Kushina's godson," Mikoto explained.

"Aunt Mebuki, Uncle Haruno Kizashi, hello," Kaien greeted politely.
He had met Sakura's mother once before, but after so many years she still looked surprisingly young and beautiful.

"No!" Sarada suddenly hugged Kaien's leg tightly.
"Sarada won't let brother Kaien leave!"
"Sarada, be good. Brother Kaien will play with you next time, okay?" Kaien said softly, crouching down and patting her head.
"No! I don't care! Brother Kaien can't leave today!"
Kaien looked helplessly toward Sakura.
"Just stay and play with Sarada. Leave after lunch," Sakura said with a gentle smile.
"Exactly! Leave after eating!" Sarada echoed.
"Alright then," Kaien sighed, unable to refuse.
"Yay! Let's keep riding the horsey!"
Kaien could only smile helplessly and continue playing with her.
After a while, Sakura checked the time. "It's getting late. I'll start making dinner."
She walked into the kitchen.
Sarada rode Kaien around a few more times before getting tired. With Mebuki and Kizashi calling her, she ran off to play with her grandparents.
Mikoto continued chatting with Sasuke.
Kaien suddenly found himself with nothing to do.
